@yaddayaddaa

And as for all this, “ no it wasn’t the Queen or Prince Phillip..,,” Do these people have no shame? What do they think they are playing at - Cluedo?
😅😂🤣
sst1234 · 08/03/2021 14:48

This gets more ridiculous by the minute. A statement every day to say who didn’t make the baby skin colour comment until the big reveal. Why not go straight to the lie detector. They missed a trick when they chose Oprah for the interview, maybe Jerry Springer was busy that day.

Nicolastuffedone · 08/03/2021 14:53

forinborin · 08/03/2021 14:54

Apparently Boris Johnson also has an opinion about the interview, and will express it at the press conference at 4pm today?
Jeee the plot thickens.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 08/03/2021 14:55

I'm not bothered about any of them.

mainsfed · 08/03/2021 14:55

I don’t think it’s related to her race, more the fact she was an American D-list actor and Harry isn’t renowned for his solid decision making skills. They were worried they’d wind up embarrassed and they were obviously right to be concerned...

Yes, let's just pretend that memes like Harry walking a baby chimp didn't happen.

Thedogscollar · 08/03/2021 14:55

@QueenofTheCandles
How juvenile.

1WayOrAnother2 · 08/03/2021 14:57

ITV have replaced 'Unforgotten' with an interview about an ex-royal and an ex-actress.

Is there no end to the crimes of the media?

Did they think that an audience keen on fiction - and working out who is telling the truth -would be happy with the exchange?

ITV please note, our standards are higher - we like professionals doing their job well; especially where the presentation of fiction is concerned.

TheStreamThatStoodStill · 08/03/2021 14:58

Team Windsor. If you want to leave and disavow your family then do it, no problem, but do it quietly and with dignity and respect. Not like this. No sympathy for Team Meghan.

mainsfed · 08/03/2021 14:58

@1WayOrAnother2 will they take note of ratings or your opinion? Hmm!

thebabessavedme · 08/03/2021 15:00

@EpiphanySoul1 - No I dont agree with keeping PA within the royal family, I would get rid of the entire lot of them, as someone else said 'its a posh jeremy kyle show' now with added blood diamonds, racism, adultery, peadaophillia, dodgy money making deals, very dodgy friends, the list goes on and at the rate they are going I would think that within the next 10 years that we will have the choice to abolish the Monarcy. There is basically not a level that they dont seem to live down to.

They are at the beginning of the end and they just cant see it.

LolaSmiles · 08/03/2021 15:02

I don't particularly care either way, but based on what I saw in The Guardian I find it hard to get on board with the pity party 'poor us we didn't really want to do Netflix deals but when Daddy cut our financial support off we had to find a way to make money'.

From my perspective the story seems to be 2 adults have genuine issue with racist elements of the British press, but instead of dealing with it maturely, they flounce, spend months whining about how life is so tough now that having jacked in the day job they don't get the perks of the day job, with a healthy dose of whining and throwing pity parties to gain public sympathy.

I find it hard that 'couple has to work to fund family and lifestyle' is news.

Kettledodger · 08/03/2021 15:04

I for one will not deny that there was perhaps some element of racism in the way Meghan was treated (intentional or otherwise) but to use it as an excuse to move from the UK and then go and live in a country that sparked a whole surge in the BLM movement throughout the world is laughable. Overall I would say the UK is a way more tolerable society than America

SabrinaMorningstar · 08/03/2021 15:07

The thing is TeamWindsor and TeamMeghan are both the same - over-privileged; over-indulged; over-paid and over-exposed. Generations weaned on the faux family drama of the Kardashians and Jerry Springer are lapping it up but this isn't a Princess story or a triumph for victims. It's very wealthy people showing their complete disdain for ordinary people's lives and priorities.

Roussette · 08/03/2021 15:07

Not sure if anyone on here doesn't want SPOILERS... scroll past this post if you object to hearing anything in advance.

This is very interesting... the media have far too much of a hold on the RF.
This is what needs sorting. The stranglehold of the media.

The Royals have an "invisible contract" with the media
Pulling back the curtain to the unique relationship between the palace and the press, Harry revealed, "There is what's termed or referred to as the 'invisible contract' behind closed doors between the institution and the tabloids, the U.K. Tabloids."

Going on to detail that tie between the two entities, Harry said, "To simplify it, it's a case of if you as a family member are willing to wine, dine, and give full access to these reporters, then you will get better press."

The institution, Harry explained, "survives based on that perception" that is presented in the papers and that "everyone needs to have some compassion for [the royals] in that situation, right? There is a level of control by fear that has existed for generations…I mean, generations."

So even members of the royal family are terrified of what will be said about them by the press, leading to tabloid reporters getting to attend events at Buckingham Palace while also spreading rumors about the couple.

"See, I think there's a reason that these tabloids have holiday parties at the palace," Meghan said. "They're hosted by the palace, the tabloids are. You know, there is a construct that's at play there. And because, from the beginning of our relationship, they were so attacking and inciting so much racism, really, it changed…the risk level, because it wasn't just catty gossip. It was bringing out a part of people that was racist in how it was charged. And that changed the threat. That changed the level of death threats. That changed everything. "

How long before the inevitable divorce. Oprah round two. The big reveal on why the marriage didn’t work out. Meghan looking thoughtful reflective “it was because of the intense media scrutiny”. And irony goes to somewhere quietly.

DrSbaitso · 08/03/2021 15:08

Tell us more about the right and proper way to respond to institutional racism.

OliviaBensonsEyebrow · 08/03/2021 15:12

You say there is a racist within the Royal Family?

Do you mean Prince Harry? He has form for dressing up as a Nazi and using racial slurs against his military colleagues.

Sschhhh that never happened, it was the big bad media painting lie (assisted by big bad evil Kate) all because he was ginger
mainsfed · 08/03/2021 15:20

I think the word 'whining' when used in the same sentence as 'racism' gives a clear indication of someone's true thoughts.

LikeWaterForSoup · 08/03/2021 15:21

The irony is that their interview is earning the daily mail £££££££££££ in advertising revenue. It's a bit of an own goal.

I think the British public have a right to know whether the Big Wedding was fake.

Wakemeuuuup · 08/03/2021 15:21

I think Harry is coming out of this looking like a bad husband. How did Meghan not know she had to curtsey to the Queen? He should have told her.

Quite frankly I'm not surprised she had mental health problems if she was so out of her depth and Harry is the main person to blame for not preparing her.

LikeWaterForSoup · 08/03/2021 15:22

I rather think that the word whining is very fitting when they complain about not receiving tax payers money to fund their luxury lifestyle.
VapeVamp12 · 08/03/2021 15:22

I'll always be Team Windsor but i'm interested to see what H&M get up to in the next few years in LA.

I think she has just returned to her home town a hell of a lot more famous and rich than when she left, now with a real Prince on her arm which will lead to lots of other social circles opening up for her.

I don't doubt that her life in the palace was very hard though. Then again, I think she was very naive if she didn't realise this beforehand. She didn't marry a celebrity, she married into the royal family.
