Yes - Team Meghan

No - Team Windsor

Nothing - Don’t really care!

They have been cut off financially by the family.

Don't most of us get cut off when we're adults and have to make our own living?

DrSbaitso · 08/03/2021 13:57

also, could Camilla ever be described as a 'senior' member of the royal family?

Of course. She's married to the heir apparent and she's the Princess of Wales, though she wisely doesn't use that title.

Roussette · 08/03/2021 13:57

I believe there was a great opportunity for Meghan and Harry to help modernise the royals

I think that would've been like pushing water uphill with your hands.

The courtiers are in charge. Nothing would happen whatever they tried. The only change will be when the Queen is gone.

sleepwouldbenice · 08/03/2021 13:57

I despised our media and much of the way they have treated them is shocking
Also I do believe they have been under tremense pressure and supported their move for a new life .some of the points they raised are concerning, others pathetic
But this whole interview? Not at all right in my book. They were supposed to want to move on.....

ajandjjmum · 08/03/2021 13:58

Quite funny that the Royal Family have said nothing.

M & H have already made two 'corrections' -

i. The racist comment wasn't made by HM or Philip.
ii. The 'marriage' three days earlier was just a rehearsal.

I wonder how many corrections there will be by the end of the week.

RaspberryCoulis · 08/03/2021 13:59

@AgeLikeWine

So it turns out that Meghan’s claim that they got married three days before the wedding wasn’t actually true. H&M have now ‘clarified’ that it was effectively a private rehearsal of their vows and that they were legally married during the ceremony.

So, having established that she lied at least once during the interview, what else that she said isn’t actually true?

So you mean she attended a wedding rehearsal, just like 99% of people who have a church wedding do? let alone a church wedding where the world's press are in attendance?
HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 08/03/2021 14:00

Team couldn't give a shite

DrSbaitso · 08/03/2021 14:00

Of course the Royal Family have said nothing, officially at least. That's how it works. They cannot ever be seen to get into what could be seen as mud slinging. It always looks, to an extent, undignified. Their purpose is to be above it all and get on with serving the country.

52andblue · 08/03/2021 14:01

@ATieLikeRichardGere

We’ve all had a terrible year and this whole drama feels a bit tone deaf to real world struggles. People are dying and losing their jobs but our attention is turned to a fight over TIGHTS between two rich people. It parodies itself.
That made me laugh @ATieLikeRichardGere Spot on!
thebabessavedme · 08/03/2021 14:01

Team Tell UsThe Bloody Truth

1, Did you actually have a fake wedding that you expected (and got) the public purse to pay for after you had a 'private wedding ceremony'?

2, You say there is a racist within the Royal Family?, please name that person so that we, the people who keep them in royal style can decide if we wish to carry on doing that.

3, Do you both find it strange that you have fallen out with both sides of your family in such a public way?

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 08/03/2021 14:01

I suspected a bombshell interview. I think Meghan felt she had to justify them leaving the RF in the way they did. They've been called whingers, entitled etc By her saying she felt suicidal and felt racism towards her baby she shuts that down because nobody would expect her or anyone to put up with that. People may feel it doesn't ring true I doubt she would lie about such serious matters.

Charles and William will not be so tolerant of entitled wannabes who think they are due more importance than they deserve. That will be a good thing. They might be able to forgive but they will not forget this spiteful performance. Nor would we want them to do so.
yaddayaddaa · 08/03/2021 14:03

And as for all this, “ no it wasn’t the Queen or Prince Phillip..,,” Do these people have no shame? What do they think they are playing at - Cluedo?

Sparrowfeeder · 08/03/2021 14:04

@cabingirl

The mental health and no help claims make no sense at all. Both William and Harry have talked a lot about all the therapy they've had. To deal with their mother's death and then William talked about needing therapy to deal with the bad stuff he saw when he was in the air ambulance.

Kate's brother has talked about having group family therapy for his depression that Kate attended.

No one would have had to know if Meghan had one therapist or several for her mental health.

Before Harry and William mentioned it themselves in interviews no one had a clue that any of them had attended any mental health treatment. So it's clear it's possible to do so without it being an issue.

It’s one thing having therapy for the death of your mother or whatever but to have therapy because your treatment at the hands of the toxic racist Royal Family made you feel suicidal?! There is no way they would give her permission to discuss that outside the family! Who ate you kidding??
horizondawn02 · 08/03/2021 14:04

Why are people surprised they’ve done an interview and call it attention seeking? They’re just putting out their point of view since they (moreso Meghan) have been absolutely persecuted by the British media. Some people have a bizarre allegiance to the monarchy. Not one thing they have said is unbelievable. I’m not saying it’s all true but it all certainly could be. I don’t get why people are confused over the whole Archie being a Prince issue. The Queen very much could have given Archie the title of Prince so that argument is null. As for the timing of the interview, why not now? People like to use the pandemic as an excuse to silence things when it’s something they’re against but the world goes on regardless.

Bunnyfuller · 08/03/2021 14:04

Best thing that could happen is no one watch the damn interview.

We don’t want press intrusion then plan and execute a ‘reveal’ all TV programme. I’d forgotten them. They can bugger back off to their private life.

If (as a pp said) they weren’t paid, and we know they have declared they don’t want media attention, then what was the point of doing this? Seriously, I genuinely don’t get it? It will stir up more attention, more bad feelings towards them, both from the RF and from a large proportion of the public. They’re not going to ‘reform’ the RF by doing this, at most it’s the shock factor they’re giving, but why.

If they were paid I could (no moral compass) understand it, but declaring your wish to be private citizens, but agreeing to go on bloody Oprah?!

LikeWaterForSoup · 08/03/2021 14:08

I'm just cringing seeing the latest clips they have released. Harry's behaviour just shows that no matter what privilege you're born into, class has nothing to do with wealth.

Harry has no class Confused he is wealthy beyond belief, his children will never ever want for anything and here these two entitled millionaires are crying on TV moaning about how unfairly they have been treated because they are not getting British taxpayer's £££ to fund a lifestyle of immense wealth and privilege without giving back to the British public in any way.

TBH Harry and Meghan's behaviour is exactly why it's not a good idea to have the monarchy. What if they sat on the throne? or Uncle Andrew for that matter. We've been blessed with QEII and Catherine seems alight but what if you have self-serving muppets like H&M?

longwayoff · 08/03/2021 14:09

She doesn't speak to her family - watch your step, Doria. He doesn't speak to his family. What an example to set for their own children. Shockingly spoilt and over-entitled children, both of them. Dreadful behaviour.

Whodunnit.
LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 08/03/2021 14:12

It has brought in millions. Why wouldn't they want paid? I find that odd. Is it because of the Netflix and Spotify deals do we think? Anyone know why I care?Grin

sst1234 · 08/03/2021 14:13

So the Z list actress found out that’s she wasn’t going to play princess and didn’t like it. Well never know what really happened because the other side will never get to share ‘their truth’ on a side not, when did truth become mine or yours, I thought there was only one truth.

MrsWhites · 08/03/2021 14:14

**Phil the Greek is a shocking old racist, he has form for racist comments. I bet it was him who was wondering about the baby's skin colour.

Oh the irony!

DrSbaitso · 08/03/2021 14:14

when did truth become mine or yours, I thought there was only one truth.

Whoa. When did you learn that?

And who is authorised to say what the absolute truth is?

midsomermurderess · 08/03/2021 14:15

To coin a m phrase, you sound lovely, sst...

Roussette · 08/03/2021 14:15

They might be able to forgive but they will not forget this spiteful performance

I doubt Harry will be able to forgive the fact that the RF didn't have his wife's back either.
