I'm feeling a bit bored of cornflakes and I think I should try something different this week so, what is/was your favourite cereal? I like the mini weetabix but I haven't had them in a while.

Morrison's Fruit and FIbre, not the Kellog's , too sweet, eaten with lots of raspberries.

RockyTigerScarf · 08/03/2021 20:09

I remember start cereal! I wasn't aware it had been discontinued, that's a bloody great shame.

Frosties

FruityPolos · 08/03/2021 20:15

Another one missing Start and Ricicles here!

I've always loved cereal, currently go between Kellogg's Crunchy Nut cornflakes and Asda own brand Shredded. Asda own brand Special K red berries is decent but hardly any berries in the box 🙄

Anyone remember the short lived 90s ones like Corn Pops and Banana Bubbles? I ate loads of Corn Pops as a 90s teen as they had special Take That pictures to collect on the boxes at one point 😆

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 08/03/2021 20:17

Jordans Country Crisp with chocolate flakes. Amazing!

DinosaurDiana · 08/03/2021 20:18

Shreddies with hot milk and either a banana chopped on top, or a sprinkle of sultanas, depending upon my mood 😋

Dutchesss · 08/03/2021 20:19

Weetabix or shreddies.
I used to love branflakes but struggle to find any without added sugar.

diamondpony80 · 08/03/2021 20:22

Crunchy nut cornflakes for me. The kids are obsessed with Krave. We don’t really buy either of them though because they’d be gone in a day or two. So we mostly stick with cornflakes, weetabix etc

GreenSlide · 08/03/2021 20:24

I used to love sugar puffs so much. Then they changed them and they're tasteless now. Does anyone know where I can get sugar puffs that taste like proper sugar puffs?

SpeckledyHen · 08/03/2021 20:31

Porridge with blueberries.

MaMaD1990 · 08/03/2021 20:32

Bran flakes. I just LOVE them. Possibly the most boring cereal out there but I can't help it.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 08/03/2021 20:40

I loved Start. Beyond gutted it got discontinued but I think it might have been very sugary.

DipSwimSwoosh · 08/03/2021 20:41

Shredded Wheat
I also love Cornflakes, Bran Flakes and Rice Crispies.
But because of health and cost, I often end up eating muesli, Shreddies or Cheerios instead. My kids like those.

They seem fine to me, perhaps a little less sweet.

Sugar Puffs were my go-to for morning sickness, aeons ago when they must still have been as your remember? Then there was a phase where manufacturers reduced the sugar and used this as a selling point.

The same thing happened with my favourite cereal, Oat Krunchies. They reduced the sugar, then they seemed to disappear. But a careful scrutiny of the cereal aisle two or three years ago, revealed that they are now called Oat Crisp. To me, they taste as good as they ever did.

Does anyone remember Country Store? A sweet and indulgent muesli, it was hardly a health food! Reduction of sugar in cereals also put paid to that. Perhaps a good thing, as I was addicted.

Favourite- Crunchy Nut Cornflakes Grin

What I actually eat because I’m trying to get rid of my lockdown weight - porridge Sad

rc22 · 08/03/2021 20:52

Crunchy nut cornflakes, coco pops or Alpen. Rarely eat them though. Too much sugar!!

AMMCIAC · 08/03/2021 20:53

Shredded wheat with hot milk.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 08/03/2021 20:53

Yanbu to ask.

Have you heard of Chat or Food/Recipes?

cherryberrylicious · 08/03/2021 20:54

Special K the original

Tianatiers · 08/03/2021 20:57

Fruit and fibre. Any brand except sainsburys which for some reason tastes like cardboard.

When I lived in NZ there was this amazing cereal, I think it was called 'just right' that was the absolute best it was like an amazing mix of lots of different cereals. I wish they did that here I'd eat it for every meal!

Hotdogsforsale · 08/03/2021 21:01

All Bran mostly, or Grape Nuts. Love both. DH struggles to contain himself around the All Bran, and frequently gives himself a bad stomach from eating obscene quantities Grin

MrsSugar · 08/03/2021 21:02

Frosted wheats 😌

I don't like them so can't compare but my mum does and she buys the Aldi ones.
IHaveBrilloHair · 08/03/2021 22:14

Shreddies.

Kellogg's do a cereal called Just Right - it's one of my favourites. Not sure if it's the same one though!
