Mine are:

Being exceptionally good at slicing bread (straight, even slices every time, even on squishy, unevenly shaped loaves)

Uncannily accurate at guessing the time when I haven’t looked at a clock for hours - I’m never more than a few minutes out.

Tell me the things you can do that are not that impressive!

I am excellent at Ctchphrase, almost always know who dunnit (and see plot twists a mile off) and can remember every lyric to most songs I've heard, decades later.

None of these are remotely useful but help me to feel some sense of smugness despite my otherwise entirely mediocre collection of life achievements.

TreesoftheField · 07/03/2021 20:56

I can remember song lyrics to very obscure pop songs. In particular Will Smith raps. SO useful

Milgram · 07/03/2021 20:58

Oh, and I’m really good at remembering my dreams! If I wake up I can usually fall back to sleep and pick up the dream where I left off.

olbndanszombie · 07/03/2021 21:16

When I am listening to someone talk I can see the words, almost as if they’re writing them not speaking them.
And if I hear someone on tv doing a voiceover I can picture them and describe them, but not always remember their name

Getting people to tell me hidden sadnesses or formative experiences, the stuff that makes them who they are. This isn't something I try and do at all, but I have had SO MANY people over the years open up and tell me quite unprompted about the stuff that has shaped them. Random old blokes in the pub that I've happened to be sat next to, strangers on the bus that I've just passed the time of day with, visiting CEOs, medical staff who were treating me

I'm not sure whether I'm a particularly good listener, but I AM fascinated by the stuff that makes people tick- so perhaps it's just that I actually hear what they are saying and work out the bits that have had an impact. Perhaps other people wouldn't notice it. I love it :)

I can read in a moving car without getting travel sick.

My husband knows the age of literally all public figures. I mentioned this at a dinner party and everyone spent the night firing names at him and checking on Wikipedia.

Mummyyyyyyyyyy · 07/03/2021 21:30

Recognising people by their voices. Famous & people I’ve spoken to previously. Useless talent.
I’m also quite good at estimating the time.

Geordieoldgirl · 07/03/2021 21:33

I am very quick in the shower.

CrankyFrankie · 07/03/2021 21:34

Fuck all your stealth brags; blowjob queen over here Shock

Bertiebiscuit · 07/03/2021 21:35

I'm quite good at cutting my own hair except for the back - which no one sees on zoom anyway, I can just about knock up a loaf from one of those ready mix bags from the supermarket - which I don't mention when I show off my home baked loaves - also have found a great brand of microwave chips and can rustle up poutine in 10 minutes - instant gravy granules and supermarket mozzarella - the cheapest - makes an excellent comfort dinner

This could actually be me writing. My family refuse to watch Catchphrase with me. Or anything else!

Also guessing endings of films, TV series, books etc without really paying attention- I told my OH the twist in Old Boy when it came out. I'd read and slept through pretty much the whole film, looked up and said "you know that's his spoiler right?"It actually does his head in. We have a deal now where I can write down my theory but not tell him he then looks at the end. Just to satisfy my absolute need to be right and for him to know it Grin I once inadvertently ruined a series for my whole office by guessing the ending. I'd only seen trailers.

Navigation by pub. I have the uncanny ability of giving directions by pub, even when I haven't spent much time in a town. This (obvious) superpower has gradually adapted to include coffee shops.

@ConquestEmpireHungerPlague

I have a 100% success rate at winning Freecell, extending across two decades and half a dozen computers.
I had forgotten this but I too had a long standing unbeaten streak which my brother in law refused to believe. I haven't played it for years now.
Pogostemon · 07/03/2021 22:31

I have never lost a game of Trivial Pursuit. Even the one time I played it in German.

AWhisperWillDoIfThatsAllYouCan · 07/03/2021 22:37

I can complete the smallest minesweeper consistently in less than 8 seconds.

LadyofMisrule · 07/03/2021 22:47

I make amazing Yorkshire puddings, and I'm really good at fitting carpets.

81Byerley · 07/03/2021 22:54

When my children were small I was able to read to them, (I'm told with expression) whilst thinking about something entirely different.

I can do this too. It's like when you drive home perfectly safely, but have no memory of the journey.

LouH1981 · 07/03/2021 23:03

I make awesome pancakes and have a selective photographic memory (just registration plates apparently!)

Littlecaf · 07/03/2021 23:05

I have a really good sense of direction and recall of places.

I can find most places on Google maps years after I’ve been there.

drumst1ck · 07/03/2021 23:17

I can do a really convincing seagull impression

I am the roundabout ninja.

Everyone else will be politely waiting to see who’s turn it is, then I arrive late to the party and it’s ‘out of the way peasants...’

Wobblysausage · 07/03/2021 23:59

I’m brilliant at Catchphrase.

Hurtandupset2 · 08/03/2021 00:03

I can't think of anything that I'm good at, let alone really good.

Bouledeneige · 08/03/2021 00:25

I have good general knowledge, writing, vocabulary and spelling skills

I am also good at knowing the time

I am good at guessing plot twists

I am good at cooking quite a few savoury dishes and making up my own recipes
