IKEA Charging £5 for Click and Collect

Seriously? Charging customers £5 per order to collect their own goods from outside the store?

Do they not want business or something?

Ooh, there's even a "Bargain Corner" bit of the website! (called Final Clearance).

If anyone's near the Gateshead Ikea, The Range store next door is fully open, and now has an Iceland supermarket department inside it!

@Nancylovesthecock

I love your user name. I hope you secretly work in the same store as me. Send me a bat signal if you do Grin

@alltomuchrightnow I hear you. It's bloody hard work Flowers

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 04/03/2021 00:08

Disgusting you should get home delivery for that.

Caspianberg · 04/03/2021 07:37

IKEA egg cups ( the flat ones) are great. About £1, and stack nicely in dishwasher. Annoying not available online for some reason.
IKEA where I live is now open again. No meatballs yet though unfortunately as restaurant closed. I can’t muster the energy to visit IKEA in person with no food pit stop halfway

Symbion · 04/03/2021 14:53

My mind is boggled by the idea of a flat egg cup.

A sign of lockdown fever perhaps, that I can even care about this!

Caspianberg · 04/03/2021 19:01

@Symbion - flat egg cup for you. The wide base means they never tip over and they stack in dishwasher

It's only a fiver 🙄

Thank you @Caspianberg Smile

I'm accumulating a stash of ikea stuff in my basket as there's something I need from there but keep remembering other things I want too. They're only small - pans etc - so the delivery cost is only £4. But click and collect is £5. So yes, I think £5 is a lot when I can get them delivered 20+ miles away for £1 less. It goes against the argument that it costs £5 to pick them, as my £4 includes the picking of (currently) 6 items as well as delivery.
