@ArcheryAnnie

Have you seen what Yorkshire Tea has done now?

toast and jam flavoured tea

biscuit flavoured tea

I pretend these don’t exist tbh
LAgeDeRaisin · 26/02/2021 22:30

YANBU OP it is an affront.

7catsandcounting · 26/02/2021 22:33

@Lochmorlich I'm in France too. I had a tea meltdown today. What are we going to do?????? I have enough PG Tips to last for three weeks. My sister in sending me a box of Yorkshire she's found (Paris). Something has to be done. I might join the gilet jaunes over this.

NoseOfJericho · 26/02/2021 22:36

@crystaltips98

They (like some other brands) also use microplastic in the bags so your tea is laced with this stuff. Change to PG tips. No tear dilemas and better for environment

No plastic.

Devlesko · 26/02/2021 22:51

@BrideofBideford

There is a knack to it

You need to take a handful of lined up double bags and slowly bend them/pull them and they all come apart at the same time

I can’t separate 2 bags

But I can separate a pile of bags neatly in one go

Shall I do a YouTube vid on it?! Grin

Yes, please do. I'll subscribe especially if you get pics of people doing it. It would be worth it for the comedy value. What are you all doing? Honestly?
Regretsy · 26/02/2021 23:01

Can’t be bothered to RTFT but the fact there’s six pages of comments on an empassioned thread about tea is really cheering me up Smile. Tea is just the best.

Devlesko · 26/02/2021 23:04

Read the thread, you know you want to. Grin It's only 3 pages in the north.

MacDuffsMuff · 26/02/2021 23:10

Oh I've got the Monkey one, I didn't realise it was a thing! It's all bashed and battered now but well loved!

MacDuffsMuff · 26/02/2021 23:12

It's the jubilee one from 2012. Should I take it to the antiques roadshow?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/02/2021 00:44

The actual Gruffalo one was free - you bought the tea bags and the caddy came with them (a promotion, obviously, but it worked with me because I am very shallow. And tight

When I bought my Gruffalo Caddy , I didn't even drink tea, it was for visitors .
Then I went to Turkey , they refused to give me coffee ( I was in hospital) I sucked the tea (watery and no milk) through my griited teeth and quite liked it .
So convert .
But has to be Builders with Alpro .

TheSandman · 27/02/2021 00:55

Just use scissors.

No plastic

But that says they're still using plastic?

Nith · 27/02/2021 06:24

There was an excellent TV programme comparing the two that I watched a couple of months ago. I think it was on channel 5, and who knows, may still be available.

I won't tell you who won. I don't believe in spoilers

Ah, go on. Who's going to go off and look for a programme whose name they don't know and may not be available anyway?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/02/2021 07:52

@EveryDayIsADuvetDay

and I am in love with my new teapot Tealyra Marble Teapot

It holds 600ml, perfect for two mugs!
The one I replaced was a similar shape, but only 500ml - one and a bit mugs, almost as frustrating as pairs of teabags.

And yes, you can use loose leaf too.

That is a thing of Great Beauty, EveryDay

I love teapots.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 27/02/2021 07:57

I drink Clipper tea nowadays. They separate more easily and are unbleached.

(I'm aware this isn't quite as slick as the advert).

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/02/2021 07:59

I should have added that, tight as I am, I would happily pay £220 for that marble teapot.

*Have you seen what Yorkshire Tea has done now?

toast and jam flavoured tea

biscuit flavoured tea

I've seen this stuff in the shops. I'm not sure I can ever forgive them.

And yes - to PP - I have to admit I was almost swayed by the Wallace and Grommit mug . . . almost . . .

Just for you Nith v v v v v v Grin

J0nah · 01/03/2021 21:53

I've noticed this too. So annoying. Also, I haven't been able to get the big box in my weekly Tesco delivery for months now. We should complain. I'm now off to contemplate whether I'd prefer Ricky Wilson to come to my house and split tea bags for me or Sean Bean.
Or both...

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/03/2021 08:55

Sean Bean.

No contest.

DenisetheMenace · 02/03/2021 08:57

Always wondered, is it actually Yorkshire tea 😁

Hobbesmanc · 02/03/2021 08:58

Thats spooky. Its just happened to me. And i'm a seventies child where tea at my numerous elderly great aunts meant tea strainers and the dregs at the bottom of the cup. I used to hate the thought of swallowing those bits!
