PGTips are far nicer

@The6thQueen I’ve started pre-separating them to put in the tin now too. Glad I’m not alone in finding it a nightmare to separate the pairs!
I’m finding it works better to start separating from the middle of the two bags, rather than tearing from one end

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 11:55

@peak2021

It seems to be a recent thing.

Never used to have Yorkshire tea when young, one of the few benefits of climate change.

🙄😂
Dahlietta · 26/02/2021 11:57

Yorkshire tea is overrated anyway.

Excuse me? Wash your mouth out!

Devlesko · 26/02/2021 12:00

Mine are fine, never had a problem, I just must be lucky.
Maybe they want you to become a tasseographer.

FreeAt50 · 26/02/2021 12:01

OH THANKS BE TO GOD! I thought I was going mad - literally the last 2 boxes have been like this - what on earth?! I like to split them before I put them in the caddy and its really grinding my gears irrationally!

CrayonInThreeBits · 26/02/2021 12:01

This is like when Tampax got rid of the thread running down the side of the paper sleeve, meaning it didn't open properly and I ended up half-dismantling the tampon half the time when I tried to get one out of the packet. Thought I was going nuts till I came on here and found other people with the same problem. Switched to own-brand, never went back to Tampax.

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 12:02

Sainsbury’s red label is a good dupe for Yorkshire tea.

You only said that to make us google what it means. Grin
jaffar · 26/02/2021 12:04

They do tear? Each pair has a perforation line. I just bought a new box! Unless it's just the Gold that do tear?

Dahlietta · 26/02/2021 12:04

Sorry, @PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears.
I will do as you say (with some Twinings Afternoon Tea Grin)

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 12:04

Oh!

Tasseography (also known as tasseomancy, tassology, or tasseology) is a divination or fortune-telling method that interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee grounds, or wine sediments

Yes, maybe we should all go back to loose tea before that dies out for good.

Thank you for my word for the day @Devlesko Smile

The6thQueen · 26/02/2021 12:05

My favourite tea is Good Earth English Breakfast tea - tea of the gods Brew
But I’ve run out and having to make do with bastarding YT - might make a strong brew with two, but that seems wasteful...

RikiTarr

I do this myself but had to google the official term myself.
Keeping you on your toes.

I have to be able to drink the bloody stuff first, otherwise isn’t it more akin to modern art?

Keeping you on your toes.

You are. Smile

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 26/02/2021 12:09

I buy it loose leaf and put it in reusable teabags myself. Can adjust the strength to your own taste that way you see. I also make it in a teapot and never in the mug.

ArcheryAnnie · 26/02/2021 12:09

Get yourself one of these, OP - it's a game changer. You can have loose leaf without washing a bloody teapot, or having one of those teeny little tea balls on a chain. Easy to fill, easy to empty - after use just tip them into the bin, or the compost bucket. And Yorkshire Tea do loose leaf!

game changer

ArcheryAnnie · 26/02/2021 12:09

And lots of companies do these, too.

RickiTarr · 26/02/2021 12:10

Well that’s fine, just treat each teabag as an individual serving of loose tea. Tear it open, make your tea then read your leaves! Smile

Snugglepiggy · 26/02/2021 12:11

After years of Yorkshire tea drinking have swapped to PGtips because the tea bags are biodegradable. Was unsure but honestly my cuppa tastes just as nice.Plus little pyramid shapes mean no more split tea bags.
