Yes the guy lost his mother in a tragic way at a young age. (So have many) Yes he was forced out into the public eye in the middle of grief (which was horrific at the time and worse on reflection) BUT he is now an adult man with a family and access to life of extreme privilege yet he cannot seem to realise that him publically complaining about his lot in life and telling the rest of us how to behave is distasteful. Also, the petulant way he seems to communicate with the media is just undelining his immaturity and lack of awareness. By which I mean, the potshots in statements and rapping with James Corden and his pathetic man of the people schtick. If you want to be Hazzer give up your title and STFU!

AIBU?

He'll be whining to come back when she dumps him.

pastagirl · 26/02/2021 18:54

That was first time I had ever seen him talk in a video. (He is not super interesting to me and I do not really have a opinion about him one way or another) but I could not watch it because of all the gesturing... all I could think of was Johnstone and it put me off totally. Is he always like that or is really poor media trainingHmm

pastagirl · 26/02/2021 18:55

Sorry the spelling in that was awful, meant he minded me of the PMSmile

ThePinkWig · 26/02/2021 18:55

He lost me at Archie’s first word was crocodile and that 18 month old Archie wanted a waffle maker for Christmas.

This is what service looks like, Harry.

wewillmeetagain · 26/02/2021 18:57

@TheKeatingFive as stated in a previous post various relatives that she just doesn't acknowledge any more, the ex husband discarded when she finally found fame. The publicist/friend than she dumped as soon as she got with harry. The literal stream of palace staff that quit one after another within the first few months of having to work with her, some of whom had worked with Harry for a long time. All very easy to look up if you wish to. If it was just one or two disgruntled relatives slagging her off in the press then maybe it could be put down the sour grapes etc but this is person after person.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 18:57

He'll be whining to come back when she dumps him

And if that were to happen (which I don't think it will) you will be brimming over with glee.

wewillmeetagain · 26/02/2021 18:58

@AngelicaElizaAndPeggy Believe me the staff all talk!

Roussette · 26/02/2021 18:59

ThePinkWig I daren't tell you what one of my DC's first words were.

derxa I would give anything to be able to get tickets for all the rugby matches for my team. It's not exactly something massive, she supports them and is their patron.

TheKeatingFive · 26/02/2021 19:00

the ex husband discarded when she finally found fame.

So you know the ins and outs of that relationship huh?

The publicist/friend than she dumped as soon as she got with harry

Ditto?

The literal stream of palace staff that quit one after another within the first few months of having to work with her

This has been long debunked, the ones the press banged on about we’re leaving anyway, nothing to do with Meghan.

You’re being played like a violin by the press. It’s absolutely fascinating.

FuzzyTurquoise · 26/02/2021 19:01

@ThePinkWig

He lost me at Archie’s first word was crocodile and that 18 month old Archie wanted a waffle maker for Christmas.
That’s a very unusual word to say first of all. The grapheme “ch” is especially surprising for a one year old to form before others.
NurseButtercup · 26/02/2021 19:01

We only have the glimpses we see of famous people to make our decisions on whether we like them or not

Channelled through the lens of the press. You only see what they want you to see. I’m constantly shocked at how little awareness people have of this.

I agree

Roussette · 26/02/2021 19:02

and that 18 month old Archie wanted a waffle maker for Christmas

What on earth would be suitable? Some huge expensive handbuilt tree house?

I think it was something nice the family could use and cook him waffles with.

What could they have said that the detractors would think was an OK thing to ask for? Love to know
I thought it was sweet

wewillmeetagain · 26/02/2021 19:03

@TheKeatingFive No it hasn't been debunked at all. That's absolute rubbish!

Roussette · 26/02/2021 19:04

Totally debunked. They were leaving anyway but hey... let's hang it on Meghan being awkward

wewillmeetagain · 26/02/2021 19:06

@Roussette links to this please?

NurseButtercup · 26/02/2021 19:07

What I object to is the little passive aggressive digs at how toxic and horrible and awful it all was in the UK. Oh and the necessity to get the last word, always. "Service is Universal". There was no need for that tone.

They are basically coming across as two people who ran screaming from the hellhole that was Great Britain to the sanctuary of the USA. When of course the US is one seriously fucked up country.

I'm not even British. But its all so negative and petty.

They could have a different tone. "The UK is a phenomenal place and the RF are wonderful hardworking dutiful people who we love so much....blah blah blah"

Welcome to 2021, what you are suggesting is in line with the 1950's "keeping up appearances" era which is total BS by the way.

MuddleMoo · 26/02/2021 19:10

Not sure how a thread querying if Prince Harry is the most tone-deaf and hypocritical royal has now moved into criticising his wife for holding her baby bump!

Can't we go back to discussing Nick Knowles?

GreenlandTheMovie · 26/02/2021 19:14

wewillmeetagain Harry is and has always been a spoilt brat! Hes much more like his mother than the royal family. Meghan has enabled and encouraged this behaviour because she is exactly the same. It's been known for a long time that harry was a complete nightmare behind the scenes but the palace PR did a fantastic job of covering it up!

I've heard the same from friends of friends. The sort of friends who wouldn't make it up. They don't talk about it a lot and are careful who they speak to, as is anyone in those circles. I don't mean royal circles. Theres a lot you can find out at certain country dances though. Harry really has benefitted from a world class PR team who are constantly on the ball wiping his bottom and what follows. Haven't heard the same about William at all.

I've heard detail but if I repeated it, the thread would be deleted and most people probably wouldn't believe it anyway. Such is the popularity of Diana's children.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 19:15

It's out there, I'm not wasting my friday evening googling it again. It's out there but only if you read more than The Sun and the DM

Sadsiblingatsea · 26/02/2021 19:15

@PicsInRed What a bizarre comment.
Please remember Thomas Markle is white and by all accounts was a supportive and doting father before he got thrown into this circus.
Anyway, this thread is about Prince Harry who has sadly turned into a petulant, self-absorbed nightmare.
And please don’t accuse me of racism. Some of my best friends are German.

Roussette · 26/02/2021 19:18

Gosh!

All these posters with inside information and know people who work for them and Harry needs his arse wiped but William doesn't lol

Roussette · 26/02/2021 19:19

And please don’t accuse me of racism. Some of my best friends are German

Aahhhh. I recognise you of old with that stupid comment

derxa · 26/02/2021 19:20

derxa I would give anything to be able to get tickets for all the rugby matches for my team. It's not exactly something massive, she supports them and is their patron. It's massive to me.

It's not about getting tickets for a match. She's a great patron and supporter. Watch her speech as she presents an award to Dodie Weir a great Scottish rugby player who has motor neurone disease but still campaigns research funding. It means a lot to a lot of Scots. You know she won't let you down. I know this will get a lot of snippy comments but quite frankly I don't care.
wewillmeetagain · 26/02/2021 19:20

@GreenlandTheMovie its the same as all the guff about Harry the army hero. No mention about him being kept miles behind front lines and guarded 24/7 putting those guarding him at increased risk! It's pointless trying to tell the truth because people just don't want to hear it.
