Would you look down on someone who lives in a flat?

We live in a flat in South London and could never, ever afford a house (short of winning the lottery). DC goes to private school and while the vast majority of parents are very nice there are some who make it clear they aren't bothered talking to me and id stretch to say that one clearly doesn't like me. I don't think I'm imagining it's happening and that it's happening because we are less well off.

Would you look down on someone who lives in a flat? Would you be happy to go around to their home? (when we can obviously!)

@Sometimesonly

I might wonder why they live in a flat and choose private school I don't get the connection?
She's saying she could never afford a house n London but sends her child to a private school.

I live in a flat. Only my MIL looks down on me for it. The insecurity comments make sense as she was the poorest in her family and she was looked down upon. Now she looks down on others.

There are flats in London selling for £30m plus. I am not sure people would look down on you for living in one of those!

I live in a flat in London and sent my child to private school. A 2-bed flat with open-plan kitchen-living room and small garden where I am is about 700k minimum.

Why would anyone look down on someone based on where they live? So long as it is clean it doesn't matter.

However that said, I really look down on people who cant see past their own doorstep. You can afford a house.

You just chose not to, as you spend your money on other things and want to restrict yourself on the location

More likely to look up... unless it's a ground floor flat
Sorry Grin couldn't resist

I would’nt as I own one. I have experienced a small amount of bizarre snobbery about it. One friend was aghast about my bathrooms lack of windows, an old manager was rude about it and a co-worker, who in his mid thirties still lives with his mum tells me how awful it is that my block of flats looks like everything else then told me I should buy an old house. My friend is a good person normally and when I told her that if she paid my mortgage I could get a bathroom with windows she was mortified. The other two have a long history of poor personality and stupidity. Most people really don’t care.

I look down on people

I live on the 23rd floor of a tower block 😂

@wondarah

I would think it a bit ‘all fur coat and no knickers’ though.

Do you think the same of people who live in Manhattan! 🤔

Straw man.
