Would you attend a wedding in July?

Yanbu: yes, I would
Yabu: not a chance

We're on our 3rd wedding date. Mid July - supposedly social distancing will be a thing of the past -doubt it like-

Trying to decide what to plan for. We're booked for a farm in Northumberland. Outdoor wedding under an open barn

Potentially eat outside but massive marquee booked in case the weather is shit

80 day time and 140 evening original guests

It's very laid back - nowt sorted really despite it being our 3rd date and nothing that can't be sorted or cancelled in the last couple of weeks if necessary

@breadbinbaby

How are you doing, OP?
I'm gutted but putting a brave face on

No dance floor, drinks reception, mingling...

Table service only so no beer keg for people to help themselves to, no cheese wheels, no buffet, no cake table... no fun

It is a bit crap

Have to sit in tables of 6

No dancing or singing

Yah for unlimited

But it isn’t. It’s if you venue has space to do it via COVID

We are allowed 55. It’s crap

But making the best of what we can

May change after July 19

May not

Workyticket · 19/06/2021 23:15

The tables of 6bthing has been scrapped Grin

Has it ? Fab. Do you have a link I can send my venue

As that’s the main problem of numbers , as in making room for all the tables

Quick update - we're going ahead! We're allowed a party of sorts and will be asking guests to do LFTs the day before and the morning of the wedding!

Just got to try to keep ourselves out of isolation now 😭🙈

Workyticket · 26/06/2021 10:29

Thank you - hoping for a normalish day. We're so lucky with the venue we've chosen

Fingers crossed for good weather for you, sure it will be a brilliant day regardless of the restrictions.

Workyticket · 06/07/2021 20:39

Thank you! We're allowed all of our guests so that's the main thing for us! The forecast is decent too!

Workyticket · 11/07/2021 19:21

5 days to go - we've lost a couple to isolation.

Has anyone been to a restricted wedding in the last week or so? Not sure what to expect!

CheltenhamLady · 17/07/2021 15:19

I hope it was absolutely fabulous OP.

We have 200 invited to an August wedding and as long as Chris Whitty is not right, that if numbers keep rising we may be back in lockdown....we are going ahead.

Workyticket · 17/07/2021 21:02

It was AMAZING

28 degrees - we were outside all day and evening. Everything went like a dream (or I just didn't notice if anything didn't Grin)

Killahangilion · 18/07/2021 14:21

Congratulations @Workyticket
So glad you had your wedding one way or another. 💒

Echobelly · 18/07/2021 14:23

Yay, mazel tov OP. Honestly, all things considered i do think it was safer to be having a small do and I'm glad it was great.

Our daughter's bat mitzvah was at the end of June just after the original 'freedom day', but TBH I was skeptical all along that would happen, which was just as well, and we still had a wonderful day, and one that was safe because it was outdoors with small numbers.
