I have a pair of vejas, they go with everything but my goodness they are the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever owned ... every time I wear them they need a half an hour warm up to soften the tongue .

I have a white pair of primark £8 trainers , they are still sparkling bright white and I am without fail asked every couple of wears where they are from .

My leather Superga mid tops are fantastically comfortable ( I've just been on my daily 4K walk in them ) and I'm gutted they're not available anymore as I would definitely rebuy them !

Mummaofboys93 · 22/02/2021 12:04

I think both are horrible, really remind me of mumsy type trainers 😬😂 Not that there is anything wrong with that but it just really reminds me of being a teen & looking at my aunt who you could just tell was a mum by the way she dressed 😂

nopulp · 22/02/2021 12:18

Fucken hell they're both shite.

Have a look at All Birds.

An0n0n0n · 22/02/2021 12:22

Neither! Sorry OP but when i read veja all I can think of is 'vajajay' and the others look dirty! I know, I'm really old

An0n0n0n · 22/02/2021 12:24

The dad stars look like something Chandler Bing would wear! Grin

itbemay1 · 22/02/2021 12:28

Air and Grace are lovely and so comfy!

Or are they both a bit wanky?
SugarfreeBlitz · 22/02/2021 13:07

@VinterKvinna

you know its not April 1st... £400 on... shitty looking trainers?
Personally, no way. I'm thinking "car boot sale chic" and of all the things I could have bought, but its not me you have to please. Please yourself! If you like them, wear them!
gigity · 22/02/2021 13:13

They are very different. I have both, I love my GGs for the instep support.

I think air & grace have the same hidden insole.

LittleGwyneth · 22/02/2021 13:52

Never ask for fashion advice on Mumsnet. If it's its not a sensible pair of Clarks shoes with cushion support, top price £50, they will drag you.

Loopyloututu · 22/02/2021 14:02

The GG’s someone posted up thread are particularly hideous, they’re not all that bad. Here’s some nicer ones! wouldn’t spend that personally but I don’t hate them. I’ve just sent for some Gucci trainers for the same price which I much prefer. I DO love my Veja’s though and wear them most days - I like the minimalism of them. I don’t even buy them coz they’re vegan, I just like the look and have 3 pairs!
I never ask others opinions though, I wear what I like. Superga’s are really not trendy any more. Converse are more of a classic but it depends on the style - my dd just bought some lovely comme des garçons pattern ones.

Or are they both a bit wanky?
Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 14:06

@Mummaofboys93 Oh my god, really?! I know two friends of friends who have them and they’re scything but mumsy type people!

My trainer was always Gazelles as I’m probably stuck in the mid nineties, bored of them and Converse though

Have a look at air and grace.

They are comfy and much better

Even on the Style and Beauty board?

Mellonsprite · 22/02/2021 14:11

Not a fan of either I’m afraid (especially not now I know they’re supposed to look trashed) .
They do remind me of some super cheap Matalan Adidas knock offs I got for dd8 for about £8.

LeaveItToWeaver · 22/02/2021 14:17

Neither - get Air & Grace

🤣

Tinkletwat · 22/02/2021 14:21

Golden Goose are like something from that Harry Enfield 'I saw you coming' sketch.

Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 14:29

See, the Air & Grace ones look a bit mumsy to me 🤷🏻‍♀️Like soft type of shoes, no edge to them or scruffiness 🤣

Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 14:30

Photo of the Gucci ones please, for some reason I think I’d feel more of a twat buying them 🙈no offence to anyone! I’d love a subtle belt or bag but perhaps not trainers 🤷🏻‍♀️

HitchFlix · 22/02/2021 14:36

I'm happy to spend stupid money on nice clothes and shoes but I think this ridonculous trend of spending hundreds on filthy looking, ugly trainers is the most painfully obvious case of fashion-victimhood to be seen in my lifetime. Though I'd never voice it out loud, I instantly think the person wearing them is a bit of a saddo, who spends too much time on instagram and has no mind of their own.

Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 14:37

@HitchFlix Don’t you hold back now..

OP posts:
Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 14:38

@HitchFlix I didn’t see them on Instagram personally, I saw pics on two friends of a friend and always wondered what are those those trainers 🤔 forgot about them for a bit and then happened to see them again after Googling trainers with stars on

I've been trying to keep my new good trainers sparkling white. Looks like I shouldn't bother!
