Just Googled Golden Goose and assumed everything I was seeing was second hand. No thanks!

Veja look much nicer.

oakleaffy · 22/02/2021 10:14

@yaboo

if you want some plastic trainers, why not buy some from Asda? Same shit, but way cheaper.
Truth right there. /\
Spied · 22/02/2021 10:15

I've just googled too and I think both are really ugly.

oakleaffy · 22/02/2021 10:17

Haha! googled these as had never heard of either...

One says they are expensive as hand made in Italy and ''Hand scuffed''

Blimey...Just go for a few runs or break out fine emery paper if you want the scuffed look.

Bluesheep8 · 22/02/2021 10:18

The golden goose ones look smelly.

I initially scoffed at this comment. Then I clicked on the link. They look as though they reek!! And £400??!! Ridiculous Shock

oakleaffy · 22/02/2021 10:20

These are new but look reeking! €290 ....What lunacy is this?

Or are they both a bit wanky?
TheGonnagle · 22/02/2021 10:20

£400?!? Jesus fucking Christ!

ShirleyPhallus · 22/02/2021 10:20

I think all the comments on “buy a cheaper pair and donate the money” are rather unfair. How do you know what the OP donates to charity so far?!

@WorryingMum2029 I’ve never heard of that brand, those are lovely!

Hadjab · 22/02/2021 10:21

Adidas (not helpful, I know)

Cross post...... We both used the word ''Reek'' 😂
Redsquirrel5 · 22/02/2021 10:22

You’ve got too much money if you are going to waste it on those especially the golden goose ones.

The Emperor’s New Clothes comes to mind!

fantasmasgoria1 · 22/02/2021 10:25

I had to look them up because I never wear trainers. The golden goose ones would be better without the distressed look and the veja ones are just basic looking. I would rather some vans or converse.

FreezerBird · 22/02/2021 10:26

400 of her majesty's wine vouchers?!

JaninaDuszejko · 22/02/2021 10:26

I have no time for Golden Goose. I love my Vejas and how environmentally friendly they are but the leather is quite hard and they are very much fashion trainers, comfort wise they are similar to converse. For some of us that is not a problem but others need more cushioning. I also love my Stan Smiths but the plastic tongue annoys me in the summer.

Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 10:26

@Redsquirrel5 It would a complete treat myself moment, which I haven’t done since Dd was born almost 3 years ago. I got quite excited about getting something for myself, for once and got doubly excited as the ones I’ve seen (very simple ones, not glitter everywhere) are reduced to €163, still v pricey for me 😬
The worst thing I’d want to be seen as is a fashion victim though, so I’m thinking maybe not!

Definitely.

The power of advertising.

Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 10:27

@oakleaffy 🤣🤣🤣That’s hilarious! The ones I like aren’t like that, hang on I’ll post

Have a look at air and grace. Also if you want that style, M&S have quite a few knock offs.

@Trainerdilemma

Buy yourself what you really love.

Don't care what others think...It's you you have to please.

I can't believe these are actually a thing. They look like trainers a drug addict would wear.
It has to be a joke surely

Anyone being stupid enough to spend £400 on a pair of filthy looking trainers is wanky. Talk about the emperor’s new clothes😲
Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 10:31

I have Converse already and they’re definitely very distressed and smelly looking 🙈
Also have Nike high tops but feel a bit too old for them, the plain Golden goose are a nice shape even with dresses etc, I quite like the dress with fairly scruffy trainer but clearly not look

Lol! Those look better...but still look like they need a wipe with a soapy J cloth!

If you love them, buy them :)

Hope if in UK you won't be slammed with import duty??

Trainerdilemma · 22/02/2021 10:33

@Keepcountingyourfingers Reduced to €163, which is still very pricey for me and something I never do. But I feel like just tearing myself, for once, plus I’d wear them all the time and get lots out of them

@oakleaffy No, not in U.K., free delivery, couldn’t bear any extra on top
