Hmm

OP posts:
TangerineGenie · 20/02/2021 16:44

It's quite a common boys name in Denmark , it's definitely been top 20 within the last few years. Pronounced more like the UK adjective than the month

awaynboilyurheid · 20/02/2021 16:44

@JesusAteMyHamster

I went to school with a girl called January......it was fine. Nobody ripped the piss out of her for it.
I would expect it was after her birthday month, unlikely she was born in February
Toptotoeunicolour · 20/02/2021 16:44

Great name. Love the three names together.

MrsMackesy · 20/02/2021 16:46

There are Aprils, Mays and Junes. Why not Augusts? Works for boys or girls. I like Auggie and Gussie as well as Gus. As others have said, it seems a quietly more modern take on the lovely Augustus.

Elderflower14 · 20/02/2021 16:47

@ancientgran

It is something like his 5 times Ggrandfather was Augustus. Philip is obviously for the Duke of Edinburgh, and Hawke is a family name on the father's side.

Lovely photos, they look very happy.

He's named after Prince Albert.. "Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel"
EvieBoo2 · 20/02/2021 16:51

I don't like it at all. Now Albert, that would have been nice. At least she didn't call him Andrew.

marsiettina · 20/02/2021 16:54

My first reaction was why name a baby August when it was born in February? Definitely not a fan of the name, but their baby, their choice.

MrsMackesy · 20/02/2021 16:56

Not all Hollys, Robins and Noels are born or conceived at Christmas.

TheKeatingFive · 20/02/2021 16:57

It wouldn't be my choice, but it's not my baby.

sixthtimelucky · 20/02/2021 16:59

Beatrice and Eugenie's names are Beatrice and Eugenie.

Posh, old fashioned names for posh old fashioned people.

TroysMammy · 20/02/2021 17:00

awaynboilyurheid I know quite a few ladies called June, only one was actually born in June.

CaffineismyBFF · 20/02/2021 17:01

Could be short for Augustus or something. Their kid, they could name him bubbaballoon and it wouldn't set him up for failure - he's a royal after all!

TroysMammy · 20/02/2021 17:01

Gus Brooksbank sounds great.

TheKeatingFive · 20/02/2021 17:02

Posh, old fashioned names for posh old fashioned people.

Apparently Fergie wanted to call Beatrice Annabel, but the Queen vetoed it on grounds of being too Sloaney.

If anyone's here for a useless fact.

partyofsixteen · 20/02/2021 17:03

I love it. I also love the absolutely shattered looking new parent pics of them too. Very relatable. They seem like a nice couple.

MrsMackesy · 20/02/2021 17:04

I don't think they are old-fashioned people.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 20/02/2021 17:08

"Beatrice and Eugenies' names are Beatrice and Eugenie."

Well if you hadn't have told me that I'd never have known. What other revealing info do you have for us. That water is wet, A shark shits in the ocean. The Pope is a Catholic. Planes fly. Grin. Light hearted hence the grin

ancientgran · 20/02/2021 17:23
**@ancientgran* it's true though. Meghan can't even rub her stomach without being accused of being an attention seeker - something which Kate did with all her pregnancies. Nothing odd about what @AledsiPad* said.
When Archie was named there were people on here saying it wonderful and other people saying it was awful. Much the same as this thread with some liking the name and some not.

I'm not sure the paranoia on H&M's behalf is appropriate.

Anne1958 · 20/02/2021 17:26

I like the name.

ancientgran · 20/02/2021 17:27

@Elderflower14 He's named after Prince Albert.. "Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel" Exactly, his 5 times great grandfather as I said.

CovidCraziness · 20/02/2021 17:30

I think it's a ridiculous name for a boy born in winter (maybe ok ish for a non royal girl born in summer) but I'm in the minority! And anyway, I shouldn't think they care about my views!!!! :)

CovidCraziness · 20/02/2021 17:30

To be honest, I think it's better than Archie!

naptune · 20/02/2021 17:33

I like it, I know some April/June’s who weren’t born in them months

JustLyra · 20/02/2021 17:35

Fergie has a massive obsession with Victoria and Albert so i'm not remotely surprised Eugenie went with one of Albert's names.

tara66 · 20/02/2021 17:36

Everyone will think he was born in August. Like girls called June are born in June? Maybe he'll change his birthday. I'm not suited to this sort of idea.
