...or items?

Mine have been:

  1. A large transparent command hook that I put on the side of a chest of drawers to hang my hairdryer on (I tried lots of other sticky hooks before but that was the only one that actually worked)
  1. Buying all the same clothes hangers so DD's clothes look tidier
  1. A large kitchen sink tidier which has instantly made the kitchen side less messy

I am on a constant mission to improve our living spaces, so AIBU to ask what yours have been?

Skis!
I doubted it but we had so much fun and the snow lasted for a month (Scottish Highlands), it was the thing that saved this lockdown for us.

WorkHardPlayHard1 · 19/02/2021 18:15

@Labobo

OP please can you link to your large kitchen sink tidier? I would love one.

Mine is a laptop stand so the screen is head height. I spend half my life on Zoom calls now and it has improved my posture.

The other best thing is block booking online bootcamp sessions. They have kept me sane and reasonably fit. I think I'd be gibbering in a corner drooling gin without them.

I have been dribbling in a corner drinking gin 🍸🤦🏻‍♀️😹

@CatsnCoffee. They are actually regatta walking trousers. I've posted a link above. Regatta Fenton

oakleaffy · 19/02/2021 18:17

Spotify.....! Music on tap and no ads.

honeylulu · 19/02/2021 18:17

For the household, a printer/scanner. Ours died about 2 years ago and we had done without one. Since we got the new one we have used it just about every day.

For me, slip on trainers. I rarely wear shoes now as I'm home so much so when I do go for a walk I just slip into my trainers without even having to bother bending down.

Dizzybet74 · 19/02/2021 18:19

Garden furniture from Aldi, HP printer, Chromebook.
Also a new (air) tent but yet to test that out - it was a replacement for our old one that broke in the high winds at the end of August!
Sorel boots I've had a couple of years and considering I wear them for a good 4 months each year I think I can justify investing in another pair.

SantiagoSky · 19/02/2021 18:19

Five chicken. They are great fun and the eggs are amazing.

A printer. Invested in A3, never used it so far.

An office chair and monitor.

graysquirrel · 19/02/2021 18:20

Laptop table and a stand thing that charges all devices at once.

dawnant21 · 19/02/2021 18:20

An air fryer. Why did I wait so long ?

winniestone37 · 19/02/2021 18:22

@crosspelican I’ve had my eye on these for AGES. Are they heavy?! I bought timberland boots which soles like tyres but they’re sooo heavy.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 19/02/2021 18:24

Door pull up bar and some exercise bands

Lovely soft yoga pants

Coffee grinder.

AffableApple · 19/02/2021 18:29

@Noflora

Robot vacuum cleaner. Just been the best thing , the purchase of 2020.
Ooh which one please @Noflora? Currently looking myself :-)
FoodologistGirl · 19/02/2021 18:31

Cross trainer for me. And cycle trainer for DH. We can’t get to the gym or out for exercise in rotten weather so is ideal Christmas gifts. WFH so no exercise otherwise.

fromcooktochef · 19/02/2021 18:36

OMG that´s amazing. Which one did you buy ? I could only dream of it as we´re travelling. I research and review kitchen tools and tips and I really want one of these as soon as we can settle ! So instead, I wrote a detailed review on the one I want Grin. It´s on my website in the tools (outdoor cooking) section. I´d love to hear any feedback there if you get a chance !

HousewifeNumber10 · 19/02/2021 18:39

Cordless small Dyson
Apple laptop (MacBook Air) and stand (has saved my back)
Beagle puppy
Lots of pyjamas for my daughters
Sweaty Betty jumpsuit
Peloton
(Most of these bought before I lost my job in July)

Lianne1977 · 19/02/2021 18:41

Also have to agree with Wellies. Best Buy especially for kids as so easy to get on and to go in garden and lots of snow fun x

Ddot · 19/02/2021 18:46

Muk luks, best skipper socks ever. QVC

helpIhateclothesshopping · 19/02/2021 18:47

I love my rubber broom and a very fluffy plush duvet cover.
The kids love their oversized hoodies
DH loves his smart watch.
A huge box of bread mix has been particularly useful.

Not meaning to take this to another level, but I bought an entry-level electric moped. I've always wanted a motorbike and lockdown gave me the excuse (going to work without getting on public transport or contributing greenhouse gases to the atmosphere in a petrol vehicle.) It cost barely more than a good electric bike (and was cheaper than a very good electric bike) and I believe is the way forward, transport wise. Cheap, green, practical, fun. Highly recommended.

Noflora · 19/02/2021 18:49

AffableApple Eufy 30C Max

Lifechange2020 · 19/02/2021 18:50

I was delighted with the second hand electric bike I got for a couple of hundred quid.

caspersmagicaljourney · 19/02/2021 18:53

Fold-down trolley to transport files to and from work when WFH
Laptop stand to reduce neck strain
Home office chair with back support (previous chair was useless)😌
BritBox
Wifi printer

Completely forgot my Clever Chef multicooker, it's awesome, I can leave stuff cooking while doing other things, (like checking the kids work) without burning anything. The rice it cooks is amazing and no more scrubbing the burnt pans. I've made cakes, curries, casseroles, pasta, porridge, roasts. When. I had to work shifts last month it meant everyone got a decent hot meal.
