Is it suspicious and should I report? Not Covid!

I say report - I mean the police but it is only suspicious to me - I moved here from London and have street cred awareness of surroundings.

I live in a super Naice Area. A stepford wives type housing estate. Well heeled, well to do, polite people, fashionable dogs and very quiet blah blah.

It's a complete dead end but has two roads in and out. It's quite large and has a supermarket in the middle so the main road at one end is busy but the rest is quiet.

I first saw this car maybe in November lockdown whilst walking with kids. Again in December twice. And again today. 4 times.

A man parked up. Windows open. (It's cold!). A 15 plate sporty Merc - nothing to note.

First time - parked up
Second time I saw him when I was driving home from work and he was driving out the estate (wiping his nose) right near where he parks.
Third time parked up - same place
Fourth time today - parked up same place.

Time always between 3-4pm.

When I saw him drive out he was alone so not picking someone up.

There is nothing to do on the road. It doesn't go anywhere. No schools are open.
He just sits there. Not on phone. Not talking. Just staring ahead.

Today I took a pretend photo of DC but actually was taking his number plate.

AIBU to be suspicious?
What do you think he's up to?

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 22:39

@Jenasaurus nope. Not waiting for a school.
There is one - with plenty of parking quarter of a mile away.

Not avoiding the car park because it's free and not monitored for overnight - it really is a naice area.

It's so annoying ! I want to know why he's there.

OP posts:
angieloumc · 18/02/2021 22:40

So you live in a 'naice area' near a supermarket that ISN'T Waitrose? Not that 'naice' then.
You've seen him four times today and a couple of times before, hardly 'all' the time.
Perhaps you should take up a hobby, you've clearly too much time on your hands.

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 22:43

@angieloumc but that's the whole point. I'm plenty busy. Why is he always there in a nowhere place whenever I go there ?Hmm
No one else is there (or anywhere else on the state like this and I walk it three times a day with the dog at all sorts of times)

OP posts:
pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 22:43

And I understand the MOST disappointing thing about this thread is a that the supermarket isn't Waitrose Sad

Nicknacky · 18/02/2021 22:44

He isn’t always there. You have seen him 4 times in 3 months.

Regularsizedrudy · 18/02/2021 22:45

I can’t tell if this is a joke, mumsnet has broken me.

angieloumc · 18/02/2021 22:46

He isn't always there though is he? Today and three other times. Honestly just leave the bloke to sit quietly in his car, I don't think the police would be interested at all.

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 18/02/2021 22:53
@Ijustknowitstimetogo but then he would drive into the cul-de-sac and park. By their house Confused
Not necessarily. If he was visiting a sex worker they might not want attention drawn. So instead of parking right outside the sex worker’s house he waits in the car until called in.

You might have to stake him out properly. Put him under surveillance and watch if he gets out the car. Otherwise your only doing half the job.

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 22:56

@Nicknacky but if it was 'normal' then I'd see repeat people all the time months apart.

I don't.

If it was 'normal' he'd be at the house of whoever he had business with

He doesn't.

I've been there 4 times at that time recently. He's there every time. He (and his possibly unroadworthy car) was there every time.

Why Confused

Vixyboo · 18/02/2021 22:57

@WorraLiberty

Yes phone the police

Also, make sure you include every single totally fucking irrelevant detail as you did in your OP.

Then let us know how it went...

angieloumc · 18/02/2021 23:00

Maybe he's wondering why he's seen you four times today.

YouAreYourBestThing · 18/02/2021 23:02

I think a diagram would help...to 'place' him on the Naice Estate, with two roads and a supermarket (ie was he buying a sausage roll?)...to try to ascertain exactly what he's up to! How else are we to work this out, without a diagram 🤷‍♀️

FolkyFoxFace · 18/02/2021 23:03

Does he look like he has an Eastern European accent?

Biscuit
Nicknacky · 18/02/2021 23:06

You don’t know he has business at anyone’s house! Honestly, you are putting far, far too much thought into this.

You seems to now be inferring that he is stalking you by saying he is there every time you are.

It doesn’t matter why he is there. He’s doing nothing wrong.

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 23:08

I'm definitely not stalking him - I live there and he clearly doesn't.

I now have to go walkies tomorrow same time. And Monday! Only then maybe I could be considered to be stalking

OP posts:
angieloumc · 18/02/2021 23:09

How do you know he doesn't live on your estate?

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 23:10

@FolkyFoxFace I doubt it but race colour and creed have nothing to do with it.

OP posts:
Regularsizedrudy · 18/02/2021 23:12

...so is he white or not?

ChristOnAPeloton · 18/02/2021 23:15

Nobody is going to be doing nose drugs in this wind with the car windows open.

If you actually had street smarts you know that already.

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 23:16

I don't mean to be intriguing on colour but I'm not judging. It's not relevant to my story.

OP posts:
Norwaydidnthappen · 18/02/2021 23:17

Guessing he’s found a quiet spot to sit with his thoughts, has the window down for fresh air. Maybe he’s having a hard time like many people right now. Doesn’t sound suspicious in the slightest. You clearly watch too many detective programmes or serial killer documentaries.

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 23:18

@ChristOnAPeloton aah but if it were indeed the white stuff, he was still waiting 3/4 times Ive seen him.......

Plenty of time to pop those black out windows back up.

OP posts:
FlyNow · 18/02/2021 23:19

Yes you should call the police immediately OP, in these tough times they need a good laugh and some funny anecdotes for the end of year xmas party.

pipsqueakbollock · 18/02/2021 23:21

Out of interest - if you have a white stuff habit, how often do you need to feed it? From a minimum?

Weekly or daily if your habit is really bad? I've not been offered any since I moved out of London 🤣

OP posts:
Bimblybomeyelash · 18/02/2021 23:24

I haven’t the foggiest, but where you live sounds grim, not naice at all. Nothing but a supermarket and a school in a warren of cul de sacs.
