To eat crackers upside down so that the flavoursome part touches my tastebuds

I normally eat crackers, for example ryvita, with the flavoured part on the bottom -- otherwise the flavoured bit doesn't touch your tongue and you don't get to taste it.

Yes, I always turn anything like buttered/spread toast upside down too!

Duckduckduck123 · 09/02/2021 12:13

That's how we're supposed to eat chocolate digestives apparently 🤔

Fabpinky · 09/02/2021 12:15

Yes I do this with Pringles

IAcceptCookies · 09/02/2021 12:16

How could that possibly be unreasonable? Confused

KatherineOfGaunt · 09/02/2021 12:16

I do this with mini cheddars!

Youvegotafriendinme · 09/02/2021 12:20

I do this with most foods and DH noticed the other day that DS4 has also started doing it.
So, no, I don’t think YABU Grin

SmileyClare · 09/02/2021 12:21

You crunch it all up in your mouth and it mixes with your saliva so doesn't matter which way you put it in?

I mean it stays all mushed up in your mouth while you chew it and taste it, unless you're just inserting the cracker into your mouth and swallowing it like posting a letter. Confused

The reason this is not normal practice is that whatever topping you may have might fall off all down your top.

In conclusion; it's unnecessary. Smile

Hardbackwriter · 09/02/2021 12:22

... are you not chewing your food?!

WorraLiberty · 09/02/2021 12:22

You watched the Ranganation last night too OP? Grin

I have to say, I agreed with him about the chocolate digestives.

Deinosavros · 09/02/2021 12:22

Italian baker once told me off for eating focaccia wrong, I was supposed to turn it upside down for that very reason. Makes sense really Grin

Sparklfairy · 09/02/2021 12:23

unless you're just inserting the cracker into your mouth and swallowing it like posting a letter. amazing! Grin

Yanbu OP, I eat pringles like this too!

StopTouchingYourFairyGarden · 09/02/2021 12:23

Aaaaah. You mean the food is upside down, not you. Ok that makes sense.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 09/02/2021 12:24

Yabu to not put any sort of topper on these crackers. They are a vehicle for cheese/hummus/pate etc surely?

LarsErickssong · 09/02/2021 12:27

Yes I do this with chocolate rice cakes

slashlover · 09/02/2021 12:28

Why would YBU to eat food the way you want to eat food?

makemyweek · 09/02/2021 12:30

Surely Pringles and mini cheddars are equally coated in flavour on both sides?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 09/02/2021 12:32

You crunch it all up in your mouth and it mixes with your saliva so doesn't matter which way you put it in

Anyone else gone right off crackers?

Ilovecaviar · 09/02/2021 12:32

It would never even occur to me to turn it upside down, I taste it when I chew it 😂

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 09/02/2021 12:33

Jesus Christ, I can get in enough mess without turning my food upside down 🤣

Have you considered chewing your food?

Oysterbabe · 09/02/2021 12:34

Half the things mentioned on this thread are the same on both sides. Wtf are you all on about?

Sparklfairy · 09/02/2021 12:40

There's definitely more flavour on the top of mini cheddars and pringles Confused

TrialOfStyle · 09/02/2021 12:43

I was expecting to find a post about you hanging off the side of the sofa or doing a headstand whilst eating.

This post has disappointed me.

RB68 · 09/02/2021 13:02

I thought this was to do with crumb distribution and the crumbs would then go up your nose so you were being unreasonable

Fabpinky · 09/02/2021 13:37

@makemyweek no there’s definitely more flavour on the “top”

HeronLanyon · 09/02/2021 13:45

This is an absolute life rule for me partic with eg triscuits or cheese thins or old style krackawheat (which used to have a lot more salt). Had lengthy back and forth with sibling about this very issue as he sent me photo of triscuits I’d sent him and he had them upside down lots of thumbs up etc.
I’d honestly judge someone (do material not random friend) a bit like leaving butter smear in the marmite.
