Come reassure me, just found a lump

In my right armpit.
Its very sore to touch/press lightly.

I suddenly noticed the pain about an hour ago and there's a visible red mark where the lump is. Its definitely not an ingrown hair as it doesn't hurt if I drag my finger across the hair follicles if you get me,its definitely in my armpit/a lymph node possibly?

But I've had some other issues over the last few weeks which are really concerning me now.

About 6 weeks ago I started getting pain in that right shoulder, like it was the rotator cuff or something was trapped if I I tried using my full range of motion. I just got on with things. It didn't go away.
For the last two weeks I've had more severe shooting pains in that shoulder and arm.
My neck has been stiff and painful on and off and some small stabbing pains in different parts of my chest and shoulders (sometimes both sides). On and off through the day.
I have lost about 8lbs in the last 3 weeks..I have lost my appetite a little... But I still eat.

Now this coming up in my armpit is freaking me out and I have stabbing pains in my arm/shoulder/armpit area as I write.
The pains are quite strong now. And if I raise my hand above my head...it feels like I'm tugging on the lump kind of..like the lump wont allow me to get my arm up all the way. If that makes sense.

My whole upper arm feels heavy and sore as well as the stabbing pains.

I'm going to call my doctor in the morning and beg to be seen.

My partner was here when I found it. He tried his best to calm me down. I had a shower and got myself together.
He's asleep now and I'm starting to let my mind wander and I really don't want to start crying and panic again so if any of you nice people have any advice, words of encouragement or perhaps a similar story to mine that might help me out do please leave it here.

Thank you so much, I can attach a lovely picture of my pit if it helpsConfused but it just shows up as a small red patch on the photo so not very helpful.

@2018SoFarSoGreat thank you. I used the private insurance as waiting two weeks would be awful and it’s there to be used. I just hope it’s not something bad, 9/10 aren’t sinister. I saw the gp yesterday and she said she could feel it and would refer me to the breast clinic. She did say her threshold for making a referral was low as she likes to err on the cautious side.

yes, waiting is the very worst bit. Whatever happens, you will be in good hands and it shall be handled. So good to hear a gp who thinks like this - I'd much rather check and it be nothing!

Hi all, me again. Just a little update.

Had my breast ultrasound on Thursday, technician said she thought it could be some walled off breast tissue ,she called a doctor to look at the images and she decided to do a biopsy (went fine, didn't feel a thing Smile) this doctor also said she thought it was likely to be walled off breast tissueGrin so hoping that's that. I will have results in the next few days.

I mentioned to her about the Dr saying he would get me a chest xray before this scan (I couldn't mention that he hadn't even put me forward for this scan ...as I would have gotten my family friend into major trouble) she told me it was unusual for this Dr to forget anything and he was usually very thorough and to mention it i
on the phone when the hospital calls with my biopsy results.

So hopefully the biopsy will be clear and an xray can show my lymph nodes are good..hoping the wait wont be too long for that.

Thanks again for everyone's help and support. Will update again with results in the week. Wink

This sounds like good progress and a very reassuring first take on what they are seeing.

Keeping everything crossed for you!

So pleased for you Notimeforaname, I was thinking of you this week, having been through similar myself a few years ago. Will be keeping everything crossed for you!

Fuckitfuckit · 25/04/2021 18:41

I had this exact same thing
I waited 5 weeks, went to the GP. They referred me for an emergency appt at the breast clinic.

It turned put to be a sebaceous cyst.

Currently takings ABs and it's shrinking. Try soaking the area with a warm flannel, it might help in the meantime!

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 26/04/2021 09:51

Well that sounds positive! Grin
