Come reassure me, just found a lump

In my right armpit.
Its very sore to touch/press lightly.

I suddenly noticed the pain about an hour ago and there's a visible red mark where the lump is. Its definitely not an ingrown hair as it doesn't hurt if I drag my finger across the hair follicles if you get me,its definitely in my armpit/a lymph node possibly?

But I've had some other issues over the last few weeks which are really concerning me now.

About 6 weeks ago I started getting pain in that right shoulder, like it was the rotator cuff or something was trapped if I I tried using my full range of motion. I just got on with things. It didn't go away.
For the last two weeks I've had more severe shooting pains in that shoulder and arm.
My neck has been stiff and painful on and off and some small stabbing pains in different parts of my chest and shoulders (sometimes both sides). On and off through the day.
I have lost about 8lbs in the last 3 weeks..I have lost my appetite a little... But I still eat.

Now this coming up in my armpit is freaking me out and I have stabbing pains in my arm/shoulder/armpit area as I write.
The pains are quite strong now. And if I raise my hand above my head...it feels like I'm tugging on the lump kind of..like the lump wont allow me to get my arm up all the way. If that makes sense.

My whole upper arm feels heavy and sore as well as the stabbing pains.

I'm going to call my doctor in the morning and beg to be seen.

My partner was here when I found it. He tried his best to calm me down. I had a shower and got myself together.
He's asleep now and I'm starting to let my mind wander and I really don't want to start crying and panic again so if any of you nice people have any advice, words of encouragement or perhaps a similar story to mine that might help me out do please leave it here.

Thank you so much, I can attach a lovely picture of my pit if it helpsConfused but it just shows up as a small red patch on the photo so not very helpful.

I hope it goes well for you tomorrow.
It’s really rubbish that you can’t have someone in there with you.
Sleep well

@Notimeforaname I've just seen this thread and wanted to wish you luck tomorrow 🍀
I've been attending James for breast cancer since 2018, if you have any questions now or in the future please pm me.
I know your probably very well informed having shared your best friends experience but it can be good to have "outsiders" sometimes.

NameChangeAgain2 · 08/03/2021 00:21

If they give you any bullshit about your age just keep insisting they do a biopsy or ultrasound. Cancer doesn't know age. Hope all goes well for you. I am a two time breast cancer survivor and I truly understand your anxiety.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 08/03/2021 02:15

Thinking of you and your appointment later today.

Babamamananarama · 08/03/2021 03:59

Good luck for your appointment OP.

They definitely need to ultrasound or biopsy you. I don't want to frighten you but I would ask them directly how they rule out lymphoma as a possibility. It can be hard to spot at our age but unexplained weight loss and the kind of pains you describe are both flags.

Zoeyclash · 08/03/2021 04:18

@Notimeforaname best of luck at your appointment Flowers

And it’s women’s day today hopefully that’s a positive

ZaraW · 08/03/2021 05:52

Good luck today. Hope you get negative results. I was diagnosed at 38, and later found out I had a rare gene mutation. Twelve years later I'm still cancer free.

Bmidreams · 08/03/2021 06:02

Good luck for today. Thinking of you.

Blueberries0112 · 08/03/2021 06:09

Could be your lymph nodes (I am not sure how to spell it) it can get tender and swollen if you have an infection anywhere in your body but you should still be seen by a doctor

Deereamer · 08/03/2021 06:12

Good luck with your appointment. Fingers crossed it’s nothing to worry about x

2018SoFarSoGreat · 08/03/2021 06:17

Best of luck today. I am sending only good thoughts with you!

2018SoFarSoGreat · 08/03/2021 06:23

I had a rather large lump at the edge of my breast. It was utterly terrifying to go through the finding, the ultrasound, the biopsy and then the wait for results. I had actually planned my whole life, what was left of it, and how I wanted to be buried! Turned out to be benign. A rare type of tumor that mimics great cancer, can grow quite fast and large, but benign. Had it removed and all is well. I won't lie and say that I eat prepared for a partial mastectomy, and the large hollow took some getting used to, but i am here and well and alive.

All to say it is not always as bad as we think. I honestly hope that is the case for you.

Lochmorlich · 08/03/2021 06:30

Good luck today OP.
I have my routine mammogram here in France about the same time today so I will be thinking of you.

Flamingolingo · 08/03/2021 06:36

I am a lumpy person too. I have one lump in particular that is very tender and grows and shrinks. It’s been imaged several times now and is apparently a cyst, but I occasionally have to be placated by my GP when it gets too anxiety inducing (family history of breast cancer).

Point is, if someone who didn’t know me as a patient examined my breasts I’m sure they would also be worried. I am 35 now, and this has been going on since my mid 20s. So hopefully today will be good news for you. The odds are in your favour.

I am appalled though that in Ireland they make younger women wait. Here, as far as I know, there is no age limit on a 2 week wait (or it could just be my family history).

olyolie · 08/03/2021 06:38

Best of luck op!

joeysapple · 08/03/2021 06:42
