Fashion group on FB sending screenshots to a members MLM 'employer'

Dogscanteatonions · 08/02/2021 12:30

There's a large FB group called Fashion Forward Bitch (run by Totes Inappropes the blogger) - the admin can be very ummm...forthright and woe betide anyone who disagrees with them. It's very cliquey.

A member put this post up - she's a MLM seller and quite rightly MLM is banned on there, I imagine she was questioning a post removal or something. m.facebook.com/groups/fashionforwardb/permalink/2830861680458984/

Anyway it's led to a right pile on on the post and one of the admin has now sent screenshots to Body Shop at Home of the disagreement. I think this is awful behaviour on the part of admin and not the way to deal with things. It makes for very unpleasant reading.

I don't agree with MLM companies at all and I know it's not a proper employer as such but still the woman may rely on the income.

Admin have been putting up screenshots from the private messages - obviously not of what admin have said though so it's one sided.

AIBU in thinking this is a terrible way to admin a group?

Nicely put @GabriellaMontez @dogscanteatonions mind the door doesn't hit your arse on your way out.

SSDGM · 10/02/2021 15:02

Was was to discuss in this case? It in the page rules you don’t try to sell to anyone or promote MLMs. The page admins don’t make money out of it so why should anyone else? If other people want to make a group they can sell to they can.
It’s a Facebook group, not a human right.

SSDGM · 10/02/2021 15:02

*what was

AIMD · 10/02/2021 15:35

Oh god this is hilarious.

PennyP · 10/02/2021 15:59
@StillCoughingandLaughing the poster who posted about Body Shop was pretty pleasant on the group and it certainly wasn't a 'hard sell'. But the admin who responded was completely over the top horrible. IMO, SHE was the one who exacerbated the issue rather than just dealing with it appropriately. I do have a screen shot actually because my friend sent it to me but perhaps it's not appropriate to post.

Hand on heart, the admins are deeply unpleasant.
We are not deeply unpleasant. We admin a group of 14k people and that can be a huge challenge. The majority of issues arise when the rules are broken. We no longer pre approve posts. If you don't like us, leave and set up your own group and Admin it the way you want to.

MacMom · 10/02/2021 17:47

Haha I bet I can guess which one you mean too!

I left after they laid into the poor lady who’s made a genuine mistake. She’d only joined a few days previously and commented as a reply to a post asking about shampoo. Yes she recommended the Body Shop, and also said afterwards that she sold its. It was one comment within a post. Yes, with hindsight she probably should have double checked the rules, but the way they laid into her was unacceptable on so many levels, proper mean girl stuff. Whatever happened to “Be Kind”?

Completelyunassertive · 10/02/2021 18:40

@PennyP you come across as a very unpleasant person on the group. Just sayin!

Thank you for your most informative feedback. I will refer to it regularly whenever I feel the need for motivation and inspiration.

The fact admins have hunted down this post for a pile on is hilarious 😂😂😂😂 hahahaha POINT PROVEN. If you don't like the thread you can LEAVE

Point proven indeed. Not the slightest concern about the issues raised or how things could possibly be dealt with a little bit better.

@Dogscanteatonions no exactly! This is a safe space to talk about what you want, people have the right to engage with you without being shut down by someone who makes people feel very uncomfortable by the sounds of it! Such a shame, I hate FB for this reason

Hoppinggreen · 10/02/2021 20:24

I have no idea about the forum mentioned and when I first saw the thread I wasn’t sure whether OP was justified in her complaint BUT I think one/some of the admin/s tracking her down here to have a go speaks volumes

SSDGM · 10/02/2021 20:28

From what I can see this admin has come to address the fact her personal appearance has been attacked, nothing to do with how they can be more kind to MLM bots who want to take advantage of a captive audience of 14,000 people.

carmelsundae · 10/02/2021 20:51

I love this post even more now! How dare the admins be criticised, so they'll spread to defend themselves and not reflect at all on their behaviour and how it makes people feel!

VivaDixie · 10/02/2021 20:52

She did address that which was fair enough but then got all passive aggressive and arsey about people saying she is.... Passive aggressive and arsey

I have been in this group for 17 years. Why am I not entitled to comment on this thread to defend myself and our members in our group being ridiculed?
AIMD · 10/02/2021 21:31

I’m worried we’re heading for a vendetta type situation here. Which side is peaky blinders and which side is the changretta mob?

Is it too early for popcorn?

Joking aside, I'd not heard of this group, but have been in similar groups with arsey admins on power trips. Admins tracking a poster on Mumsnet says a lot about the culture in the group and the conduct of admins, and it isn't positive.

Francescaisstressed · 11/02/2021 08:09

I hate this new thing of contacting the employers. About 2 women I know did it when BLm happened. A number of comments of Facebook about not agreeing with it, they researched their Facebook page and contacting their employer. Whilst they did come across rude I just found it worrying that was people's first thoughts. It's become a bit of a go to and I just find it... Worrying.

MacDuffsMuff · 11/02/2021 19:38

I disagree @PennyP, your admins really are deeply unpleasant You actively try to 'recruit' other members to pile on someone. It's a shit way to behave. It really doesn't take much more effort to say to someone 'that's against group rules, please remove your post' than it does to say 'what the fuck are you doing' and act so poorly towards someone by starting those little campaigns to belittle someone. That's exactly what you do. It's funny how you love to dish it out then play the victim when people react to it.

All FB groups have rules, I admin another group (not a fashion one) and we have some right arseholes on there but I wouldn't dream of behaving the way your admins behave, to anyone. It's a real shame you can't see it. You have people on this thread saying that it puts them off posting. I and a few friends all left the group last week and it wasn't because we didn't like the group content, it was because of the Admins.

Having been part of the group for a long time I know the stock response is just 'well leave', which is fine, I already did but the behaviour of the Admins is spoiling a really good group with some great people in it.

MacDuffsMuff · 11/02/2021 19:49

I'm going to rephrase that slightly, it's unfair for me to say that you are deeply unpleasant as I don't know you, but your behaviour, as Admins, most certainly is.

Laurynmum · 20/02/2021 02:17

I've been banned from the group as I had a different opinion on her letting her dog go over to kids playing and her feeding horse's blog. How this woman gets companies to send her stuff is beyond me. Do people actually buy into her constant crap.

FANTINE2 · 26/02/2021 20:57

Wonder what would happen if she ever locked horns with Dawn Ward?🤣

iklboo · 15/03/2021 14:56

Apparently the site has been removed from FB as someone posted a photo of a themselves having a wee mid run. She's pissed off as it's been shut down for review under 'sexual exploitation'.
