Fashion group on FB sending screenshots to a members MLM 'employer'

Dogscanteatonions · 08/02/2021 12:30

There's a large FB group called Fashion Forward Bitch (run by Totes Inappropes the blogger) - the admin can be very ummm...forthright and woe betide anyone who disagrees with them. It's very cliquey.

A member put this post up - she's a MLM seller and quite rightly MLM is banned on there, I imagine she was questioning a post removal or something. m.facebook.com/groups/fashionforwardb/permalink/2830861680458984/

Anyway it's led to a right pile on on the post and one of the admin has now sent screenshots to Body Shop at Home of the disagreement. I think this is awful behaviour on the part of admin and not the way to deal with things. It makes for very unpleasant reading.

I don't agree with MLM companies at all and I know it's not a proper employer as such but still the woman may rely on the income.

Admin have been putting up screenshots from the private messages - obviously not of what admin have said though so it's one sided.

AIBU in thinking this is a terrible way to admin a group?

I’ve seen her say before that she's a real person and takes things to heart, yet she doesn't seem to consider that when she's putting the boot into someone else

That’s common with a lot of online bullies from what I have seen.

SmoggieC · 09/02/2021 13:38

I'm on the group. I promise I'm not a duck. I just like clothes and scroll past drama.

SmoggieC · 09/02/2021 13:38

Duck or a dick either ha!

MacDuffsMuff · 09/02/2021 15:36

Most people on that group aren't dicks (or even ducks Grin), it just seems to be the people that run it. A friend of mine is still on the group but says she can't get on it for some reason so I don't know what's happened there.

@VivaDixie
@shamelessnamechangeagain
You make judgements about someone on the way they dress, nice Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/02/2021 22:38

The whole point of clothes is telling people who you are without speaking. If it wasn’t we’d all wear basic stuff designed to stop you being naked like the Americans do.

shamelessnamechangeagain · 09/02/2021 22:43

@Monkey500 the judgement I made was that in my opinion she dresses like a small child. I said nothing about her character or anything else

Monkey500 · 09/02/2021 22:46

@shamelessnamechangeagain you forgot to mention your laughing emoji though?

And if it was our kids we'd be encouraging their individuality Smile
Fluffycloudland77 · 09/02/2021 22:51

Well a quick look on insta suggests it’s an echo chamber for women old enough to have more sense all fawning over each other while keeping the “last chance” section of TK Maxx busy.

shamelessnamechangeagain · 09/02/2021 23:00

@Monkey500 sorry I forgot laughing isn't permitted

Monkey500 · 09/02/2021 23:18

@shamelessnamechangeagain I'm sure you tell your children that laughing with someone is fine but at someone is not ok.

But maybe you don't.

Nonsense. That may be the whole point of clothes to you but the actual point of clothes is to keep us warm, protect us, and is the social norm

Hello. I'm the 50+ woman you are discussing who at certain points in time has, as you point out, 'dressed like a child'. Whatever that actually means. I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you.

I'd be more concerned about how people view the way you admin the group quite frankly.
OP posts:
PennyP · 10/02/2021 14:12

Oh I really don't think you should be concerned with that. We have rules, like every other group has. Rules are sometimes broken, people debate and argue, those that kick off tend to pile in for the drama, never having previously participated in the group. It's our rules, if people neither read or don't like them, it's very easy to leave.

VivaDixie · 10/02/2021 14:18

The only kicking off I ever see is from the admins responding aggressively to anyone who ever disagrees with the page owner.

Hoppinggreen · 10/02/2021 14:25

I was about to go and do some actual work but I might just hang on for a bit

Dogscanteatonions · 10/02/2021 14:32

Time and again the admin are accused of bullying on the group, people are dealt with publicly and with ridicule. Heaven forbid anyone disagree with admin. Part of the reason people don't participate is they're scared to comment (as already mentioned on here).

Does it not ever occurr to you to think about this? As a pp said - maybe a reply along the lines of 'thanks for your comments we'll discuss with the admin team' would end a problem instead of endless comments with people piling in.

Or maybe you like the drama? Hmmm

Exactly this.

For the record I wanted to post a polite disagreement with a point made a few weeks ago but I decided against it as I genuinely didn't want the drama and pile on by the admins.

Drama? You've spent days here on mumsnet trying to generate some drama about this group.

And any unpleasantness on the group is matched by your own 'poisonous' comments on here.

Just leave the group, set up your own, moderate it in your own time so it's not full of mlm.
