Fashion group on FB sending screenshots to a members MLM 'employer'

There's a large FB group called Fashion Forward Bitch (run by Totes Inappropes the blogger) - the admin can be very ummm...forthright and woe betide anyone who disagrees with them. It's very cliquey.

A member put this post up - she's a MLM seller and quite rightly MLM is banned on there, I imagine she was questioning a post removal or something. m.facebook.com/groups/fashionforwardb/permalink/2830861680458984/

Anyway it's led to a right pile on on the post and one of the admin has now sent screenshots to Body Shop at Home of the disagreement. I think this is awful behaviour on the part of admin and not the way to deal with things. It makes for very unpleasant reading.

I don't agree with MLM companies at all and I know it's not a proper employer as such but still the woman may rely on the income.

Admin have been putting up screenshots from the private messages - obviously not of what admin have said though so it's one sided.

AIBU in thinking this is a terrible way to admin a group?

@justanothernameonthewall

I was kicked out of this group around Christmas time for being "transphobic"

I got seriously piled on and then kicked out. The admin was a bundle of fun...

A pile on is standard if you disagree with anything

She’s a awful woman!!!

I'm in that group. I like the members very much, there are some really lovely, funny people on there, but it's absolutely marred by the behaviour of the Admins, a couple of them in particular.

Last night could have been completely avoided with a reminder of the rules and a request to remove the post. Instead, one of the admins, who frankly, I've never seen be pleasant to anyone aside from another admin, responded with 'What the fuck do you think you're doing' or similar. It was ridiculous and embarrassing.

The worst part of it was the pretty successful recruitment of other admins and the not so pleasant members of the group to pile on. I've seen it on there before and I rarely comment or post for that reason. The members are mostly great, but the admins come across like a bunch of school 'mean girls' who just love to pick someone apart. It's appalling.

Thank main woman who I won't name but it's her group so I guess anyone could find out for themselves, loves to dish it out, but god help anyone who even slightly challenges her or one of her little admin minions. I won't be part of the group again, which is a shame because as I said most of the members are funny, fantastic women but the group 'owner' and her little sheep who hero worship her to such an embarrassing degree are the very worst of humans.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 08/02/2021 21:42

Without seeing the posts it’s hard to tell whether she was being unreasonable or not. If she’s hounding anyone who disagrees with her by badmouthing them to their employers, that’s one thing. If, on the other hand, some MLMer is posting ‘Buy Body Shop now now now!’ despite the rules, and then kicking off when her posts are removed, I think it makes sense to let the Body Shop/Younique/Arbonne know what’s going on. It’s her own fault.

To be frank, based on those screenshots, they all seem like the kind of people who I’d walk under buses to avoid.

You should all leave, I think often that the FB group admins are a bit lacking in RL skills and are odd.

FB group admin usually equals 45 year-old virgin.

Naticus · 08/02/2021 21:50

I left one of the groups last year when 'Totes' may as well have said women wearing skimpy clothes deserve to be raped.

I left that group last year. The fawning of some members and the mean girl attitude of the admins didn’t sit well. The quality of the posts has gone downhill too. There used to be some brilliant members-genuinely funny people.
I detest the nastiness and sniggering.
One of the admin is a 50+ year old woman who looks like a child dressed up 😂

MacDuffsMuff · 08/02/2021 21:57

@StillCoughingandLaughing the poster who posted about Body Shop was pretty pleasant on the group and it certainly wasn't a 'hard sell'. But the admin who responded was completely over the top horrible. IMO, SHE was the one who exacerbated the issue rather than just dealing with it appropriately. I do have a screen shot actually because my friend sent it to me but perhaps it's not appropriate to post.

Hand on heart, the admins are deeply unpleasant.

MacDuffsMuff · 08/02/2021 21:58

@Conundrumofsorts oh I won't be back to that group. Not a chance, it really was an eye opener last night.

AIMD · 08/02/2021 22:03

Could not follow the link because I didn’t want to join the page. I checked out the other linked open page though and see there are multiple issues going on.

It all looks exhausting and boring. I’d probably just leave the group if it’s like that a lot.

I got kicked out of a FB group for sticking up for someone they were bullying, Sevenoaks women’s network, one of their admins has a few control issues.

Conundrumofsorts · 08/02/2021 22:09

*sevenoaks women’s forum (sorry)

I know exactly who you mean and she's deeply unpleasant and rude. I'm sure she's one of these 'I just say it as it is' people who think they're very 'quirky', but most of us actually detest.

HollyGoLoudly1 · 08/02/2021 22:33

I was curious about this as I've never heard of the page, so went and checked Totes Inapropes out on FB. The first post you come to she mentions this thread Hmm How very inception like, a thread within a post, within a thread within a post. Or something. I've had gin Grin

Oh.....maybe now that you’ve mentioned on this thread that’s she’s mentioned on her post about this thread, she’ll mention on her post that you mentioned on this thread that she’s mentioned this thread on her post?

MacDuffsMuff · 08/02/2021 22:41

@HollyGoLoudly1 That's interesting. I'm no longer a member of her other page either as I hated the sycophantic tone of the page. I imagine it's a 'poor me' post like I've seen often from her. She's very good at giving it out but as soon as someone challenges her behaviour she becomes quite pathetic. It would never in a million years occur to her that just maybe she needs to alter her own behaviour. We could all say 'well I'm just me, I tell it as it is' and all that balls but at the end of the day, no one needs to be a dick.

I only read a few posts but this is very much the impression I got. Definitely not a page for me!

I clearly need to get off mumsnet and into bed.
KellyJonesLeatherTrousers · 08/02/2021 23:00

I’ve followed her groups in the past and it’s just a never end of cycle of her saying outrageous things and then crying about the aftermath when someone dares to challenge. And daily close up photos of her face with a glass of wine. Yawn.

carmelsundae · 08/02/2021 23:06

Just to agree agree with other posters, I was on the running page and the treatment of some people was downright bullying. And the admins lack any insight into their behaviour - or if they do - they are even worse than first imagined! I can't believe that grown adults think it is appropriate to treat others that way! I can imagine the fashion group being the same!

MacDuffsMuff · 08/02/2021 23:16

Seems like there's a pattern then. I don't expect it'll change any time soon. It's just baffling to see these grown women fangirling over someone who clearly only likes other women if they agree with her and hang on her every word.
