To think they were rude & we were singled out ?

Today I went to a supermarket with partner.

As we approached the entrance , a security guard and member of staff raised their voice and stated " we can only let one of you in"

So one of us went in..

We then saw other couples entering together and not a thing was said !

Wtf

Very stern and shouted at us . It was not pleasant at all. Why didn't they say the same to others who were in twos ? Plenty of couples entering .

YANBU OP and I think you're getting a really hard time here.

I've been food shopping this afternoon and saw loads and loads of families and couples shopping together. The "one person per household" rule doesn't apply to shops in Barnsley I think.

One of our local supermarkets lets everyone in-families, teenagers, people carrying coffee, kids eating ice cream. I guess it is never that busy and numbers are low so they don’t bother

I shop at the same time as DH but separately. We have our own trolleys, he shops my DPs list and I do our shopping. We might bump into each other in the store if one of the other of us needs clarification on something and then tend to meet in the freezer section so we can get the frozen items right at the end and I queue behind him.

Before lockdown, I always went alone but only got our shopping. We have done my DPs shopping since March and I just couldn't cope with trying to get both households shopping in one trolley, then separating to pay (Ddad likes their own receipt so can transfer the exact money).

I ended up forgetting so many items or couldn't get enough for both households because of the restrictions amount you could buy, I had to go back the next day and queue for ages to get in.

It made more sense, going together at quiter times.

I am really looking forward to when we can go back to my DPs doing their own shopping and me doing ours but that might still be a long way off.
