@Spidey66

All landlords are crooked thieves and have no place at all in modern society.
And anyone (apart from a shop) who takes any cash as payment is very clearly on the fiddle. In fact everyone that is self-employed is!

I read that thread in disbelief that everyone thought the farmer was mental and it wasn't the owners fault her flimsy lead had snapped.
The farmer had every right to be furious .
Tbh retractable leads should be outlawed [/quote]
It got worse. I glanced at it last night and, apparently, an innocent little baby sheep would rather die slowly as a result of being attacked by a dog than being quickly stunned and slaughtered by a professional in an abbatoir.

If that's the case, Dignitas are missing a trick by not having a 'Dropped into a Safari Park/the Ocean with the Apex Predator of Your Choice' option on their menu.

Verashat · 15/02/2021 19:27

Oh that’s definitely what happens, the sheep are kindly and quickly ‘put to sleep’ Hmm

Verashat · 15/02/2021 19:28

It’s all very peaceful and farmers are all beautiful and kind souls

So it is much better for a sheep to be chased around by what they have encoded into their limbic system as a wolf and then drown slowly or be torn apart?

Welcome, vegans. I'm sure there's a MN cliche about whatever happens, a vegan will be along soon to tell you where you're evil.

Verashat · 15/02/2021 20:27

That’s a bit thick really, to turn it in to vegan bashing. But let’s not that stop you spreading lies about a peaceful and wonderful death in the slaughterhouse.
I am not a vegan but I don’t peddle bullshit.

I didn't say a peaceful and wonderful death. Definitely one less disagreeable than one where a dog is involved, though.
Verashat · 16/02/2021 00:48

Does that include the live exports that travel for hours under extreme stress without food or water.

I wouldn’t know, I am not a sheep but let’s not kid ourselves that dog equals bad and farmers good.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 16/02/2021 07:46

@NeverDropYourMoonCup the thread about walking your bitch in heat. Wow.
Think if the poor male dogs. So basically unless you walk your bitch at witching hour you maybe ok. But god forbid you venture more than 500 steps from your front door . Also if said bitch in heat is in your garden, you must stand with her on a lead unless you have 20 ft fencing with gun turrets.
Nothing really about being sensible.
Does Mumsnet do sensible anymore or has these series of lockdowns produced a lot of arm chair specialist??

toconclude · 16/02/2021 08:17

@DurhamDurham

"Gah!"

Only ever read that on Mumsnet and I hate it so much.

I say this all the time... Trying to cut down on swearing.
Dontforgetyourbrolly · 16/02/2021 08:20

Spa days
Dont worry if you havent had a baby and you are 38 , you have another 10 years fertility Hmm
Lockdown loving

LouJ85 · 16/02/2021 08:29

@sparechange

I've just seen an amazing one on another thread.

PP replies 'I would divorce him for that alone'

The crime..? The OPs DH suggested sex while they were both supposed to be working...

Oh to be a fly on the wall in the solicitors office when the OP follows through on that advice...

This is amazing. Grin

I first noticed that in "Bridget Jones' Diary" and assumed people had adopted it from there.

Is it wrong that I laughed at this? Am I warped?

LaMarschallin · 16/02/2021 09:45

and why does MN have only one protected species?

I wonder that too.

They've even got their own board: "The Staffroom".

There's plenty of other professions represented on MN; for example, nurses (disclaimer: I'm not a nurse), who get criticised or challenged... sorry, of course I mean "bashed".
I've asked MN why there isn't an equivalent board for them ("The Sluice"?) and received no reply.

5128gap · 16/02/2021 11:10

Everyone on MN IS a teacher, unless they're a TRAINED nurse or a 'solicitor here...'
and all their relatives are front line NHS 'professionals'.

Nobodies children on MN eat cereal for breakfast, full of sugar don’t you know. Mine were raised on Weetos, neither are fat and both have all their teeth.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 16/02/2021 12:37

Every woman in an abusive relationship somehow ends up being blamed in the end . OP why did you choose to marry / have kids / live with this man .
Because of course when they met he said " I am terribly abusive you know " and she said " that's just what I'm looking for !" Hmm

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 16/02/2021 12:39

Nobody's child has an over night with grandparents until they are 21 years old .
Until then how dare they even ask , that child must be attached to your nipples for the next 10 years .
