I’m so thirsty have one for me!

Bookwords · 05/02/2021 17:21

You're brave mention alcohol on MN! Has anyone asked who would take your child to hospital in case of an accident? That's a usual on MN!

Anyway YABU, for not sharing! I'm having a glass of rose myself 🥂!

Cheers!

Marinaloves · 05/02/2021 17:22

Won’t somebody think of the children

Bookwords · 05/02/2021 17:24

@ComtesseDeSpair what's wrong with drinking alone? I love it when my DH goes out, a bottle of wine, bath and book! Love it!

So are single parents not allowed to drink?

alphabetsoup1980 · 05/02/2021 17:28

Lucky son!

Pinklewinkle · 05/02/2021 17:32

I must be a raving alchy then, as I have a small wine or spritzer ( and I mean small, conscious of calories!) at 6 whilst making dinner, as it's my only " treat" nowadays instead of dessert or snacks in the day etc.
If this was France probably quite normal? I think I'll claim fake French noble heritage then it will be culturally appropriate! 😅 (Hilariously neighbours teenage granddaughter who can unfortunately see into our kitchen says " Ooh ××××× next door drinks wine when shes cooking.....she's so sophisticated "😆.
If only they knew! 😆

Ace1185 · 05/02/2021 17:32

There is some judgemental fuckers on here sometimes make that all the time

billiondollarwhale · 05/02/2021 17:33

@Kittykat93

I think 2.30 maybe a little early for sitting in child's bedroom drinking gin but I do and have had a drink whilst in charge of the kids, normally about 5.30 if I pour a glass of wine or whatever
Isn't it all relative? I'll probably 'drink' until 7:30, then be in bed by 10

I looked at the time of the original post, and thought - Wow - 1.30!
Then remembered that when I worked in banking many years ago, I recalled that the team I used to work with used to go to the pub pretty much every lunch time and either have three gin and tonics, or six. We were accountants, but couldn't work out that we could each buy rounds on different days. Six G&Ts were reserved for birthdays, And Fridays. Grin

I don't drink a great deal now - last alcohol was possibly NYE, but I'm not certain I had a drink then. Definitely had champagne at Christmas.

I'm not sure about strawberries in gin, when it's not summer.

My brother bought me a measure. It's lovely so I like to use it.

And let's not be judgemental about the choice of fruit! It was a reject from my son's fruit plate!

Err no, know very few French women who drink like many of their British counterparts. Usually an apéro only and maybe one glass of wine with the meal, but only when out with friends, not every night.
