Call me nosey but at 25 I’d not quite got into the sector I’m in now and at 35, I’d already started on my career path. Went to university, had my kids afterwards, but was done by the time I was 30yrs old. I’ll start £19,000 and £30,000. I will admit that it has accelerated since. But more interested in those crucial child rearing years between 25-35.

25 - 30k
35 - 65k

Now just been appointed at 96k starting and I fully intend to top that up with additional hours and private work. Who knows what that will equate to- some say after time an additional 30k or so.

I don’t have children yet but am trying now that I’ve finished my training and partner willing to do a greater share of rearing so will carry on full time.

25: £38,000

At 25 I was on about £15k with a long ish commute.
At 35 I was on about £35 in the same kind of role just a bit more senior and experienced and with a ten minute commute. Sadly I have since been made redundant and struggling to find anything so swings and roundabouts really for me.

I think in my industry the pay scale just came a bit more in line with other industries for a similar role (marketing).

They say a good rule of thumb is to aim to earn your age - so 35,000 at age 35 etc.
Screwcorona · 05/02/2021 17:53

I'm 32 so will put it in my last 10 years.
22yrs £35k
32yrs £0
I'm sahm at the moment but planning on retraining as nursery worker in the next few years

HereWeGoAgainAgainAgain · 05/02/2021 17:54

At 25 I was on about £27-28k plus bonus. Not yet 35 (33 soon) and I'm on about £75k plus bonus.

HeidiHaughton · 05/02/2021 17:55

£25k
£45k
Even though I work pt now. I changed industry and had a big increase that way. Deliberately moved into an organization with paid ML and good policies for working parents.

NickMyLipple · 05/02/2021 17:56

25 - £30k
31 - £75k

ChocOrange1 · 05/02/2021 17:56

I'm only 30 so doesnt help much. But at 25 I was earning about £23k as a teacher and at 30 I'm earning about £6k as a private tutor and exam invigilator.

My husband was earning about 25k at 25 and 42k at 30

Littlecaf · 05/02/2021 17:56

25 - £27k
35 - £35k

Glittertwins · 05/02/2021 18:03

I was on £28k aged 25 (no DCs). At 35 my full time salary would have equated to £35k with DTs now.
Since then I got a decent promotion and pay rise plus gone back to full time hours.

megletthesecond · 05/02/2021 18:08

25 - 20k
35 - 10k
Change of jobs, went PT and lone parent.

underneaththeash · 05/02/2021 18:10

CeeCee2021 · 05/02/2021 18:12

Definitely, I don't believe a few of the answers either. I went part-time after having my first and am now pregnant again so may reduce days even more in future. I'm earning about 7k less a year after going part-time but I couldn't care less, I don't want to go back to full-time work.
BillyAndTheSillies · 05/02/2021 18:16

25 - £65k as a sales account manager
32 (aka, now) - £23k as an admin assistant. Makes me quite sad really but the industry I worked in has changed so much I wouldn't be able to get back in to it.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 05/02/2021 18:16

25 - with bonus (and insane hours) - about £42K. Fired once pregnant, as apparently threatening to miscarry in the toilet and therefore taking in excess of my approved 3 minute comfort break away from the phones was 'not being a motivated team player' at appraisal.

At 35 - with kids (full time, but theoretically more secure) - about £22K

At 45 - (post disability, just into full time but no longer wanted by my old sector) - £12,000

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 05/02/2021 18:16

25 - about 25k
35 - £105

Put like that it was a good decade for my career, especially as I took 2 years out 28-30!

DanceToTheMusicInMyHead · 05/02/2021 18:17

25- about £21k

35- £51k FTE (pro rata 4 days a week)

Had 2 maternity leaves in that period, and salary only really started to jump in last few years

Goodnamesalltaken · 05/02/2021 18:18

25 - £28k
35 - £17k part time self employed
40 - £31k still part time self employed

Lawton · 05/02/2021 18:20

25 = £23k
35 = £43k

Had kids at 19 + 22 so raising children throughout.

ConkerBonkers · 05/02/2021 18:22

At 25 I was on about 23k, at 35 I was on 18k, both full time roles

Twattergy · 05/02/2021 18:24

25 - c. 25k (20 yrs ago)
35 - c. 50k

Had child at 36. Earnings dropped when went back 4 days a week. But got promotions so FTE went up.

Now c.67k FTE (do 4 day week).
Always good to get earnings as high as possible before mat leave.
