To ask how much you were earning at 25yrs old and also at 35yrs old?

Call me nosey but at 25 I’d not quite got into the sector I’m in now and at 35, I’d already started on my career path. Went to university, had my kids afterwards, but was done by the time I was 30yrs old. I’ll start £19,000 and £30,000. I will admit that it has accelerated since. But more interested in those crucial child rearing years between 25-35.

At 25 - 21k
At 35 (now) - 46k

I have a DD aged 14 and was a single mum for most of those years.

25: £5200 (ish) - it was 1994
35: nothing

@zebraaa why would you let others personal circumstances make you you feel like shit? It's their journey.
I'm the breadwinner at home. The wage I earn now is a reflection of the hard work and sacrifices I made to get there. I'm not saying other people don't make sacrifices either. I just don't look at what other people earn as a bench marker for my life and you might feel better if you didnt too.

At 25 I was a full time student getting an NHS bursary of £6701 a year and working the odd agency hospital shift here and there. At 34.5 I’m earning around £44k a year.

About 25k at 25, 38k at 30 and 50k at 35, two DC in that time, but have since taken a different job and a pay cut.

25: £30,000
35: £100,000

25 - about 24k
35 - higher grade and salary same takehome for years and years because part time

I had a baby and needed to change to part time for childcare reasons.

At 25: £0 - I was a SAHM as we couldn’t afford the childcare.

At 32: £3k - I’m a full time carer for my youngest.

I was supposed to start training as a TA but Covid messed up my plans.

25 - £40k pa inc bonuses - full time role
35 - £12k pa - part time/2 kids + 1 on the way

Now I am 31 - £7,500 a year.
A lot has happened, but I can tell you hand on heart I’m a hell of a lot happier now than I ever was before!

At 25, I was two years in to my professional training at a consultancy. Went in house at 29, and had several promotions since, including a big one while on maternity leave at 32 (I took six months and DH the other six months). Now pregnant with DC2. But the last promotion was one too many for me - I'm finding the hours and the pressure too much. After maternity, the plan is to take a step down so I can spend more time with my children while they're little. Ideally a part-time role, but they're like hen's teeth in this industry...

At 25 I worked in magazines, at 43 in a small regional charity, both notorious for terrible pay!
