My eldest DS 24 tested positive last Monday so obviously we as a family are isolating.
Myself, DH and youngest DS15.
Eldest is fine and well but positive.
Would you walk your dog for say 20 mins at around 2am on a field right on your doorstep with no chance of seeing anyone at all to give the poor dog some sense of normality?
I'm lucky to have a medium sized garden but she will only wee wee there, not poo.
And having someone walk her is a no go as she will not walk with anyone other than her family.
She will refuse to leave.
And I don't want to stress her anymore as she is already stressed from having all cooped up!
So... 2 am walks for mine and hers sanity or a no no?

I'm wanting to go out in the small hours so my dog can poop on grass.
Not to talk to anyone or become within 500 metres.
Which is highly unlikely at 10am.
Even more so at 2 in the fricking morning?

Yes I know what you want to do but the rules clearly state you shouldn’t, but that doesn’t match what you want to do so you’re ignoring that detail.

WunWun · 31/01/2021 18:47

@fleurbelle

No wonder this shit ends up on DM. Hilarious. Ask a decent question.....
Come off it. If THIS thread ended up in daily mail what angle do you genuinely think they'd take?
visitorfromtheplanetzog · 31/01/2021 18:47

@BiggerBoat1

No. You're isolating. That means not leaving the house.
There are reasons when you can leave the house, and one of those is animal welfare.
davidsSchitt · 31/01/2021 19:00

"Well police presence totally depends where you live and where you go. I go out every day for work, shopping, exercise and I've have never seen any police other than on the roads with their blue lights on. I could be out walking 24/7 and I'd lay any money I'd never be stopped.

Thousands of people every day are carrying on their normal life when they know they have covid but MN has the collective vapours if someone who's had a negative test goes out in a field in the dead of night for 20 mins.

I do wonder if everyone here is actually a real person"

@AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair

Are you suggesting I'm a troll? Feel free to have MN check me out.

And yes, police presence depends where you are. But I've just asked DP on his way out to his shift how many he stopped last night.

More than 10, less than 20 was the answer. 1 fine given. But they invariably lean in towards the vehicle when it pulls up beside them. I wonder if any of those dog walkers were actually meant to be isolating.

Probably judging by this post. Great 👍

Ffs. In an emergency yes. But someone else could walk this dog

Lesserspottedmama · 31/01/2021 19:03

Oh for gods sake, just go late evening. No one is going to catch covid from you walking your dog. I honestly despair, worlds gone crackers.

fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 19:12

I've been a rebel and walked her 300 metres from my house.
No bugger in sight.
She pooped.
I'm happy.
I'll do it tomorrow too.
Animal welfare.

So this was just a goady thread then? Riiiight

fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 19:14

And to the posters that say anyone can walk her..
Thanks but that's not going to happen.

OP posts:
Lia29 · 31/01/2021 19:14

I probably would tbh. Given it’s very very unlikely you will see anyone. Just don’t touch anything (public gates etc).

fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 19:16

Not goady at all?
Surely I'm not the the only one with a constipated needy dog during isolation?

@fleurbelle

Lots of people have isolated with dogs since March - many will have done it multiple times.

Do you really think they all said "fuck it" and went out anyway?

fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 19:20

Thanks for all the nice responses.
I love my dog very much.my kids can do one! 😂
To the negatives...
You are the reason the DF recites sad posts.
This was real by the way and I'm a mere care worker but oh my gosh I won't be posting again!

OP posts:
Babyroobs · 31/01/2021 19:22

Yes I would do it.

CressidaTheHeathen · 31/01/2021 19:26

Yeah... not buying it. Nobody is this much of a goady cunt unless they’re trolling.

fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 19:35

Cheers Baby.
Cressida... fuck off 👍

Bettydot · 31/01/2021 19:36

You’re isolating which means stay at home. No ifs or buts. I hate the idea of people doing this and potentially bumping into them, I appreciate you’re talking about going at 2am but never the less. You have a garden and your isolation will be over soon.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 31/01/2021 19:50
Biscuit
fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 19:57

No wonder the DM has nothing better to publish!!!
Gobsmacked at the pompous twats!!!
😂😂

OP posts:
fireplaceburning · 31/01/2021 20:03

This is hilarious!
If you have covid and it's on the dog's fur then whoever comes and walks (even if they bring their own lead) could be exposed. What you are doing is much more sensible.

fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 20:05

Thanks Fireplace.
Seems I'm the crazy one?

OP posts:
fleurbelle · 31/01/2021 20:09

Setting my alarm for 1.30am.
A coffee and a nice sniff and poo for my dog who neither of us will be in half a mile of anyone.
Thinking I'll be safe seeing as I'm negative and had vaccine!
Thanks all

OP posts:
StripyHorse · 31/01/2021 21:24

You've had your vaccine?
Clearly there's no vaccine for stupid.

BananaHammock23 · 31/01/2021 21:51

I would 100% do this. Not fair on the dog for them to be cooped up. Aware I'll get flamed to, but if you wear a mask/don't touch anything/go when you're unlikely to see a soul then do it. Unless you live in a city then don't.
