Drugs. Be honest..

Inspired by the white bag thread, it just got me curious. I’m not a journo! Although, I suppose that’s what a journalist would say.. Grin

Have you / do you take drugs? What did you take and why did you?

I’ll be honest and go first, I occassinally use MDMA and I do use coke on nights. But I don’t have kids and I’d stop as soon as I was having them

Everything started with an E when I was in my twenties and I did smoke weed (resin, not that stinking stuff you get now). I don't even touch alcohol now.
Sometimes I think I'd like to do E (if they even call it that now) but I would like to be back as my carefree twenty something self just for a day. I am also very judgy of parents who take drugs. Even drink if I'm honest but that makes me a huge hypocrite Wink

NC for this one. Yes, for just over a decade I took pills, MDMA, ketamine and cocaine regularly. Once a month at least. I did it at parties or festivals or in clubs, always with my best friends. It was incredibly fun most of the time but I had some dark moments too and I definitely made some bad decisions now and again. I also spent way too much cash on drugs and too many weekends in bed with a comedown.

At the same time I held down a very straight laced professional job, which I still do now. If you met me you would never guess what I used to get up to. My husband, sibling and best friends all do/did it too and we're all in normal careers. I think many more people do it than you might think. Just not that many admit to it.

I stopped about a year before trying to get pregnant and now have a toddler. I don't think I'll be doing drugs again any time soon but I don't regret my twenties. It was so, so much fun. I watched Industry recently and was transported right back to it. Now my biggest thrill is a second G&T on a Friday night Grin

When I was about 22 I smoked cannabis every evening. This went on for a few years until I moved back home for a while. I've never fancied trying anything else even though most of friends used to take different drugs, it just didn't appeal to me.

Absolutely not, and yes totally judge anyone that does, especially if they have kids.

Don’t drink either.

But have noticed the ‘but alcohol is worse’ pathetic argument always comes out from the drug users to justify themselves.

I bet you were wild as a teenage.

Yeah I got my PhD in the height of my druggy years and my party crew are all scientists, engineers, medics and pilots these days. Taking drugs doesn't lead to a life of poverty and crime! None of us do it anymore, as far as I'm aware.

I mean...there's not much to guess. All types of people smoke weed, from all walks of life. The stereotype of the useless spaced out stoner is surely just that.

No, never touched any illegal substances and don't intend to. I very rarely drink either and when I do it's never to excess. If that makes me boring then good! I'm happy with my boring life Grin

I was a complete stoner from the age of 19-21. Now it makes me sick!!

No, never. Two reasons, firstly I have just never come across or been offered any. DH says I give off an undercover police officer vibe! Secondly, I spent three years working with a drug rehabilitation team in a young offenders prison... seeing what drug addictions did to those teenagers was enough to put me off for life.

Cannabis, MDMA, LSD, and mushrooms when I was younger. My drug taking phase only lasted a few years when I was 18-20. I did it because it was fun, no other reason.
Now I don't even drink and have no desire to either drink or do drugs. It was fun when I was young and felt invincible but I know I have too much to lose now. Thinking about it though maybe when I am older and the kids have flown the nest I would do lsd or mushrooms again if they were offered. I don't think I would seek it out though.

Yeah, ecstasy, phet. I used it a lot in my younger days. Now my drug of choice is weed, I find it helps with the menopausal symptoms.

I dont drink alcohol and I dont have children.

Really? No offence but if anyone smokes anything I absolutely do know, as I've never smoked - you'll absolutely reek as I pass you in the street.
It lingers.
It smells.
Regardless of whether you can smell it on yourself or not.

I only know as we recently got new neighbours and I'd be like "FFS, that stinks" and have to shut the back door.
Me - "it's like stale alcohol, long lingering, type of sweet smelling, WTF is that"

DH - "that's weed" [Hmm Grin

obviously more savvy than me as actually did do it in college lol.

Yes not often but yes I enjoy hallusigens, mdna , and occasionally other stuff a few times a year. So do most of my friends (we are all the wrong side of 40 a d professionals. )

No. Never tried anything at all. Doesn’t appeal in the slightest. Have only ever been friends with equally boring people who feel the same.
