Inspired by the white bag thread, it just got me curious. I’m not a journo! Although, I suppose that’s what a journalist would say.. Grin

Have you / do you take drugs? What did you take and why did you?

I’ll be honest and go first, I occassinally use MDMA and I do use coke on nights. But I don’t have kids and I’d stop as soon as I was having them

Never.

PinkNails1 · 25/01/2021 21:49

@glitterelf

No apart from my when my drink was spiked.
Same, when I was a teen. I still don’t know what it was. I also don’t understand why people on here are talking about legal drugs.
crackofdoom · 25/01/2021 21:50

Alcohol is predictable, usually short-term and controllable - the British problem with it isn't on the whole shared by our European cousins

Errr...no and no. Alcohol is by far the deadliest drug around, both here and in other European countries. Yet many, many people manage to enjoy a few glasses of wine a week without descending into the hell of serious alcohol addiction.

Similarly, I don't think smoking some of my gentleman friend's homegrown when he comes over every couple of weeks on my childfree weekends, or picking magic mushrooms on Bodmin Moor is directly funding the international peddlers of human misery Hmm

...But drugs are bad, 'mkay? Grin

@Chanjer 😂😂

Notnt · 25/01/2021 21:50

No, never have and never will. Been to Amsterdam and never saw the attraction either, the smell from the cafes made me feel ill. 🤢

Lily193 · 25/01/2021 21:51

No, never and I despise anyone that does. County lines is destroying communities all over the UK. It's absolutely sickening.

crackofdoom · 25/01/2021 21:52

sorry, a caveat to my above post: Alcohol might not^ be the deadliest drug around. It might be tobacco (CBA to google).

HoneysuckIejasmine · 25/01/2021 21:52

Never.

EwwSprouts · 25/01/2021 21:53

No & never.

xHeartinacagex · 25/01/2021 21:54

I've smoked weed a few times - I actually think it is a much nicer feeling than being drunk. Never anything stronger than that though.

Notanotherusernamenow · 25/01/2021 21:55

Autistic female. Struggled with connection and friendships. Did MDMA as a student and it changed my whole life. It’s a miracle drug and allowed me to access another level of human emotion and taught me to touch and be touched.
Study after study has shown MDMA and ecstasy have genuine therapeutic effects.

1Morewineplease · 25/01/2021 21:55

Not anything, not even a spliff.

LucyLockdown · 25/01/2021 21:56

Absolutely not, and yes totally judge anyone that does, especially if they have kids.

Don’t drink either.

But have noticed the ‘but alcohol is worse’ pathetic argument always comes out from the drug users to justify themselves.

ComtesseDeSpair · 25/01/2021 21:56

@User133847

If you do take illegal drugs. How does it feel to be financing organised crime?

By facilitating the demand you're more partly responsible for death and destruction than if you walk into a supermarket without a mask, that's for sure.

I’ll bite. I don’t care. Any more than I, and the majority of other people, care about the working conditions which enable cheap fashion, or that the metals used in electronics and the gemstones in jewellery are mined with what amounts to forced slave labour, or that half the food in the supermarket is produced by people earning poverty wages working in absolutely shitty conditions. I am, at least, consistently dismissive.
CrunchyCarrot · 25/01/2021 21:56

No, never. Just not interested.

WhoseThatGirl · 25/01/2021 21:58

I’ve done pretty much all the good ones back in the day Grin
Acid, E, cannabis, MDMA, coke, mushrooms, speed, ket, opium and properly others I can’t think of.
I’ve got a heart condition now so that it an end to that type of fun. It was fun back in he day but I knew people who died from ODing so I guess I was lucky.

nanbread · 25/01/2021 21:59

Yeah I did when I was younger. Weed mostly, MDMA, coke and psychedelics occasionally.

I didn't really know much about or think of where it came from as a selfish 20 something.

My friends did it, so I did. It was mostly fun, except the cocaine, which just turns people into twats that can drink a lot.

Had some incredible experiences, nights out, friendships and fun I don't think I would have had without MDMA especially, but I do regret smoking weed for so many years. It really affected my ambition, my friendships, my attitude.

But by far the drug that did the most damage to me was booze - I put myself in danger, nearly choked on my vomit, ended up in hospital twice, was very unhealthy from drinking so much.

I haven't done any drugs for many years now and don't drink much either. Don't think I'd touch drugs now, due to both the ethics and responsibility of having children.

Yohoheaveho · 25/01/2021 21:59

some in my 30's... had some fun:o
now running is my drug and I'm teetotal
(I do use 'herbs' to help me sleep tho, menopause and all that)

ShakespearesSisters · 25/01/2021 21:59

I had a hash cake in Amsterdam in 2001. I'm so wild Grin

Jjjjjj1981 · 25/01/2021 22:00

Lots before I had children, wouldn’t go near anything after

Bandino · 25/01/2021 22:00

No and never. I'm more of a drinker. Never really interested in drugs.

floopidy · 25/01/2021 22:01

Partial to a bit of crack myself...

Catra · 25/01/2021 22:01

Fellow autistic female here who 100% relates. Magic mushrooms even more so than MDMA.

Emeraldshamrock · 25/01/2021 22:03

MDNA was used by psychiatrists in the 70's.

redcarbluecar · 25/01/2021 22:04

Speed a handful of times, coke a couple of times, occasionally shared a joint. I’d probably have done more if offered so it’s a good think I rarely have been.
