To ask for cheerful film/tv/podcast/book suggestions

Lockdown has finally broken me and I don’t think my reading and tv choices lately are helping. Made the mistake of starting the year by re-reading 1984, then watched Songbird on Amazon Prime.

Looking for suggestions away from my usual serial killer, dystopian sci fi, thriller type things.

Need comedy and lighthearted viewing/listening/reading.

You need Cabin Pressure. Marvellous radio show by John Fennimore. All on the bbc website, starts with Abu Dhabi.

Modern family, the good place, how I met your mother, the unbreakable kimmy schmidt, Kim's convenience, motherland

I've started watching Superstore on netflix, nice and lighthearted.

Podcasts - light hearted and not covering hard hitting would be Off Menu with Ed and james. Evil Genius is good, although not as light hearted but funny. I've just subscribed to Spit or swallow which is two comedians talking to a celeb I think over a bottle of wine. Not listened yet but recommended by Sarah Millican so trust her.

Talking of Sarah, she has a lot of her shows on her you tube channel, she makes me laugh so much.

Schitts Creek and Modern Family are my recs!

Fortunately with Fi Glover and Jane Garvey is funny, witty and interesting - BBC
I've just watched Bridgerton. Utter tosh but it took me right out of myself and this unsettling time and into a different, very silly, world.

Was coming to recommend Superstore too. It's ridiculous and brilliant.
I've just finished them all and am gutted!

Parks and Recreation. It was similar to Schitts Creek to me in that I wasn't sure about it for the first few episodes, but it's so so worth hanging in there for.

Watched ‘instant family,’ film on Netflix. Brilliant, we really enjoyed it, funny but also touched the heartstrings

Yes yes yes Cabin Pressure! The perfect radio comedy.

Absolutely the Good Place on Netflix. 30 min episodes. Deep and meaningful and also frothy. I watched these when dp was in ICU for months last year. (There is an afterlife theme but it's great)

Podcast: Reply All. Human interest and some are a little sad but mostly funny.

My favourite podcast is The Guilty Feminist. Many, many episodes available. Always makes me laugh.
