US erasing Women - Janice Turner

It was totally shocking to me this week as a supporter of the Democrats to see Biden choosing his moment carefully on day one to wipe out women's and girl's rights in the states in one fail swoop. There was no discussion, no consultation. No warning. Just like that he removed centuries of our rights as women.

He will now go down in history as the first President that abolished womenhood and Motherhood and women's rights. I am astonished and horrified and reeling actually, even this morning. I have had a few days to process the shock, but no, I am still reeling.

It is now punishable to describe a woman as a mother for instance, or to stop a man/boy with a penis showering with your pre teen daughter at school.
Prisons can no longer keep women safe, they will now lock up male rapists (Identifying as women, which anyone can now do no questions asked) with trapped female prisoners in cells. Can you imagine being in that position? The horror of being trapped in that situation, as survivor this actually keeps me awake at night.

Men can use lavatories, locker rooms and showers with young girls. It is ILLEGAL to now stop them. It is also illegal to stop a man competing in women's sports, making women's and girls sports now obsolete. What girl is going to outrun a biological male?

We have literally, as a sex been erased completely from the legal framework and with it all of our protections thanks to Biden. Men can still be men, because that doesn't offend anyone apparently - they will not be called 'testicle havers' or 'ejaculators' it will only be women subjected to this. So that says a lot of modern equality and where we are with it today in the US.

Women have been reduced to 'Menstruators' and the highly offensive 'black birthing bodies' if you are describing a mother from the BAME community. That is what we must all be called now.

That is the new healing landscape Biden describes as he cuts out the rights of half the nation.

Janice Turner as always is an absolute legend, and her excellent article 'War of words risks wiping women from our Language' in the Times this morning is outstanding, and covers the grave situation we ALL now face. For anyone thinking it could never happen here, think again.

Read it for yourself:

marie Yes it is hideous. Their intention is dehumanise us entirely which is why this is now considered a hate campaign against women, and not a legitimate effort to give transgender people more rights. It is an insidious campaign that is designed to hurt and humiliate.

White birthing bodies or black birthday bodies - both sound like a horror show to me. Almost like they have deliberately tried to make a woman creating life as ugly and degrading as possible. Born from what? Jealousy, envy, hatred of us? How on earth has kind of language even made it past anyone's HR department, much less into the very institutions that are there to protect us? Why are people not protesting about this? Or maybe they were and we just didn't know it. It was labelled 'domestic terror' and the national guard were called in.

Biden needs to address this, and fast, he needs to answer to the world's women why he felt it necessary to take it this far.

Envy. Menstruation, pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding are the outward manifestations of being female (regardless of whether all females have/do these things) that can’t be replicated by surgery or drugs. They say “You’ll never be a woman” to those who obsess over their identities. It’s sad, really.
Black birthing bodies

This is a good video about it. Also see her other one. Vulva people.
Boy, she is now going to be seriously p1ssed, after seeing what Biden's first act was as President.
redpencil77 · 23/01/2021 15:07

Let us begin with the little things. If we are made to identify by gender - response needs to be "My sex is female; my gender is irrelevant".

derxa · 23/01/2021 15:08

@AStudyinPink

I suppose when Ms Harris ascends to POTUS there'll still be loads of celebrating the US's first female president. It'll make interesting reading watching the mental contortion!

If the Republicans have any sense, they’ll find the most gun-toting misogynist in America, call ‘her’ Kelly, say she’s a woman and then claim the first female President of the United States was a Republican. And neither Harris nor Biden will be able to say a damn thing about it.

Yes it has to be jealousy and envy, they are the only two emotions that would inspire such bitter spite.

I mean irrelevant to their inquiry, not irrelevant in absolute termsm. None of their business I mean.

feelingquitehopeful · 23/01/2021 15:10

Yes I like that, we need to affirm our sex. Every. Single. Time. My sex is female and I will only answer to that.

YouSetTheTone · 23/01/2021 15:10

I always find it so illuminating on these threads that there will be many extremely well articulated, concise, logical and thoughtful arguments laid out for why sex matters and the dangers of gender identity politics and then there’ll be some badly expressed, clunky, aggressive posts with the odd bonus ‘mantra’. It’s not hard to see which viewpoints are more intelligent and compassionate....

redpencil77 · 23/01/2021 15:14

@feelingquitehopeful

It's envy and spite that women won't move over to accommodate men identifying as women as easily as was thought, because the derision stems from "What are we going to do with them? Where can they be put?" No need to be put anywhere, make men accept them. Or a third "category" if people must be categorised.

But this is like what the accusations of racism used to be, in other words at people who were not racist but insidious and sly covert societal "conventions" that if you broke them "you MUST" be racist. Same as here, if you won't accept the erasure of women linguistically, then you "MUST be transphobic then". There is no correlation. Yet people know there are real world consequences of labels, rumour and heresay, as do the perpetrators, which is where their power lies

@AbsintheFriends

JoeBlack

My husband is a lovely chap. Not once has he ever raped or sexually assaulted a woman. He isn't prone to voyeurism or hiding cameras in toilets or changing rooms to film women in states of undress. On this basis I can't see why men should be kept out of women's facilities. I know a man and he's harmless so where's the problem?

Hmm

is he? again we cannot pass laws on this basis - statistically there are plenty of 'lovely chaps' who rape women / abuse girls. This is not how laws are passed. Plenty of people drive safely without using a seat belt but statistically we know this is a effin stupid thing to do hence the laws. Statisically we KNOW men's offending rates so letting them into women's spaces would be an effin stupid thing to do. And JoeBlack you are taking a lot on trust HOW DO YOU KNOW he doesn't do those things? A friend's neighbour discovered her partner had wired up their house and was abusing her daughters and putting the footage on the internet.
ketosavedmylife · 23/01/2021 15:21

@JustAnotherPoster00

Our safety and wellbeing are now compromised in a way that has never happened before.

Said by white americans before POC joined their schools

Said by straight white people about gay people being equal

Really? Straight white people are the only types of person who disagree that gay people are equal? No other races despise and hold a hatred for gays? There are no countries today where being gay is illegal? There are no countries where gay people live in fear of being exposed and attacked or murdered? Just 'white people'. Mmmkay Hmm.
redpencil77 · 23/01/2021 15:31

No exactly, I think that was her point, her husband is only one person so you certainly can't

Nor should legislation surrounding sex be boiled down to "Weeelll, men are OK, they probably won't do anything to women, whose protected spaces they are being allowed into"

derxa · 23/01/2021 15:37

And in sports, the difference between the physiology of men and women makes a big difference. That’s the entire point of having separate male and female sports, in the first place. Sure, you can suppress or enhance hormones. But you will never overcome the inherited, permanent effects of estrogen and testosterone in childhood and adolescence. Male and female bodies are radically different, because without that difference, our entire species would not exist. Replacing sex with gender threatens women’s sports for that simple reason." I could weep for those women who are forced to compete against transwomen and smile while they get their opportunities stolen.
Western society is urban and divorced from basic biology. I'm a farmer and my whole livelihood is based on the idea that mammals are either male or female. With the best will in the world a vet could not change one of my rams into a ewe. Sorry for the simple analogy but it's true. I have every sympathy for trans people and their quest for a happy life but their happiness should not be gained at the expense of others' rights.

redpencil77 · 23/01/2021 15:39

Straight white people historically had their opinion on record, in the language of broadcast and widely comprehended - English - so it can be evidenced, but yes, many, many more cultures/religions

Whaaaat? You don't accommodate your rams' feelings? You still call them rams and not trans-ewes?
derxa · 23/01/2021 15:47

I am laughing so hard here :) We had a cat who genuinely responded to "time to come in now" because that's what my mum shouted when she opened the door to call him in for the night. If we called it any other time, asleep on our bed, he'd trot down and pace round his food bowl
georgarina · 23/01/2021 15:52

@fatblackcatspaw that is exactly the point. anecdotes of knowing good people who wouldn't abuse a loophole doesn't mean there aren't people who will.

AbsintheFriends · 23/01/2021 15:54

fatblackcatspaw That's my point. Many of us here know decent, honest, honourable men. Neither we nor they would use that as evidence that sex-segregated facilities are unnecessary, which seems to be what the '3 of my mates are trans' poster was suggesting.

I'm just worn down from years and years of this crap - I'm sorry if I mis interepreted you. Going to lie down now.

I hear you, loud and clear. Sometimes the effort of working out what's sincerely meant and what's parody is overwhelming.

Biden needs to address this, and fast, he needs to answer to the world's women why he felt it necessary to take it this far.

Biden is doing what he's told. He sold his soul to The Woke for votes and let's not forget six figure donations from Jennifer Pritzker. I don't believe for a moment that JB is fully compos mentis. He's a puppet and I felt utter dread when he was voted in. It staggers me that so many still think it's about Being Kind. There are some extremely wealthy and high profile transgender activists behind this push and maybe people are noticing that they're actually winning and having a dawning realisation of what that means for women and girls. Too late now though. I've been resisting this since 2015 as have many of my friends. Its over JB won their battle with one blow and unless there is extreme, hefty push back it's done. But there won't be any mass pushback. Six years of fighting, threats and abuse towards the women who speak up has shown me this.

SqueakyCarrots · 23/01/2021 16:45

I agree there will be no push back.

I’ve also been saying for years, very quietly and consistently, donating little bits and signing petitions and writing to mps and my kids teachers about policy and so on, that the only part of this arguement that matters is the legal definition of women. I’ve watched friends being twaw to the horror at rapists in female prisons who are still bemused that the only point I’ll argue is the impact of changing the legal definition of women. So many people who were all in at twaw a decade ago don’t seem to get why I don’t spend every second fighting toilets or sports or so on these days. But I’m still shaking in terror at the reality of the implication of making the legal catagory of women an opt in one. I’ve never understood how people don’t grasp that this is the one single thing men need to do to enslave women for all time.

We are gelding gnc men. Sterilising gnc women. Removing all women’s rights and ensuring we can’t ever fight to get them back -because how can women organise and use our collective voice when women includes men??- while making the real world unsafe for women to exist in. In 50 years or so we will be back to real men doing real jobs in the real world while real women stay at home as there’s no safe way of navigating the real world without single sex spaces. We will seek the protection of ‘nicer’ men by never saying no and even if we did there’s no way rape victims will come forward when we can’t ensure a female hcp or police and so on. They’ve found a way to make their entitlement to our bodies a legal action without ever having to make that an actual law- so we can’t ever fight it again, because how do we fight something that doesn’t exist in language but does in reality.

I disagree Biden isn’t all there though. I think this is entirely intentional on his, and many other male politicians, behalf. Wealthy trans activists just gave them the easy way of re establishing the way they want things to be. This is entirely strategic. Completely intentional. And there’s no way out once it’s done.
