I get dressed everyday. I also still work out of our house part time at the moment. Couldn't not get dressed even if shower is at half 11. Need to for my mental health

Yesterday was the first time I dressed in weeks. Dp takes the dog and the dps go out on their bikes around the block. I just wear the top I sleep in under a jumper and put clean pants and pj bottoms on in a morning.

NoSauce · 19/01/2021 16:43

God no, I’d be even more depressed. I get dressed and put a bit of makeup on every day.

StCharlotte · 19/01/2021 16:54

Dreams of a blast of ozone from the sea...

OP please get your arse down to the beach. Do it for those of us trapped in landlocked suburbia. Pleeeeease?

Daphnise · 19/01/2021 16:59

The old fashioned advice would be to pull yourself together.

And since there is little help available to you at the moment from external sources, that is what you need to do.

That advice became old fashioned because it was crap.
pawivy · 19/01/2021 17:06

I'm exactly the same.

Had a baby mid December. Have not got dressed since.

I put on clean pyjamas every morning and night. I live in the middle of absolutely nowhere and take toddler and baby out for a walk twice a day in my pyjamas.

Toddler is dressed and fed.

I am not.

Just don't see the point.

itsgettingweird · 19/01/2021 17:10

I do get dressed but I do get the sentiment.

I'm in them a lot more!

Get dressed as work in school and don't think they'd appreciate my PJs and also for a walk at weekends.

But I'm in them as a soon as I get home and at weekends only change to go out!

I wear black gym leggings and some variant of a black t shirt everyday because I am walking every night so the same three outfits are on wash dry rotate because there's no point wearing anything else at the min.

Darbs76 · 19/01/2021 20:24

God no I have to get dressed for 7am daily, as I do my workout soon after. Even if I wasn’t doing that I’d have to get dressed. I have video calls for work so no way I’m sitting there in PJ’s plus I have a dog. For me keeping a good routine really helps me

user1487194234 · 19/01/2021 20:37

Each to their own,but it’s not for me

Dressed ,hair and make up done every day
Except Sunday when hair goes in a ponytail and no make up
Still get dressed

sqirrelfriends · 19/01/2021 21:06

Sorry no, I haven't had a pyjama day since uni. Though I will admit that I could have been driven to it if I didn't have a small DS to take out for exercise.

mumofthemonsters808 · 19/01/2021 21:19

I get dressed everyday to WFH just into my joggers and hoodie, then at weekend I straighten my hair and put some make up on, nice jeans and top. I associate my PJs with being poorly or an early night, I couldn’t handle being in them all the time.

BashfulClam · 19/01/2021 21:33

I haven’t left the house since Saturday. It’s dark before I finish work and i am bored to tears walking round my local area. I’ve been wearing a slight t shirt and pj bottoms most days. Keeping my clothes in good condition for when it’s fine to get dressed again.

Lemons1571 · 19/01/2021 22:56

I haven’t been out for days either. How on earth do you all find the time? By the time I’ve worked a full day, organised 3 meals and crammed in homeschool, it’s dark. DH is out of the house 7am -7pm so I can’t leave the kids alone anyway. My only option is an aimless walk after 7pm in the dark and rain, around a housing estate. I know people say it’s good for you but I just can’t see why I would want to do this. If I can’t do the things I’d like to do then why would I do things I don’t want to do!

I do get showered and dressed every day though.

Macncheeseballs · 19/01/2021 22:58

Blimey, I'd love to live 10 mins from a beach

BashfulClam · 19/01/2021 22:59

@Lemons1571 exactly how I feel. I finish at 5.30, it’s dark in Scotland and cold. I don’t want to walk aimlessly in the dark.

Norwayreally · 19/01/2021 22:59

I don’t own pyjamas, I sleep in a T-shirt and knickers. I haven’t worn pyjamas since childhood.

louisejxxx · 19/01/2021 23:01

Not quite, but close. It’s normally joggers for me...I got several new pairs for Xmas after realising I didn’t own enough for the current situation we find ourselves in!

I might stay in my pyjamas for 1 day at the weekend if we don’t need to go anywhere, then put a fresh pair on for bed.

Iknowwhatudidlastsummer · 19/01/2021 23:04

Lemons1571

I just plonk my kids in front of the tv with their lunch and give them 1 hour break, and go for a jog! Early morning is too cold and far too dark, evening same. You can't do that obviously.

I take my kids out in the morning or ideally afternoon, not much done but they would drive me insane if they don't let go of some energy too.

Sometimes we all go on a bike ride and have a long lunch break that way.

I prioritise my exercise over my house, which is rather neglected but liveable so far.

FlyingPandas · 19/01/2021 23:08

I can never understand this mindset. I remember being horrified when pregnant with my first baby when people said things like “ha, you’ll still be in your pyjamas by 3pm!” The thought of that made me feel ill.

Three DC later I can absolutely say I was never, ever still in my pyjamas at 3pm!

I have to shower, wash hair, get dressed, put on a bit of makeup every day, regardless of whether I’m leaving the house or not. For me it’s fundamental basic self care and the minute you let that drop it’s a slippery slope.

I would be really worried about a friend or family member who stayed in their pyjamas all day tbh.

Chimeraforce · 19/01/2021 23:13

No. I may wfh in a onesie to reduce heating bills. But afterwards, I get dressed and walk 2-3 miles. I'm getting fatter still though 😧
My partner would say something if I never dressed or never left the house. And I am an unsociable person.
Try a walk every other day to start x x

lunalulu · 19/01/2021 23:19

I wear three choices of leggings and te jumpers. Just wash and rotate. Yes zero zero incentive to dress up ☺️
