It quite, but much more than last lockdown in March. I didn't at all then, but I'm definitely much lazier this time. It's been a stressful time and it's difficult managing homeschooling, work and everything else.

LST · 20/01/2021 18:52

@sethy38 I have 2 kids. Both are completely fine. They understand that I have mobility issues and struggle sometimes. Let's hope a judgemental arse like you doesn't have any ay!

peak2021 · 20/01/2021 19:07

YABU. Getting dressed to go out of the house even if you only get as far as the dustbin is something you should do each day. I have not put on 'work' clothes since wfh for the last 10 months but always get dressed at the same time as if I was going to travel to work.

But why do you feel people 'should' ? My mental health would suffer if I was making a charade of going out somewhere if I was just going to the bin or out for a walk on my own. I don't wear my pjs on a walk but leggings which are basically just pjs by another name. I also don't wear pjs in bed so don't associate them with sleeping like another poster suggested. It's great that everyone is so diverse in their likings and habits surely? It would be a boring world if we were all the same.

You have mobility issues. Surely you can grasp that wasn’t the scenario I was referring to. Surely Confused

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 20/01/2021 19:17

When I started WFH last March, I always got dressed in work clothes.
Just so I could take them off and change at the end of the working day. With no commute, this helped me separate 'work-time' from 'not-work' time.

katienana · 20/01/2021 19:19

Nope I put on make up get dressed even if in joggers and a hoodie and take my kids out for a walk every day, even in the pissing rain.
Also can't get a delivery slot anyway so I have to go out to buy food.

LST · 20/01/2021 19:22

@sethy38 regardless of if someone has mobility issues or if someone is just fucking struggling a bit with the situation, some people, me especially reading your vile comment, has made me feel like fucking shit. So thanks for that.

Babyroobs · 20/01/2021 19:26

Must admit I live in leggings and t- shirts and sometimes go all week without washing my hair as all I do is walk the dog and pop to the supermarket. I do make a bit more of an effort for the work weekly zoom meeting but that's about it.

Someone1987 · 20/01/2021 19:30

Not for me. Even if I didn't go out (unfortunately I have to as a school worker) I have always and would get dressed. Lounging about in PJ's makes me feel really low

Dentistlakes · 20/01/2021 19:42

It’s easily done but you are doing yourself no favours, especially at the moment. Get up, have a shower, get dressed and get yourself out. The more vigorous the exercise the better, but a brisk walk at the very least.

It’s a viscous cycle, it really is and it’s so easy to let yourself sink into it without realising,

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 20/01/2021 19:54

I think it might be good to make a wee bit of effort - you will probably feel better for it even if it’s just leggings and a cosy jumper. On work days I do hair, makeup, and proper clothes - jeans/jumper rather than work clothes though at the moment. On not work days I am in lounge clothes, and I also change into these as soon as I close my laptop. (For actual bed I wear a nightshirt.)

Back in March I knew my mental health would be shot if I just drifted about in pjs all day. (Also I am on video calls a LOT!)

You have a mobility issues
Shouldn’t make you feel shit

If someone has children and not ever getting dressed or going out because they simply can’t be arsed if nothing open or going on - then yeah, they should feel a little shit

waterlego · 20/01/2021 19:59

I get out of my PJs when I walk the dog or go to the supermarket. Then I put them back on when I get home.

Isababybel · 20/01/2021 20:03

I haven't been out of maternity leggings since giving birth 5.5months ago! And haven't touched makeup since last march. I barely recognise myself anymore tbh.

waterlego · 20/01/2021 20:06

What’s with all the advice to have a shower and ‘do your hair’? I don’t think the OP said she hadn’t had a shower since Xmas 🤔

As for hair, I only ‘do’ mine if I’m going to a social event. Otherwise I keep it clean and give it a brush every morning. Does that constitute ‘doing’?

NoJetter · 20/01/2021 20:10

No I have to get dressed every day. I was housebound from June - December with a horrendous slipped disc. I had spinal surgery in December and can thankfully walk a bit leave the house now. When I was stuck inside I made myself get dressed every morning or I’d have completely lost the plot not leaving the house and staying in my pjs.

BackforGood · 20/01/2021 20:12

I've only read P1 and P11, but I can't get my head round the fact you haven't got dressed since Christmas, let alone no left the house at all.

I spend most of my days in pretty casual clothing, but still, I feel SOOOO much better for even a short walk round the block, like I did this afternoon.

waterlego · 20/01/2021 20:15

@Ace1185 OP did say she showers and washes but then, why go to the effort of that to then just put PJs back on?

This is strange logic!

Because showering and washing is for the purpose of keeping clean. That cleanliness will not suddenly be diminished by the clothes one puts on after the shower. Shower followed by clean PJs = bliss, at any time of the day.

dayslikethese1 · 20/01/2021 20:17

I don't necessarily agree with pps that you have to go on a walk EVERY day but I do agree that getting outside helps the mood. I try and go on a proper walk every wknd and in between I go out for little bits (to the shops or into the garden etc.) but it depends how you feel really. You said you feel a bit in a rut so maybe getting into a routine taking your dog out could help. I don't personally wear pjs in the daytime except when I'm having a duvet day occasionally but I do wear comfy clothes for to WFH. I do think it helps psychologically to have different clothes for working in than for sleeping in.

Emeraldshamrock · 20/01/2021 20:18

You're stuck in a rut it happens. You'll feel much better making small changes.

HandlebarLadyTash · 20/01/2021 20:20

I get it.
Wearing the same tops / Jeans in rotation.
Early days experimented with how long I could go between hair washes.
Dreading going back to the office.

Toffeefee23 · 20/01/2021 20:28

I don’t really have PJs as such but yes I wear lounge wear pretty much all the time now unless I’m in sportswear for exercise.

So loungewear in morning, do exercise in sports kit, shower & straight back into a clean set of loungewear.

Occasionally throw jeans on & feel dressed up!

waterlego · 20/01/2021 20:29

Those who aren’t getting dressed and don’t have any motivation to do anything.... I really hope you don’t have children.

What if I wear PJs for most of the day but still do things? Is that ok?

Take your children outside?
