I feel similar. I'm in tracksuit bottoms at the moment, no shower this morning and haven't washed my hair in days.
I do go jogging and that forces me to have a shower.
However, my hip hurts now and I know if I have to give up the jogging that will have a negative effect.

Beebityboo

Don't beat yourself up, you are the most important person in your children's life. Up to today you had a resting period, it's fine. You can only plan from today, tomorrow and make small steps.

Please do not be scared to ask for help! I am not a specialist but pretty sure it gets worst if you do go into the habit of staying in at all time.

You are not letting them down, you started medication already, that's a massive step! You recognised a problem and worked on it. There's nothing else anyone would do.

Don't be afraid to ask (on this forum too) for help with your agoraphobia, start your own thread. Other posters have the same experience and will have good tips.

There's no such thing as a perfect parent (once you have kids that is Grin ), you can only do your best, one day at a time.

I MAKE myself get showered and dressed . The prize is a day on the sofa watching netflix.

If I'm not in pyjamas in in my workout clothes. That's it. I just have no motivation to get dressed nicely for the sake of sitting at home, or popping out to Tesco. I only do one mid week top up shop, I get all my other bits delivered so again just no point getting dressed properly 😅

Frazzled2207 · 19/01/2021 12:35

wow if beach was only 10 minutes away I would be there every day. PJs all day every day not for me but not the end of the world. Not going out for fresh air and proper exercise would drive me bananas. I think you should try and go out for at least half an hour a day or less often for longer periods. It gives me a heck of a lot more focus and helps my mental health enormously.

MatildaTheCat · 19/01/2021 12:39

There is a very good reason that we are allowed outside every day for exercise and that’s because staying indoors 24/7 is appalling for your well-being.

Get showered and put on a bit of makeup. Choose a nice warm outfit that you actually put together and then get yourself and your dog down to that beach. Don’t forget a hat and gloves. If the cafes are open have a coffee or if not maybe take a small flask.

Then do this or a different walk Every. Single. Day. Preferably with your partner or a friend.

There is no way you won’t feel better.

On a nice day consider taking some photos. Then consider if some are worth framing and printing. Look around the house for little projects that will cheer you. Plant some seeds and grow some herbs. Go through your recipe books and cook some different food. Read a book recommend by a friend.

You can do this.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 19/01/2021 12:40

God op, beach ten minutes away (you are so lucky, luckier than many!) and you keep to your garden? Why? Because of takeaway coffees and teas?! Surely if that bothers you you can keep away from those bits- although arguably there’s more risk going to Tesco which you said you would do on Friday?!

It’s odd, I’m quite confused by the whole thing. Unless you have got quite severe anxiety, and if so it needs addressing.

augustusglupe · 19/01/2021 12:42

I have day time and nighttime PJs at the moment. Daytime is more loungewear so at least I feel more dressed. Every other day we go out for a nice big walk though.
Try and at least get out a few times a week for some fresh air, you'll feel better for it.

caperplips · 19/01/2021 12:47

I have to get dressed Mon- Fri as on work zooms. I was dressing top half very half heartedly & wearing leggings/ pjs on bottom half but I stopped that as it made me feel utterly crap.
I dress in jeans & layers of tops. I wear makeup & jewellery & perfume every day
I feel so much better now

Ponoka7 · 19/01/2021 12:49

With the wind the way it is on the coast, tbere isn't any danger from people getting a coffee.

I'm my DD's childcare bubble, so I've been out, travelling on public transport etc. On the days I don't, which can be four day strechers, I feel rubbish. I've got a cross trainer I use but it isn't the same, nor is just going in the garden.

OP, start going for a daily walk again.

Metallicalover · 19/01/2021 12:57

@IWillWearThatGlitteryWoolly can I ask what do you wear on your feet in the house? I'm intrigued that you find slippers inappropriate. So wondering what else you wear on your feet? Apart from socks or tights?

likeamillpond · 19/01/2021 13:00

OP I was a bit like you during the first lockdown. I lived in leggings and hoodies and I came out of it nearly 2 stone heavier. I find its too easy to get fat when you're wearing stretchy clothes.
It took me the whole of summer to lose some of the excess weight and I still have a way to go.
I'm determined not to fall into the same trap this time so,
This lockdown I am forcing myself to wear things that are more structured. That way if the waistband starts her to get a bit tight I know I to rein it in a bit when it comes to food and drink. That plus forcing myself to go out walking and running on a daily basis.
I feel your pain though. It's tough.
You just want to slob about in thisweather.

I can't speak for the poster, but in my house we wear... shoes Confused
What else can you wear?

Muddy wellies and wet shoes stay at the door, but I just wear normal shoes? Usually converse or uggs if I am too cold.

dyslek · 19/01/2021 13:09

yep, walk the dog in mine. Sling a coat on and no one is any the wiser Grin

Ace1185 · 19/01/2021 13:12

Not healthy at all! Even if you are only wearing leggings and a hoodie at least get showered, hair washed and dressed everyday. A little mascara and lip balm. A walk. You are causing your problems

SmidgenofaPigeon · 19/01/2021 13:13

@Ace1185 OP did say she showers and washes but then, why go to the effort of that to then just put PJs back on? Confused

Imissmoominmama · 19/01/2021 13:16

Wearing pyjamas makes me tired. I have to go out for a walk each day too, or I start to feel low. The weather makes me feel more alive.

Keratinsmooth · 19/01/2021 13:19

I get dressed everyday, contact lenses and make up. Then I feel ready to face the day. Even if I don’t set foot outside! I would slip into low mood if I didn’t get dressed. I do wear slippers in the house though, boots ready by the door

userxx · 19/01/2021 13:19

@rainsnownblow

We are lucky the beach is only 10 mins away so might make an effort to go for a walk down there. Although it's been so busy as a couple of cafes have opened up down there for takeaway.
Get yourself down there for a coffee then, blow the cobwebs away. You need to get a routine going that involves leaving the house and I'm 99.9% sure you'll start to feel better and more in the land of the living.

You are so lucky! I would absolutely be there every day with my dog, the fresh air blowing the cobwebs away. How could that not make you feel better?
Justgorgeous · 19/01/2021 13:30

I put something different on every day and wear perfume, today I’m wearing a dress with thick tights. I couldn’t live like that.

HintOfVintagePink · 19/01/2021 13:31

I find using energy makes me more energetic. If I go for a quick walk I find motivation to do other things too. Set a small goal and you’ll feel better.

Metallicalover · 19/01/2021 13:34

@Iknowwhatudidlastsummer and @IWillWearThatGlitteryWoolly
Shoes to me in the house is a no to me as I don't want dirt treaded through the house. Also I couldn't get comfortable wearing shoes indoors.
I wear socks or slippers. I don't associate slippers with night time, more a comfortable house shoe

@IWillWearThatGlitteryWoolly good taste in music 🤘
