Sounds awful. Really awful. But really... self imposed! You’re not suffering from depression that you mention so haul arse OP.

Shower, wash hair, clean clothes, get out for a walk and on the way stop by for a few groceries.

In a single parent, so I really don’t do it for anyone else but myself. But every day, showers, a clean outfit, exercise, fresh day. Every day without fail and I swear that it has meant that lockdown has not half as badly impacted me than if I had moped around all day.

Plus I think of those around. My children. No bloody way do I want to drag them down with me mood.

curedragon · 19/01/2021 11:10

I wear what is essentially glorified "day pyjamas" - leggings, jumpers, joggers etc.

Same difference!

islockdownoveryet · 19/01/2021 11:11

The odd day is nice but for me it would be a slippery slope . I’m feeling a bit down today as it is today but I’ve showered dressed in jeans & jumper and blow dried my hair . I’ve driven to the tip to take some stuff that I’ve been meaning to take forever ( the excitement) . But I’m still feeling meh I have to go out for a walk every day or I feel rubbish but everyone’s different.

Sethy38 · 19/01/2021 11:11

And it’s the little things.

Every day I spray perfume on me. Little touch for no one but... me

oneglassandpuzzled · 19/01/2021 11:14

@tobedtoMNandfart

I get it. 99.99% of my wardrobe hasn't been worn in over a year.

What about fresh air & exercise though?

I just couldn’t live like that. Fresh air? Shops? In pyjamas?
TrialOfStyle · 19/01/2021 11:17

@Iamthewombat

No. I thought it was important to keep wearing clothes with a waistband, in order to (sometimes) resist the siren call of the leftover Christmas chocolate!
I really wish I had done that over the past year! I wore joggers and stretchy things that it came as a huge shock when my jeans wouldn’t button up.

Now I am making an effort to get dressed each day.

CharityDingle · 19/01/2021 11:17

It feels good, OP, honestly, to put on proper clothes. Even once or twice a week.

I wear trackies most days but sometimes for a zoom call or something, it feels nice to put on something a bit smarter.

Robbybobtail · 19/01/2021 11:18

Get some nice loungewear or exercise gear (I’ve been living in my running leggings they’re so comfy - but a step up from pyjamas).

Get out for a walk and don’t make excuses - having a dog should motivate you. It will make you feel better.

sararh · 19/01/2021 11:19

I do the same, OP. I've gone into some form of hibernation. My PJs are basically joggers and a top and I end up not getting changed for three or four days (apart from undies), then get a shower and putting on a fresh set. So I go through two outfits a week. I also work from home and don't get out for walks.

I know it's not ideal, but the thought of getting dressed and going for the same walk around the block isn't ideal either. I've always been a person who can easily spend a weekend in bed to recharge after being in work all week (pre-lockdown). Some people can't contemplate that at all, but I'll lie there dozing, go on the computer for a bit, read for a bit and doze a bit more. With lockdown, I barely ever get out of bed now. In the first few months, I did move to another room to work and get dressed and go for a walk, but I didn't feel any better for it so eventually stopped. I think I've just restructed lockdown in my head as a period of rest and that's what I'm doing.

Lovemusic33 · 19/01/2021 11:19

I have kind of got stuck in this loop too. During the first lockdown I got dressed every day and went for a walk every day before home schooling. This time I’m spending more time in pj’s and less time exercising. I really need to stop being a lazy slob but it’s hard, especially when the weathers horrible and my pj’s are so comfy (due to gaining a bit of weight, my jeans are no longer comfy). I work out of the house once a week so I do get dressed on that day it the rest of the week I’m mainly in PJ’s or yoga pants.

Annonymiss123 · 19/01/2021 11:23

@mynameiscalypso

I have started wearing my nicer clothes on a day to day basis - they weren't getting any wear and there seems less point for saving them for when the pandemic is over the longer this goes on. I also put perfume etc on even though I'm just sat working in my bedroom.
Same here. I had been wearing trackies most days but I was starting to feel really "dowdy".
CheltenhamLady · 19/01/2021 11:24

OMG No!

Even wfh you need a routine that makes you feel like there is some normality.

Up at usual time, shower, dress (comfortably but smartly) and light make up.

It is easy to slip into a rut OP. Try and find some motivation and do get some fresh air and even the minimal socially distanced interaction with others you get whilst out walking the dog.

Hollyoakswatcher · 19/01/2021 11:24

Have done exactly the same as you, if you’re happy then ignore everyone else. We are meant to be staying at home, you have a garden so getting fresh air. I’ve been doing exercise in my house, if everyone only went out when essential we wouldn’t be in the situation that we are now.

borntohula · 19/01/2021 11:26

That many people on this forum have 'barely (or just not) left the house since March' I'm surprised you're getting the responses you are. It's not exactly a shocker that staying indoors almost 24/7 is really fucking bad for you and completely abnormal. I feel out of sorts if I don't leave the house for a day yet people are actually willing to subject themselves and their children to that for 'as long as it takes' apparently.

Sunshineandflipflops · 19/01/2021 11:26

My uniform is mostly joggers and a hoodie right now but I go out for a walk every day so that makes me put on a pair of jeans every day and then I get changed once I'm home for the day. I don't like being in PJ's during the day and it does nothing for my motivation.

GypsyLee · 19/01/2021 11:27

I have to get dressed due to mental health reasons.
But it's never smart anymore, usually jeans and sweater.
I think if it doesn't affect you why bother.
Do be careful of your mh thugh, but you said you work so you have structure to your day.

SummerHouse · 19/01/2021 11:28

Hey, I am all for PJs but GET DRESSED WOMAN!

PJs are a treat at the end (6pm) of the day.

Come on, you can do this!

ItsNotRainingToday · 19/01/2021 11:34

I am wearing more or less the same WFH clothes - joggers and a t shirt or jumper, but do change to go out for walks or to collect food.

I have made the effort to apply full make up (which I do anyway) and do my nails.

On Zoom work calls I'll take more time with my hair and try to look decent!

It's a moral boost if nothing else.

I am a bit disappointed that clothes I bought earlier last year are still in their bags and with labels on.

Solina · 19/01/2021 11:34

I have been in my lounge wear since March tbh and my bras barely get used at all. I have bought more range to my lounge wear over the year though (online obviously Wink ). The only time I get properly dressed is if I go out for excercise or the very rare trip to the shops.
It is more comfortable so don't see why I should bother to dress up if I am happier in my lounge wear.

Livpool · 19/01/2021 11:35

It is very easy to do what you do OP and I was the same for a few weeks. But now I get dressed, sometimes even put tan or make up and straighten my hair.

It makes me feel better xx

Livpool · 19/01/2021 11:35

Sorry for erroneous kisses 🤦🏼‍♀️

HoppingOnSteppingStones · 19/01/2021 11:36

I always put comfies on in the house. Even if I'm home and hour ill put pj bottoms on. I can't be in jeans or anything indoors.
I have more pj's than clothes.
But I would say at some point most days I get dressed whether that's pre school run. Trip to park. Go for walk or to the shop if need anything.

TTCat39 · 19/01/2021 11:36

Hi @rainsnownblow - I totally understand why you feel this way. I have days in lockdown where I just can't see the point in anything. Although a light at the end of the tunnel seems a long way away, the thought of getting back to 'normal' after all this time does worry me, so I try and make sure I'm ready to hit the ground running when that happens, and not have to re-hab myself when I am expected to be sociable / travel for work again etc.
Stay well. x

CruCru · 19/01/2021 11:38

The problem with wearing pyjamas all day is that there's no psychological divide between work and sleep. If you're working hard then stay in the same outfit, how do you switch off?

Stillgoings · 19/01/2021 11:44

Not me as I still have to go out to work. But on days in I am a big fan of Lucy and Yak's elasticated trousers. Feel like pjs but are not.
Also really do make yourself go for a walk. Everyday. You will feel so much better and brighter. You'll notice things like the snowdrops appearing and it still being light (just) at 5pm. Things are getting better OP, slowly but surely.
