pucca · 30/10/2007 20:31

Smee...Go for it, sounds like you deserve it...so why not

Wordsmith · 30/10/2007 20:43

What on earth is the point of this thread? Of course you're not being unreasonable to buy yourself a £525 watch if you can afford it - what on earth did you hope to gain by asking if it was unreasonable? If you'd posted "I'm on the breadline, my children are in rags, I haven't paid the rent for 6 months, but am I being unreasonable to consider spending etc etc.." then perhaps the answer would have been "yes".

There's really no point getting het up about people being offended beacuse you are, in their opinion, flashing your cash around, just as there's no point in them getting het up in the first place.

Enjoy the watch! (and it's not an unreasonable amount for something of quality that will last - if indeed it is and it will, I have no idea!)

smeeinit · 30/10/2007 20:48

wordsmith pleeeeeease go and read the whole thread before posting "What on earth is the point of this thread? Of course you're not being unreasonable to buy yourself a £525 watch if you can afford it - what on earth did you hope to gain by asking if it was unreasonable" ........read the WHOLE thread!

OP, shall I buy this?
yes course
no, I wouldn't
I could feed my family for a year on that
just because you could doesn't mean she shouldn't buy xxxxx
it's obscene
no it's not, the royal family are obscene and non doms
legitimate tax evasion vs ordinary working folk

blah blah

Am I right?

smeeinit · 30/10/2007 21:20

If I was self employed I wouldn't (you refer to your business) as I think we have a year or two of recession left yet.

Ewe · 27/11/2009 23:09

Mudandmayhem this is from 2007!

nothingofthesort · 27/11/2009 23:17
