maybe someone puked on their regular clothes?

Scottishskifun · 15/01/2021 18:42

That it's someone working hard or has been working in hospital and been vomited on!

Spongebobsquarefringe · 15/01/2021 18:42

I quite like a man in scrubs. Would have looked at him, put my petrol in and carried on.

TurquoiseDress · 15/01/2021 18:45

That they'd just finished a shift as a healthcare worker & were filling up on petrol before running out?

Bubbinsmakesthree · 15/01/2021 18:49

Sorry you met an idiot today OP.

If I saw someone wearing scrubs I’d assume they had a job in health or care and probably try to give them a smile that conveys ‘thanks for doing a tough job’.

LaceyBetty · 15/01/2021 18:51

Wouldn't think anything of it.

Babybaby432 · 15/01/2021 18:53

Wouldn’t even look twice or think anything of it.

Kazzyhoward · 15/01/2021 18:55

The only thing I'd do is stay away from them.

vodkaredbullgirl · 15/01/2021 18:58

I best get into my scrubs to go to work.

sofiaaaaaa · 15/01/2021 19:01

I see NHS staff out and about in scrubs all the time. I work near a hospital which is served by a train station, so not an uncommon sight.

sofiaaaaaa · 15/01/2021 19:01

I also wouldn’t think anything of it

Doublefaced · 15/01/2021 19:07

@hulahooper2

I hate to see this , very unhygienic
Shall I start changing between patients in the boot of my car?

The OP is a community nurse, working in the community and needed petrol so you know, her car works to keep the appointments she has with people in the community. What do you suggest she wears, a fucking clown costume? Get a grip.

I work in a shop and we have a man who comes in wearing scrubs, he's a dentist and damn does he look good.

wonkylegs · 15/01/2021 19:24

I'd think they must be cold
DH wears a shirt and trousers to the hospital and only wears scrubs when doing procedures however has come home in a clean set when his clothes have been puked/bled on/wee'd on or the time he dropped coffee all over himself

Luckyelephant1 · 15/01/2021 19:25

I'd either think nothing of it or give them a smile of appreciation for working in a risky environment during this pandemic while the rest of us are safe at home.

@MadameButterface

It takes a special sort of person to be cunty to/about an nhs worker atm
This.
HibernatingTill2030 · 15/01/2021 19:51

I'd think they were cold.
Honestly, you can buy scrubs on the internet, I wouldn't automatically think they were HCPs covered in covid germs or something.

1Morewineplease · 15/01/2021 19:52

I was under the impression that scrubs stayed at hospital to be brutally burned in the hottest sterile wash possible.
To be wearing them in public smacks of unsanitary practices or showing off
Have NHS friends... none wear scrubs outside of a hospital.

Nothingoriginalhere · 15/01/2021 19:55

I wear scrubs for work, Im a HCA in a gp surgery and see approx 35-40 patients per shift.
we have to wear scrubs, we have to launder them ourselves and we have 2 pairs however qe ha e no changing facilities at work other than the toilet we share with patients!
occasionally i
I need petrol on either my way to or from work ( 30 min drive) or to pick up.lunch enroute to work
or at the minute either lunch or petrol enroute to work at a vaccine clinic a 40 minute drive from home and a 12hr shift
virtually no changing rooms exist outside of hospital work or laundry facilities and even in hospital in normal times.staff launder their own uniform and have done for 30 years in most areas

Nothingoriginalhere · 15/01/2021 19:55
  • we have no changing facilities
ScrapThatThen · 15/01/2021 20:05

Mental health staff going in to A & E have been issued with scrubs during covid , purely because we have to change before leaving
but sometimes wear them there. Always 2m away from patients (not doing surgery thank goodness).
