@DuncinToffee

That reminds me, the poster with the qanon partner, I really hope she is ok. I am sorry that I can't remember her username.
I know the one you mean. She posted a new thread over the weekend saying she had left him and was asking for advice about allowing him access to their young child. It sounded like he was 8. The depths of a very serious mental health crisis Sad
pointythings · 18/01/2021 13:49

Right, that's it. From now on I'm saying 'po-tah-toes'. Just so that nobody can spread misinformation by saying no-ons says it that way.

Spuds to you all.

DuncinToffee · 18/01/2021 13:49

Thanks CaveMum, such a sad situation and how frightening for her

NotaRealLawyer · 18/01/2021 13:54

That's really sad to hear CaveMum. Courage to her while travelling a stony road there.

That is NOT real, is it? That's got to be some 'The Onion' parody or something.

That's as nutz as Walt Disney's cryogenically frozen body under the Partners statue at Disneyland!

lionheart · 18/01/2021 14:52

How many times have we said exactly that on these threads? Smile

DGRossetti · 18/01/2021 14:52

That is NOT real, is it? That's got to be some 'The Onion' parody or something.

It's floating around on Twitter, that's all.

Returning to whether conspiraloons eat in their own houses, one technique for "engaging" is to just add a tiny little detail to their lunacy until you trip the "you're taking the piss" or "that can't be true" nerve.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 18/01/2021 14:53

Oh, that's rather more neat of Rudy than I would have thought him capable of working out.

DGRossetti · 18/01/2021 14:54
www.rawstory.com/rudy-giuliani-impeachment-trial/
How kind of Rudy to do the judges work for them. Maybe he could also decide the verdict too ? Save them having to travel.

DuncinToffee · 18/01/2021 15:00

A twitter thread with video footage on the symbols used by the rioters

NotaRealLawyer · 18/01/2021 15:16

Clever move by Giuliani there.

TooTrueToBeGood · 18/01/2021 15:21

You would think that, being a lawyer, Giuliani would know the difference between a witness and a co-conspirator.

DGRossetti · 18/01/2021 15:28

@NotaRealLawyer

Clever move by Giuliani there.
Not really. Generally witnesses don't get to recuse themselves from cases - that's the judges job.

And it's moot if Trump does pardon him and he loses the 5th. Which is an issue a pardoned Trump - by whoevers hand - will also face.

Shrillharridan · 18/01/2021 15:29

"Clever" and "guilliani" are words which do not belong in the same sentence...

Here's a Rudy namesake from Sicilian folklore, just to liven things up, based on some comments yesterday Grin

Salvatore Giuliani who is a bit of a "lege" in those parts. And whose death scene was staged to support an official narrative.

There may yet be a Netflix opening for a drama ...

Biden our time until Inauguration Day! (Trump #121) 🙂🕊
AcrossthePond55 · 18/01/2021 15:38

Not sure if this had previously been posted. It shows just how much 'incitement to riot' there was and just who was doing it.

RedToothBrush · 18/01/2021 15:39

@NotaRealLawyer

Clever move by Giuliani there.
So Guiliani has been told he won't get paid for the election 'fraud' work he did.

Guiliani is also a complete liability in terms of his role in the 6th Jan insurrection and thus poses an actual risk to Trump if he is Trump's lawyer.

He also is facing having his legal right to practice removed.

And he has little to no expertise in constitutional law. And if anyone has agreed to be Trump's lawyer the very first thing they will say is 'get that prick off your team or I won't represent you'.

But rather than admit to any one of these possible factors he's going to play dumb and make up excuses why he can't represent Trump?

Thats not clever. That's compromised and stiffed. And cos he's fucking shit.

BBC Breaking New reporting The Capitol has been locked down due to "an external security threat"

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55709740

RedToothBrush · 18/01/2021 15:47

Darren McCaffrey @DarrenEuronews
BREAK: Smoke seen rising near Capitol building in Washington DC

Emergency announcement: "All buildings within the Capitol Complex: External security threat, no entry or exit is permitted, stay away from exterior windows, doors. If outside, seek cover."

BREAK: Participants in inauguration rehearsal on West Front of Capitol evacuated by security officials (AP)

UPDATE: Officials say evacuation at inaugural rehearsal was due to a fire several blocks away and not believed to be a threat (AP)

All over. Apparently.

RedToothBrush · 18/01/2021 15:48

Manu Raju @mkraju
Things seem to be OK at the Capitol. DC Fire's Vito Maggiolo says the incident involved a small fire involving tent that is now out. DC fire was dispatched at 10:14 and the fire was put out. He said the response was "very minimal" and it was "pretty much a non-incident."

CaveMum · 18/01/2021 15:50

Sounds like everyone is on heightened alert. Of course in some ways they should be, but these kind of high pressure situations often have a tendency to boil over with unfortunate, and sometimes tragic, consequences.
