Hope the sponsors take note. But I fear that it will only take a few days of lying sniping about Biden's new administration before the viewers come crawling back. Sad

Fox News Viewership Plummets: First Time Behind CNN And MSNBC In Two Decades.

www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2021/01/16/fox-news-viewership-plummets-first-time-behind-cnn-and-msnbc-in-two-decades/

Fox News Channel, owned by Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Corp, has dominated the rating books since the start of the 21st-century, but over the first two weeks of 2021, it has averaged fewer viewers throughout the day than both CNN and MSNBC, and the numbers have been especially stark since the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and the subsequent impeachment of President Trump.

That's disgusting about the Western Apache lands. Can Biden and Harris reverse this?

Grrrpredictivetex · 17/01/2021 10:01

'As one of its last acts, the Trump administration has set in motion the transfer of sacred Native American lands to a pair of Anglo-Australian mining conglomerates.*

So much for only American industries. Obviously only when it suits or can make him a few 💵 Kerching

JamieLeesCurtains · 17/01/2021 10:02

Trump is a hideous creature, like the four horsemen of the apocalypse and the grim reaper rolled into one massive orange shroud of death, disease, pestilence, rage, war, hunger, emnity, licentiousness and vanity.

Not that I've got a strong opinion or anything.

cyclingmad · 17/01/2021 10:04

@borntobequiet

Will Biden now take down that wall

Rather puzzling that anyone thought there actually was “a wall”. Maybe another confusion with Game of Thrones.

Well exactly that, since people were so up in arms about it whe n Trump annouced it right..what wall when its just a replacement. Back then so much hand wringing over it
prettybird · 17/01/2021 10:11

My ds is studying Politics and International Relations at Uni (in his 3rd/Junior Honours year) and last semester was studying a module in American Politics in which he is fanatically interested

What a time to be studying it Grin

@Roussette

Great news...

Carbis Bay is lovely, couldn't pick a nicer place Grin

I'm quite jealous. That really is a lovely area. I'm glad that they're doing something to help local businesses round there.
Arobase · 17/01/2021 10:17

I made my comments showing Biden is no better thats all, but time again its just oh well its too long ago and we are talking about today, really I don't see a date stamp on what time period we can only talk about

Why are you fixating on this, @cyclingmad, and not answering queries about how on earth anything Biden has done equates to the horrors Trump has perpetrated?

NotaRealLawyer · 17/01/2021 10:21

I must say I learned so much from Bunbury.
And not just the lemon drizzle recipes Grin
Women are brilliant.

I do like being nudged out of my comfort zone, and my rusty brain made to work. Different views are important to me. I switch off when it's rant without content, however.

Biden would not have been my choice, but good that he seem able to listen to others, and change his perspective. Especially on the death penalty. I wish the American people better days to come. I've family there. (A tale for another day)

Lurkers should be paid by the hour. I'd be in a very high tax bracket.

Thanks TheNorthWestPassage for the links to Alan Jacobs. I'll be introducing him to my local Conservative Party Chairman who keeps sending out ill informed letters about BLM and "Trump is still the President and should be respected." ( Nothing about local issues natch.)

Essentially don't tag them, scroll back and find a post from someone else with which the engage and move the conversation forwards.

Ds (the aforementioned student of American politics) really didn't want Biden as the Democrat candidate. He was/is a real Saunders fan (and was 4 years ago too - he never liked Clinton). But once Biden got the nomination - and especially after Bernie endorsed him - he supported him as the best chance to get Trump out.

[quote TheNorthWestPawsage]Twitter is saying that it was (QAnon-loving) Rep Lauren Boebert's mother who was the person with the megaphone directing a group of rioters who vandalised and entered the capitol building.

I can see Trumps despair at lower class protesters.

Show should have bought her nanny instead.

BBC Radio 2 news reporting on his first day in office Biden’s actions will include:
Resigning Paris Climate Agreement
Revoke Trump’s “Muslim” Travel Ban
Mandate mask wearing on all federal property and interstate travel
Extend the pause on repayment of and interest on student loans;
Continue restrictions on evictions and foreclosures

Why do you insist on calling me names? Is it difficult for you to actually use my username? Or do you think name calling like a bully is the right thing to do?
DGRossetti · 17/01/2021 10:34
You know those hackers that claim to have got a copy of all the data ?

I hope they know where to paste the UK stuff ...

Lweji · 17/01/2021 10:35

Well exactly that, since people were so up in arms about it whe n Trump annouced it right..what wall when its just a replacement. Back then so much hand wringing over it

Trump didn't announce it or sell it as a replacement.
Not sure where you're going. Nobody is complaining about the non-wall that Trump didn't build in the end. Unless you're a Trumpist who got disappointed over that.
We're all complaining about how he tried to overcome a fair election now. How he courts and gives support to far-right groups and militias.
How he managed to get very poor choices in the Supreme Court.
How he has led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of american people due to covid-19.
How he peddles fake information.
How he has been using his position for profit.

We really don't care about a wall that we knew it was never going to be built.
We care about separation of families at the border. About children missing. About children cold, hungry and in cages.
We care about people who lived their lives in the US and have to return to countries they don't know at all.
We care about classified information ending up in the wrong hands.

We care about climate change and how Trump has set the fight against it several years.

Even taxes. Trump hasn't decreased taxes for the average American. Just the rich.

He forced farmers to rely on government subsidies by waging a commercial war with China.

He destroyed regulations that were designed to prevent a new financial crisis, such as in 2008.

He fostered hate and anger, created a bigger trench between his supporters and everyone else. He encouraged corruption.

I could go on.
As poor a choice as Biden is for the Democrats, I'd have even supported many other Republicans who can respect electoral results.

The point is that pretty much anyone else is better than Trump. Let alone Biden.

JamieLeesCurtains · 17/01/2021 10:37

Biden said he was only Democrat who could beat Trump. Looks like he was right about that.

JamieLeesCurtains · 17/01/2021 10:39

I was thinking exactly that, @DGRossetti.

Er, the US governments track record of honouring existing treaties with Native American tribes is not very good. There's still land in Dakota that SCOTUS has ruled should be returned and the US government hasn't.

and

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Sioux_Nation_of_Indians

I would have though a squirrel would have known that ? It seems that the more you know (and it's trivial to find out) the less you hide your nuts.

Lweji · 17/01/2021 10:42

No word on the pardons yet, they will be coming thick and fast in the next few days.

From work shy Trump? Maybe.

CaveMum · 17/01/2021 10:42

@Cacacoisfarraige

Last stretch beckons. Then off to Florida for the Trumps while they await the results of various legal cases in the offing.

Biden will have a challenge to try to push his first 100 days while handling a pandemic (mismanaged under his predecessor) and an impeachment trial. Hopefully the GOP doesn’t hold up his picks.

It’s interesting the amount of disruptive trump loyalists they’re trying to install in permanent roles they’re not suitable for in NSA, etc

No word on the pardons yet, they will be coming thick and fast in the next few days.

I thought Trump couldn’t go to Florida for long? I’m sure I read something about Maralago only getting planning permission on the condition that it wasn’t his permanent residence?

Might have imagined that though!

JamieLeesCurtains · 17/01/2021 10:43

I hope Biden can get rid of unsuitable people in important roles on the grounds that it's not good for the people involved, and it's certainly not good for America. Enough already of this madness.
