To think a "breathing" sex robot should be illegal

CrotchBurn · 14/01/2021 18:30

Apparently there is an AI sex robot that now has the feature of breathing (there's a video in the article in the link).

I don't really care how these ultra realistic sex dolls might help people for various reasons. I think in a world where men overwhelming treat women as unfeeling objects (yeah okay NAMALT), further blurring the lines between womens bodies and inanimate objects you can do what you want to is dangerous.

I think they should be illegal.

dared to challenge a man*

Thought it should be obvious what I meant, but you never know these days....!

CrotchBurn · 14/01/2021 21:15

@Lucieintheskye
I'm not a pearl clutcher if that's what you mean by "karen", but nor am I a woke little unicorn so desperate to be on trend I believe "stranglers" are potentially non sinister.

You have a lot of growing up to do.

OMG WFT! Can I unsee that?! Really!!?

My curiosity got the better of me but seriously - really????

I guess there is supply because there is sadly a market too?! Each to their own!

Speechless as I now I have seen everything! I am open minded but this takes it to another level altogether!

TheBuffster · 14/01/2021 21:16

I actually think Mumsnet should ban the term Karen. It's nasty as.

Callcat · 14/01/2021 21:19

I don't see them as an 'instead of' when it comes to abuse (ie the very young looking dolls, dolls of children etc). They're a stepping stone.

EarthSight · 14/01/2021 21:22

@cherrypie111

I imagine that most people (mainly women) who buy reborn dolls don't plan on having sex with them, violating them, or subjecting them to things they wouldn't do to a normal child. In that regard it's a ridiculous comparison to make.

Seconded.
TooManyKidsSendHelp · 14/01/2021 21:28

I'm not bothered about this. I agree that it's extremely creepy but I don't think creepy things have to be made illegal.

Call me in 20 years when the dolls have become sentient and want to unionise and revolt. THEN I will care about this. I'd happily fight in their corner.

TooManyKidsSendHelp · 14/01/2021 21:29

Oh for God's sake, can we stop with the Karen thing?

Grow the fuck up

Italiangreyhound · 14/01/2021 21:31

It's pretty sick to feed this kind of perversion, who thinks these men will be happy with a doll that simply stops breathing and then re-sets. I think it could encourage some men's vile behavior.

I certainly don't think we need male versions of these dolls. And to be honest i cannot imagine women buying them, and if they did I am pretty sure they would not try and violently assault them.

Watch Humans and just see how things might end up!!

ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia · 14/01/2021 21:37

Not wishing to side line the original topic of this post but on names ie an actual person’s name - as much as it is misappropriated and abused - it is still someone’s name. I know Karen, Donald, Boris etc etc and they are opposite of those that are well known with the same name!

What if the next random media choice slang derogatory name(s) was yours etc etc?

And by the way my name is not K!.

Just some thoughts as feel sorry for the Ks out there as this is nothing to do with their given name.

Luckyrabbitfoot · 14/01/2021 21:40

It’s all very The Heart Goes Last isn’t it?

(For anyone who hasn’t heard of it, it’s a Margaret Atwood book. It’s fantastic)

TopBants · 14/01/2021 21:44

No but they are predicting that by 2050 sex dolls will be able to feel love and pain and be "sentient" whatever that means

Wow. When the cylons rise up and kill us all, I can't say I'll blame them.

Hawkins001 · 14/01/2021 21:50

I could be wrong and id prefer to be educated if I am wrong in my question, but couldn't the main issue be the psychology of the human mind rather the robot that could be argued that is one of the important issues ?

PlanDeRaccordement · 14/01/2021 21:51

Doesn’t bother me. Men and women are fundamentally different in how we orgasm. These are just sex toys. Honestly, back in the day, men had to wank into a sock, now they can use a mannequin with a built in sock that makes electronic noises, is heated and applies pressure. Also back in the day, women had to use their hands or ride a horse to get off, but now we have dozens of fake phalluses that whir and vibrate and so on.
I don’t see a difference?

PoleToPole · 14/01/2021 21:56

I`ve just had to read this thread twice as I cannot believe some of the comments.

DH has a doll. I thought it was a bit weird at first. But anyone who has spent 5 minutes on the online doll community forums would learn the men who shell out that much for the realistic ones treat them like princesses.
That is not an improvement on the situation, it makes it worse.

A lot of people could learn something from the doll community.
I am also interested to learn what? Interested is perhaps the wrong word though.

But not all stranglers are sinister! Hmm
Jesus. Where do you even start?

The concept of a doll which can make the strangulation of women and girls more realistic is revolting. That its aimed at enhancing mens` sexual pleasure is a thousand times worse.
It amazes me how can anyone read this and not have a problem with it, especially how the dolls were treated when they were showcased at fairs. Absolutely disgusting.

There is so much more I would like to say on this, but that would be kink-shaming, which isn`t allowed and would make me a super mega meany, even though I would dearly love to shame "kinks" which harm women and girls until the very ends of time Hmm.

CrotchBurn · 14/01/2021 21:57

@PlanDeRaccordement
Because dildos don't look like men, they look like cocks. and women don't mutilate and kill men

OP posts:
PlanDeRaccordement · 14/01/2021 21:59

Why the issue with the doll having an off switch? No one is going to buy a sex doll that mimics breathing and such if it has to be on all the time.

CaraDuneRedux · 14/01/2021 22:00

There are some links that deserve to have the shit shamed out of them.

[quote CrotchBurn]@PlanDeRaccordement

So what if dildos don’t look like men, they look like their cocks
And some women do kill and mutilate men, in some cases cutting off their cocks.

Sex dolls are obviously not real women, like dildos are obviously not real cocks. They’re used for the same purpose, to assist masturbation. No living creature is being harmed by it.

Pepperxo · 14/01/2021 22:03

Well when they become sentient I can't wait for them to kill their creepy owners.

Snowvid19 · 14/01/2021 22:05

I do wonder if sex dolls have a place though. I watched something recently about people with physical and intellectual disabilities who crave sex but find it difficult to have their needs met for example.

TheBuffster · 14/01/2021 22:06

Yeah because the statistics of cock cutting women is way higher than abusive men.

Ow. Wait.
