Civil servant. For many years I have asked to WFH but only managers were given that option. They made lots of excuses why it wasn't possible. After 8 weeks of lockdown I took delivery of a laptop.
Funny that, only a very few had been formally able to WFH in our Dept, and only those either in very senior management (Principal Officer or higher) or who travelled a LOT had laptops or similar. (Meanwhile, Assistant Secretaries all had a full additional workspace set up at home - pc, multiple screens if needed, good printer, and broadband covered too....).
I was lucky, I travel. So I had been able (and partly thanks to understanding managers and also the kind of work I do needing occasional "close the doors and let me research/draft things" days in peace) to do some WFH occasionally using my "laptop" (actually, a Direct Access Device, which is a decent tablet with a detatchable keyboard).
Whereas now, 10 months after we were all sent home, it's mostly the very senior management who are in the office all day, and everyone in the Dept has a DAD or laptop or some other functionality from ICT to be able to WFH FT. (Although everyone is using their own home broadband, so there is 1 more junior lady who apparently cannot get broadband in her apartment
for some kind of technical blackspot reasons who comes into the office everyday also - not support staff for the seniors, she's in an ordinary policy section).
