I'm fascinated by this thread and also the one that is active now asking what jobs people wouldn't want their children to do.
Can I ask what people studied in order to get the jobs listed here? They all seem so high flying and a lot of the roles I've never heard of!
If I had my time again I'd definitely try to be more grades focused but que Cera, cera.

Metalhead · 12/01/2021 08:17

I have a BA in Cultural studies and an MA in European studies - neither of which are directly related to any of the jobs I’ve had in my life! It was more about transferable skills like research, report writing, time management etc. The one thing that helped me in the beginning was probably speaking a foreign language.

Scottishskifun · 12/01/2021 08:19

@justsayso I studied biology/environmental impact for undergrad and masters. There is a big focus on experience for my job but minimum of a science degree required (I'm one of the few without a PhD in my team)

Professional Clerk to School Governors. A decent income if you are self-employed and work in say 7/8 schools who understand the need to pay a decent rate to get good support.
