Of course! I've been off sick, so I've been wearing them all day :-)

PattyPan · 11/01/2021 23:33

It’s 11:30 and I’m still not in my pyjamas!

JogOnTony · 11/01/2021 23:36

@Oysterbabe

I only put mine on just before I actually get into bed. In jeans and a hoodie right now.
Oh my goodness, how do you chill in jeans?! Grin I can't get comfy of an evening unless I'm in pjs or at least joggers.
CorianderBee · 11/01/2021 23:39

Same. Just getting ready for bed now Smile

I do not see the attraction of wearing pyjamas at all. Just why?

Because they are a billion times more comfy then any of the actual clothes I own

I just do not understand this. What are you wearing that is so uncomfortable? Even my work clothes are comfortable ... admittedly I don't have to wear tailored office type wear. But my work clothes are both smart and I can lounge around in them.

PodgeBod · 12/01/2021 00:25

I only put on real clothes to leave the house and when I get home, the first thing I do is put them back on.

I usually wear jeans. Occasionally a dress. When I worked it was in care so smart trousers and one of those hideous care worker tops - most uncomfortable thing ever! The only clothes that would be as comfy as pyjamas would be leggings/joggers. But why create more washing Grin
I am really fat though. I didn't find clothes as uncomfortable when I was slim. PJs have always been more comfy though.

PodgeBod · 12/01/2021 00:37

To be fair I have a fairly messy baby who always seems to be bringing up a bit of milk on me or grabbing at my top with food mush in his hand so I just don't see the point of wearing proper clothes.

I find that anything remotely stylish has an element I find uncomfortable - too high neck, not soft enough, tight waistband, not warm enough, itchy seam, sleeves too long, thickly lace, rough weave.

I do have eczema which makes this worse but joggers or PJs are 99% more comfy.

@Bluewavescrashing
Hell yes. I'm in bed too. Will be asleep soon. Today can do one. Teaching in pandemic is beyond shite
I agree ☹️

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 12/01/2021 07:25

I'm also comfortable in jeans, surely the people who find jeans uncomfortable are wearing too small jeans!

inquietant · 12/01/2021 07:33

These threads always end up with 'I find jeans/trousers comfortable so you must be wearing them incorrectly'.

People are just different

BiddyPop · 12/01/2021 07:36

No, I only change into them when going to bed about 10. It's generally the same for all in this house unless someone has a shower after 8pm, so they put on pjs then.

lollipoprainbow · 12/01/2021 07:43

I've never understood people who get into their Pj's the minute they get home but it seems to be a thing! Each to their own but I only put them on when it's bedtime.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 12/01/2021 07:43

inquietant of course you're right - people are different and obviously if people want to wear pyjamas in their living rooms it makes no difference to anyone outside their house! Its the regular MN threads implying everyone would prefer to wear pyjamas, and those not wearing pyjamas at every opportunity are choosing to be uncomfortable, which are really, really strange to those of us who wear jeans because they're comfortable and practical.

Psychologically I'd be uncomfortable in pyjamas at a time adults are usually awake in case of needing to deal with any kind of emergency, andswer the door, wanting to go and get something from my car etc etc.

Also pyjamas aren't as warm/ weather appropriate as the clothes I put on in the mornings... I wear uniqlo heattech thermals under jeans, walking socks and a warm jumper at this time of year and would be cold in pyjamas.

I like to take my bra off and have a comfier waistband. Or like yesterday I had tights and a dress on. I can't relax in those clothes.

It's hard to find jeans which don't fall down/sag on my waist if they're not tight on my thighs and hips. I'm an 8-10 and tend to wear a 10 but jeans are not mass produced for those built with curvy bums and a small waist.
CorianderBee · 12/01/2021 07:58

I also don't sleep in PJs, I sleep naked so they're basically loungewear in my brain

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 12/01/2021 08:10

CorianderBee lucky you, that's such a healthy natural shape/ waist to hip ratio. That jeans aren't right for you makes sense, but then presumably you don't feel comfortable/ good/ your best in jeans and rarely wear them, so you're wearing other daytime clothes which you are happy in all day...

Abraxan · 12/01/2021 08:21

Yes 1 was.
I often have different ones to wear during the evening to the ones I sleep in.
When at work I often swap into PJs when I get home. They're more comfortable,

MiddlesexGirl · 12/01/2021 08:22

In my days as a PTA treasurer I went to discuss PTA issues with the chair and her husband at their house. I was shocked to find them in their pj's and felt very uncomfortable.

Jeremyironseverything · 12/01/2021 08:31

It seems so slobby. One of my teens hates that I nag her to get dressed. Having said that, I have started taking my bra off regularly which I would never have dreamed of doing a few years ago and I do now wear more lounge wear - but they aren't pyjamas.

Its definitely slobby! I spend the day not slobby for work. Its a joy to embrace my inner slob in the evening.
