Is anyone else mind numbingly bored?

I’ve lost a family member to covid, we’ve been on the bloody breadline for months and working monotonous jobs for just as long.

But more than anything I’m just so bloody bored.

I come home from work, eat dinner, sometimes have a soak in the bath, maybe do some chores then go to bed early as there’s nothing else to do.

Anyone else feel the same way? I feel like I’m about to go insane at any moment.

I’m having a lovely time...today I opened a shop, went fossil hunting, went to a friends home on a plane (day trip), took over a gift to mate and did a diy class with my friend Tom.

All on the Nintendo switch “animal crossing”. That’s right, a computer game is wayyy more exciting than my real life right now.

Sorry for your loss Flowers

But no, I don’t get bored - ever. There is always so much to do! An endless amount of books to read, languages to learn, music to learn, new recipes to fry. I play an instrument and bought some jigsaw puzzles and adult colouring books to do as well. I also do crosswords and sudoku online. Plenty of home improvements, cleaning and gardening to do at my place too plus allotment.
I wish there were more hours in the day! We don’t have a tv and I don’t know how people find the time to watch it!

If you are really bored the charities are desperate for help. Out local nourish ..food bank are asking for helpers . Click on local Facebook self isolating groups...lots of help needed there .

I'm busy with a 2 year old but I am also really bored. I want to go somewhere different, book a holiday, see some friends, go out to eat, see a performance, go swimming, go out for a drink, bloody ANYTHING other than the same 3 playgrounds on rotation and the odd trip to sainsbury's 😭 Also my husband works from home and doesn't drive so he is ALWAYS IN and I would love a day in the house on my own for a bit of variety too!

No not bored. I like nothingness. But then again I'm a bit antisocial and have quite liked lockdown.

I know people are saying they are busy but you can still be busy and bored. It’s busy with the same things every day and nothing to look forward to. A busy Groundhog Day.

@Dontsayyouloveme

Quite the opposite! I don’t have time to go to the toilet hardly!
Hmm

Volunteer and put your energy to good use.
Become an NHS volunteer, a driver for the foodbank - many charities need help.

I am busy and bored doing things I don't enjoy, with very little joy and excitement, it makes me feel constantly tired. Like I am sleep walking with people shouting for my attention all day.

Sorry to hear about your family member OP.

I've been working from home on and off since April (briefly went back to the office for about a month in August/September) and I've been doing fine for the most part, but since Christmas I've been feeling really unmotivated and bored. The school closures haven't helped as I can't now go for a run or do a yoga session in the middle of the day to break things up a bit. It just seems like this year is going to be a write off like last year.

I've just signed up to do an online course, so I'm hoping I can stretch my mind that way, as although I like my job I've been doing it for a long time now and it's not really mentally challenging which I think is part of the problem.

DH and I joke most mornings about Groundhog day. We are both retired but this lockdown I am determined to at least have a good clear out shouldn't need to if we hadn't brought so much crap when we moved house only a few years ago and give house a good spring clean so if we get good weather in spring we can go out and enjoy it. We live at the coast and lots of places to walk in local area. I also want to cook more from scratch. The problem at the moment is motivation but the evenings getter brighter will help hopefully. Last week we had heavy frosts and going out walking was a bit precarious and breaking a bone would not be helpful to our already overstretched NHS. Now we have got rain. writing this while currently sitting in my pyjamas 😀
