Scrolling through dog adverts and I came across this

www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/2942042-visual-fluffys-french-bulldog-kc-puppies-bedlington.html#

Is this a joke or a typo? The description says it’s a very very rare kind of dog, but seriously?

YANBU - ridiculous price for a dog ?

YABU- This dog is worth it?

@Plussizejumpsuit

She's had 3 set of babies? Is that what triple carrier means? I'm not a do owner so don't know. Poor babe that's awful. Is her life just going to be pregnancy?
Assuming it's genetics-- three colours so three genes hence triple carrier.

No it's a colour variation. I think it means she is likely to produce pups with a range of colours.

I can't believe frenchies are so popular. So many have terrible health problems.

tttigress · 10/01/2021 20:13

@Plussizejumpsuit

I'd like to get a kitten after my cat died. My existing cat would likely only accept a kitten rather than an adult. So just did a quick search. There are just regular moggies on there for 200 to 600 pounds! Wtf?! I don't think breeding is ethical so I'd only ever buy a moggie anyway and all cats are lovely. My point is this is extortionate!

Really makes me worry if people are just doing this for loads of cash. And therfore what's the welfare like?

I think it's safe to say they are doing it for the money!
DenisetheMenace · 10/01/2021 20:14

French bulldogs aren’t very, very rare. Tripping over them in our area 🤷‍♀️

People do pay those sort of prices for champion stud dogs though.

BroomHandledMouser · 10/01/2021 20:14

I’ve reported it. Absolutely disgusting

Grenlei · 10/01/2021 20:18

It's obscene. The whole thing - dogs being repeatedly interbred so they end up with all manner of health problems, the breeding dogs themselves being used to churn out litter after litter just to make more and more money for breeders. I read a social media post recently from a lady who rehomed a stud dog who'd been kept in a tiny kennel for years, never been taken for a walk or even petted. It's disgraceful.

Babyroobs · 10/01/2021 20:21

Poor dog - a life kept pregnant.

Canneverthinkofagoodusername · 10/01/2021 20:32

The deposit is £3500 so yeah it’s probably right. Shameful and Insane.

ShutTheFuckUp123 · 10/01/2021 20:33

Thankfully the advert is now closed.

Parkermumma07 · 10/01/2021 20:45

Bargain I’ll have 2 !

Branleuse · 10/01/2021 20:46

Clearly theyve put an extra zero

blueangel19 · 10/01/2021 20:48

Either a typo or a mega scam.

If you are looking there was another threat of puppies returned to the dog trust and to be placed with new owners.

thosetalesofunexpected · 10/01/2021 20:49

If it encourages only people who are serious considered responsible pet ownership that's got to be the better way surely.!!😕

HarryElephante · 10/01/2021 20:51

Who are we to judge what value people put on things?

Plussizejumpsuit · 10/01/2021 21:04

Oh right I get it on the variation thing. But honestly even if she's only had that one set of puppies puctured. If you are paying that for a dog to breed then she is going to spend her life pregnant. Or a good portion of it.

Ffsffsffsffsffs · 10/01/2021 21:15

Bloody hell. When I was young we had a pedigree dog, runt of the litter, was practically given it by our friend as they thought it had no chance. She was absolutely bomb-proof, daft as a brush and yeah, she ended up having 2 pedigree litters. The pups were again bomb-proof, having been brought up in a family home, riding round on the hoover, completely used to people, kids, other dogs etc. We only let them go to homes we were happy with, and for pennies compared to what these dogs go for these days. Sometimes you do get good, responsible owners who'd like to have a litter or two, but it seems lockdown has highlighted how many folk spend silly money to get a new 'toy', and unfortunately how many folk treat animals like money making machines in the most horrific conditions.

Plenty of teenage dogs in rescues already after last March lockdown as the novelty has well and truly worn off

pantherrose · 10/01/2021 21:23

It’s the canine equivalent of human trafficking. Disgusting and I would like to see a stop to breeding ( other than licensing for exceptional circumstances eg service dogs etc) Dogs are not a fashion accessory nor can you guarantee temperament or long term health by paying for it. Rescue centres are the way to go if you are serious about caring for an animal and really do have the time , patience and commitment necessary.

teuer · 10/01/2021 21:24

Blimey, I’d want the whole of France for that amount.

Notworking123 · 10/01/2021 21:28

@QuestionableMouse I think your friend was duped!

user1471565182 · 10/01/2021 21:29

I think id actually ban dog breeding.

Bookriddle · 10/01/2021 21:30

Ridiculous price but not suprised!

My uncle breeds alsatians, all done properly through the kennel club, he wont breed his bitches more than 3 times, although you can do it 4 times! He does it all through blood lines, took him about 2 years to find the right male! He will make more money for his pups than you would for your average alsatians, he is a trusted breeder among the community!

But he makes way more money breeding birds, couldnt tell what sort of birds, but he told me if he gets a male and female from 2 different parents and they are a certian colour, he can sell them as a breeding pair for about £7000!

He has proper kennels and avierys setup as well, iver quite a bit of land! All dogs and birds are well looked after aswell!

PanamaPattie · 10/01/2021 21:31

I thought my colleague was nuts when he paid £3.5k for a springer puppy. The dog seems like a bargain now.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 10/01/2021 21:33

Disgusting. Dog breeders need to get a proper fucking job and stop making money from misery. I'd like to call/email the twat but it's greyed out.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 10/01/2021 21:36

Evil fuckers.

WunWun · 10/01/2021 21:38
