To think my friend is disgusting for reporting this woman?

ellt · 07/01/2021 23:23

A woman at my friends stable moved her two horses today to a new yard. According to my friend, You are not allowed to move horses to a new yard unless it's to do with the welfare of the horse.
My friend reported this woman to the police and then all proudly told me what she had done!
I wouldn't dream of reporting anyone, unless there's a massive party going on. I told my friend that it's a bit extreme to report someone for just moving her horses!

OP posts:
cittigirl · 09/01/2021 17:23

Maybe she moved them so she didn't have to see your friend. What a waste of police time!

Yogalola · 09/01/2021 17:23

What a waste of police time. No doubt the woman had a good reason for moving the horses. Maybe your friend should of asked what the problem was?

MollyMinniesMum · 09/01/2021 17:25

Ain’t no one so bitchy as horsey women I’m afraid. That’s awful

youcantchoosethem · 09/01/2021 18:32

@EmbarrassingAdmissions I am so shocked by the police behaviour in that video - that poor girl having just got out of hospital. That has just brought me to tears. The police handled that situation to on extremely badly. I certainly hope they do a full investigation.

1FootInTheRave · 09/01/2021 18:38

Sad twat.

FreshFreesias · 09/01/2021 18:40

Your friend sounds a real Stasi type. I never understood how otherwise sane Germans went along with the Holocaust but now I see how this happened.
It’s terrifying how our friends have turned informant in a heartbeat.

numberoneson · 09/01/2021 19:11

She'd now be an ex-friend of mine. Can't stand pettiness and that's what your friend is guilty of. If you've got horses at her yard I'd reckon maybe you should consider finding a new, friendlier yard yourself! Thank God I have mine at home and don't have to put up with all the bitchiness & backstabbing that seems to be rife at some yards!

CreakingatTheWhinges · 09/01/2021 19:54

I was going to say similar as @cittigirl....

It's not clear (to me) if your friend owns the yard or just has her horse stabled there....Either way if your "friend" behaves as nastily generally as she has demonstrated in reporting the other owner, perhaps this is why the woman moved her horses!!

Lovely13 · 09/01/2021 20:16

Livery yards can be vipers’ nests. The horses are lovely. But my god, some of those women. And it is always women. Not all of them. Reckon your friend escaping them would be considered a welfare issue.

DianaT1969 · 09/01/2021 20:43

Were the horses wearing masks?

Nanalisa60 · 09/01/2021 21:33

The stasi have really coming out of the woodwork in the last 10 months!!

nimbuscloud · 09/01/2021 21:39

I wish people would stop using the Stasi comparison. It’s wrong.
Read about what the Stasi did. Torture. Murder. Inflicting life long physiological damage on people.

conjourbonjour · 09/01/2021 22:07

Horsey people are so bitchy Grin

sandandso · 09/01/2021 22:12

@praepondero

Does anyone else read the threads with 'Disgusting' in the title as 'Tissshhhgusshhtink' and imagines frothing, furiously typing person consciously inserting random capital letters into their furious posts, whilst gently dribbling from the left (always left??) corner of their mouth.

Or am I weird?

I am weird.

I definitely find it a weird, overly-intense adjective to use about a person, if it's not in relation to their personal hygiene or some kind of unspeakably revolting crime they've committed.

OP, I know nothing about horses and the rights and wrongs thereof, but YABU for talking about your friend in such terms.

earnshaw47 · 09/01/2021 23:08

its strange really because, apart from your friend being reported , this lock down is so different to the first, then the roads were so quiet, now,, they still seem quite busy and there were plenty in marks and spencers rummaging through the sales so an assistant told me

Annieconn · 10/01/2021 00:29

Why report someone? Life is hard enough, especially now.

Ineedalargeone · 10/01/2021 08:29

Wow it does sound petty

Ineedalargeone · 10/01/2021 08:30

@Nanalisa60

The stasi have really coming out of the woodwork in the last 10 months!!
Who's been tortured or murdered then....
Bluntness100 · 10/01/2021 08:37

The police must be so sick of these arseholes. I would guess there are a lot of people like your friend

There is an unpleasant underbelly to our population that is spiteful and punitive, they are in the minority but there is enough of them. They watch what other people do and report, even when it’s complaint.

It’s honestly quite disturbing, these people walk amongst us. There’s a thread on here where someone has posted that if you break the rules the poster thinks you should be denied treatment and left to die.

I agree
pictish · 10/01/2021 08:52

So do I.

Springersrock · 10/01/2021 09:00

What people like this (the person who made the report) always seem to overlook is that the guidance is generally not law and the list of reasonable excuses is not exhaustive.

Yes, this ^

During the first lockdown my neighbour kept threatening to report me to the police as she felt I was leaving the house too often (twice a day to go and do u horses). Even when I explained where I was going about a million times she was still adamant it wasn’t a reasonable excuse.

These people seem to have no idea, or imagination, that others lives are very different to theirs. What’s essential to one person isn’t essential to another

Moving horses because you have concerns for their care is absolutely fine and if I had a friend like that, they’d be an ex friend.

userxx · 10/01/2021 09:27

Your friend is a first class twat.

Me too, I clicked on the link - shocking abuse of a person with a disability by police in the UK. Awfully distressing to watch.

Petlover9 · 10/01/2021 13:00

@Glitteryone. Have to agree with you , it is the only word to describe her apart from busybody which is too nice for her
