To think my friend is disgusting for reporting this woman?

A woman at my friends stable moved her two horses today to a new yard. According to my friend, You are not allowed to move horses to a new yard unless it's to do with the welfare of the horse.
My friend reported this woman to the police and then all proudly told me what she had done!
I wouldn't dream of reporting anyone, unless there's a massive party going on. I told my friend that it's a bit extreme to report someone for just moving her horses!

Is it your mates stable?
Either way the friend is a twat and police have more pressing crimes to investigate horse owner moves horses somewhere closer to home because she’s unhappy with the care.

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 08/01/2021 08:48

Who is even miserable enough to do this.

I imagine shes picturing herself the good samaritan, following the rules, while everyone else looks at her like a bored bitter woman.

StarlightLady · 08/01/2021 08:56

How can anybody prove beyond reasonable doubt that there were no welfare issues?

PegLegTrev · 08/01/2021 08:58

What an idiot.

Theunamedcat · 08/01/2021 08:59

@Imiss2019

I don’t think the police handled that well it shouldn’t have escalated that way but it’s an exaggeration to say they stormed the house. The mum was more than a bit mardy, she was swearing and shouting to the point her husband felt the need to hold her back.

She knew her kids were distressed she should have held herself together for their sakes but chose to scream, shout and swear and get up in the police’s face.

The policeman was a dick in his attitude to be sure but fault on both sides I would say

Her child had just returned from hospital after trying to kill herself she was agitated and stressed the police are supposed to know how to calm situations down all I could see is aggressive reactive behaviour from the police the man taking point really exacerbates the situation and refuses to back off and let someone else take control of the situation he clearly mismanaged it he needed to step back he refused too in a later video you hear colleagues pacifying him and the family at the same time since when is that appropriate? He was unprofessional she isnt trained in conflict management he is

Which is an animal welfare issue so is explicitly allowed under the guidance.
Imiss2019 · 08/01/2021 09:45

@Theunamedcat I already stated that the policeman handled it badly so not sure what point you’re trying to make 🤷‍♀️
If you mean the mum has no responsibility for her own behaviours then I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. Nobody gets training in “how not to create conflict when the police come to your house under stressful circumstances” but plenty of people manage if.

She was raging because some dick head maliciously reported her which is fair enough I’d like to think that person would be charged with wasting police time.

No im saying he poured fuel onto a fire that was already burning and should have known better in England they have a lot of conflict management training and they will back off if its not deemed worth it in the grand scheme of things someone entering a house during covid was not worth this level of stress and aggro they should have backed off spoke to the man outside as he was obviously trying to keep things calm she didn't want the police carrying covid into her house who can blame her they needed her to consent they failed spectacularly im not saying she was right to go mental im saying they were absolutely wrong in their handling of the situation the officer on point especially

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/01/2021 10:00

If one of my friends did something as pathetic as that they'd be an ex friend

littlemissdirectional · 08/01/2021 10:40

Unbelievably, Police Scotland have charged the home owners with assault on a police officer.

Godimabitch · 08/01/2021 10:42

Shes completely wasted police time. Although they probably wont even look into it. Cant imagine caring so much about what someone else is doing, she hasn't exactly had a rave in her living room has she.

Serin · 08/01/2021 10:54

BrightYellowDaffodils
Thanks for the info. If you are allowed to use a horse transporter to go off riding for the day, it seems crazy that you aren't allowed to change yards. Confused

Bangable · 08/01/2021 10:54

If I were you I would have one fewer friend today.

Honeyroar · 08/01/2021 11:12

You aren’t allowed to use a horse transporter to go off riding for the day! That’s completely different- not a welfare issue or at all necessary.

JustDanceAddict · 08/01/2021 11:19

The world has gone crazy!! Who cares if she moved her horse. Looks like sour grapes to me.
I have pretty much been following the rules too

praepondero · 08/01/2021 11:40

Does anyone else read the threads with 'Disgusting' in the title as 'Tissshhhgusshhtink' and imagines frothing, furiously typing person consciously inserting random capital letters into their furious posts, whilst gently dribbling from the left (always left??) corner of their mouth.

Or am I weird?

I am weird.

AvoidingNextdoorNeighbour · 08/01/2021 12:24

@nimbuscloud

Why did she need to move the horses?
Why would that matter?
AvoidingNextdoorNeighbour · 08/01/2021 12:39

Who would have thought it? Bitchiness on a livery yard. I for one am shocked.

Oh. Wait. Nope. Sounds pretty usual, sadly. OP, I think your friend is just pissed she's lost livery income during a time she may struggle to find a replacement.

Animal welfare is not just concerning abuse or neglect to an animal. Welfare covers a whole range of things from the owner providing different stabling, better environment such as preferable grazing, or even having easier, more convenient access for the horse owner to attend. Welfare is enabling easier and better care for an animal. Even if that means not having to attend a bitchy environment stableyard.

You need to be careful of the ‘they were both as each other’ kind set.

That women hadn’t broken the law. And yes police do receive deescalation training. He turned up for a fight. He escalated it because she wasn’t showing him respect or cowering. Which still isn’t breaking the law.

When the new covid laws came in people were gagging for them - even though many posters said they will be used against you in a way that wasn’t intended. And also a lot of people always think this won’t happen to you - but it very may do so.

I’d like to know what the first initial conversation was. When you open the door to the police your first reaction is genuine shock and worry, by the time this video started this lady was already angry. What got her to that point? If you’ve just picked your poorly dd up from the hospital - no way are you looking to take on police at your front door. I’d bet money on it that cunt of a police officer went in guns blazing.

Seasaltyhair · 08/01/2021 12:49

And just look at the Mirror reporting it. They don’t mention anything about just bringing their ill daughter back or that she actually had another epileptic fit after they dragged her to the floor. They were arrested for assault. Not even arrested for having people in the house. Disgusting.

Cam2020 · 08/01/2021 12:54

Bloody hell, nice friend you've got there!

LastTrainEast · 08/01/2021 12:57

The woman had a reason to move the horses. The whole point of the rules is to stop unnecessary contact so reporting was wrong in this case.

There are all kinds of things that just have to be done. What we want to stop is the idiots travelling across country just because they think they found a loophole.

VenusTiger · 08/01/2021 13:17

She moved HER horses closer to where SHE lives - yep, your "friend" is a nasty cow! And the 'horse-mover' knows this too.

krustykittens · 08/01/2021 13:44

Your friend is a petty, malicious arsehole and I would be dropping her like a bag of flaming dog shit. What is the point of reporting people anyway? I know someone who is still throwing parties and barbecues for her extended family, while being in and out of hospital for various health problems, despite our area being an epicentre for the new variant. She thinks that such petty things as a pandemic shouldn't stop her living life the way she wants to and that is pretty much her attitude to everything. She shares a garden and makes her neighbour's lives miserable, no give and take at all. Reporting her isn't going to make a damn bit of difference to her mindset, I just keep the hell away.

SmoggieC · 09/01/2021 17:20

@Honeyroar

I really don’t see your friend’s problem if the lady moved her own stuff (including horses) from her personal space at one stables to her personal space at the other stable then it should be fine. You usually have to give a month’s notice to leave at a stables, so the lady had probably arranged to move well before lockdown was announced anyway.

I have horses and my own little livery yard. I hate to say it, but horsey people can be especially bitchy. Your friend is probably one of the reasons the lady moved off the yard!

Absolutely this. Livery yards are so so bitchy!
