I think (hope) the GOP have learned a very hard but necessary lesson.

I can't see a hope in hell of him getting the republican ticket in 2024 (not that I was convinced he would try - rather he'd adopt a "I won and no point running in a corrupt race again" stance).

So my guess he'll have to try and pardon himself because I can't see Biden (or Pence) doing it after this.

In the meantime I'm visualising staring at his phone in fury yelling "I'm the President" as he realises he can't use Twitter and Facebook and contemplates the risk/reward of sneaking into FLOTUS's wing to steal her phone/Twitter account....

I am so stunned by the images and footage I've seen, and that that orange loon is praising this terrible behaviour, and has encouraged this insurrection. Was not expecting to ever witness such a thing. He needs to be impeached/sedated and removed to a secure facility/silenced and stopped before he incites more madness.

Been saying it for the last few years, but there are no 'checks and balances' in the US system. Its an utter farce. They based it on the system Julius Caesar, Marius and Sulla managed to walk over with ease and its just relied on somebody as much of a failed human being as Trump not getting into power so far. If he had brains to go with the revolting morality this could have been so much worse.

I'm not sure how much more of 2021 I can take. We've got Brexit, lockdown and now this, and we're only six days in. What else has it got in store?

What worries me is that this country is becoming more like America by the day with the tribal politics and libertarian conspiracy nutters. I think we are only a matter of a few years away from similar.

I hate to say it, but I think there's a "greater good" argument for Wee Nippy saying that, after all, Donny can go to Scotland and hang out at his golf course – as long as he goes immediately.

There's a long tradition of authoritarian leaders leaving more quietly if they're given somewhere naice to go.

I know it's only a few more weeks till 20 Jan, but it would be worth it to get the sulky little shit out of the way somewhere.
