I think when you're talking about something as complex as race and gender you can't apply black and whites like "All whites are oppressors of POC" or "All men are oppressors of women
Well it's a good job I didn't say that then - I said white people as a class are oppressors of POC and men as a class oppress women. Do you understand the difference in that and saying "all white people are oppressors"?
It's not the exact same experience, and I doubt any of them would claim they understand totally, but most POC are happy for the allies and except them into the fold
I wasn't talking about them accepting allies into the fold. I was talking about POC accepting white people who identify as being a POC into the fold. That means POC accepting them for who they say the are are, believing them unequivocally and never casting judgement and treating them as if they do have the same barriers around race as them. Would you support this? And if you wouldn't, then why should women accept AMAB people into their fold. Because it is the exact same situation
In some cases white people have managed to pretend to be black, based on false pretenses (completely false including made up education/backgrounds etc). Should these people be embraced? No. Anymore than any liars/fraudsters should.
So why aren't men who claim to be women liars and fraudsters? Why is their identity blindly accepted as they push their way into our circles?
Frankly no two women have the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE.
Women (who are actual female sex to be clear) will experience the exact same levels on discriminations as the next woman. Maybe not the exact same set of circumstances but on principle the discrimination happens because of the sex we were born not the gender we are assigned. Do you think anyone asks a baby girl what their gender is before performing FGM?
But many TW will face the prejudice that women do in the workplace/world once they have transitioned, along with the prejudice that they will face with being trans, and if they are willing to fight the good fight for greater pay equality, and better access to healthcare, and education, etc, etc, etc. Then I have no issues with that. As I have no issues with support from men who also support womens rights.
You are correct, but that is
A. Not for women to fight - men can fight on behalf of their class if they wish, and
B. Doesn't mean, because they have some vague link to some of the issues women face, that they can bloody without wears iron be accepted into women-only folds. Women fought too hard and too long for their own spaces for a man to perpetuate a female stereotype and claim he's one of us now.
