NHS is a religion and if you mildly suggest remodelling to improve it you are accuse of being ‘Tory Scum’

Haggertyjane · 03/01/2021 10:06

Why have children if you are going to stick them in nursery at 3 months, work 12 hours a day and leave your child to be brought up by a nanny.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 03/01/2021 10:06

Rural living is not the utopia some people seem to think it is.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 03/01/2021 10:07

“Half of the UKs mental health services are clogged up with people with no mental illness, rather just shit life syndrome, costing billions and this is to the detriment of those who genuinely need medical input, whether that me physical, mental or other.”

I agree and the benefit system during the Labour years encouraged this along with turning a blindside to the amount of available drugs and selling local authority assets off so that the facilities and spaces for poor people mean there is no escape from the life they are leading.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/01/2021 10:07

Cattenberg
Ereshkigalangcleg, get your ducks in a row and get a shit hot lawyer. But cover him with foliage?
'Leave' the bastard, I think.

Ahhhhh thank you bothGrin

I don’t like people parking outside my house. I do judge people who don’t use their drive, especially when the road is like an ice rink and their car parked on the road, on a blind bend is a hazard.
Parent your own children , dont keep having more of you can’t/won’t look after them.
Judging people who have ‘work’ done eg eyelash extensions, but having work done yourself is bitchy and spiteful. Just because you think your ‘work’ is more middle class.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/01/2021 10:09

@Enb76

University should not be for everyone they should be for the most academic - currently they are a way to keep young adults out of the job market and tying them to debt for the privilege. Most jobs do not require a degree even if they ask for one.
Having met not really academic people suffering their way through uni with massive stress levels... I wish this was popular opinion. The fact that someone isn't a uni material doesn't mean they are losers. And the fact that someone is uni material doesn't mean they won't end up as a waiter

I thought Fleabag was a bit vulgar
It was meant to be Hmm
Nowayhozay · 03/01/2021 10:10

That Transgender people should be treated with respect and be allowed to live a happy and healthy life.

Ginfordinner · 03/01/2021 10:11

Why does everyone “need” a car? Aren’t there enough cars on the roads?

Because we don't all live in cities with excellent public transport. The first train of the day hasn't been through our village yet.
Although, if I couldn't drive I would live in a city.

Seasaltyhair · 03/01/2021 10:11

Boris is PM because Corbin was so terrible. The cult of the Corbynites ruined Labour for the rest of us. And after reading today that they plan on regrouping and pushing back against Keir I wish they’d just fuck off and crawl back under their rocks. Keir is possibly the only change Labour can get back up off its arse but these narcissistic idiots want to drag it back to hell again.

I would have chosen Boris over Corbyn every time and I’m a Labour supporter.

Onlinedilema · 03/01/2021 10:12

Also agree about NHS staff. They are not particularly nice, merely doing a job.

Thehollyandtheirony · 03/01/2021 10:13

Shared parental leave is bullshit. Women need to recover after childbirth and small babies need their mums.
Swapping places after a couple of months because the partner wants to play dad of the year is a huge step backwards for feminism. Employers need to accept that female employees might need time out to grow, feed and raise their babies. We are shooting ourselves in the foot if we pretend that men are just as capable of being the main caregiver in the early months.

sst1234 · 03/01/2021 10:13

There is nothing wrong with inequality as long as everyone has a minimum standard of living which improves over time. Inequality is fine and even good because its incentivises people to do more for themselves. And the incessant moaning about inequality usually comes from the most mediocre and lazy people.

Coldilox · 03/01/2021 10:13

Trans women are women.

You can allow your children to have a sugary dessert more often than the third Thursday of every month, and they won’t immediately become obese.

Low carb is not the only way to lose weight.

MacDuffsMuff · 03/01/2021 10:13

Too many (not all) parents use SEN as an excuse for their child's poor behaviour, rather than make the effort to help their child deal with situations that they will encounter throughout their lives. I say that as a parent of SEN children.

Yeah, if mums just give up work you can all be together 24/7, in the cardboard box you are now living in on the street.

Agreed. And yes it is a backwards step.

Autism isn't the only disability out there

timeforawine · 03/01/2021 10:17

I vote Tory
I formula fed from birth because i didn't want to breastfeed
I followed a bit of Gina Ford for a routine and it worked brilliantly
We had mostly cash gifts for our wedding towards our honeymoon
I don't think travelling with a child is hard

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 03/01/2021 10:17

Flowers completely with you @Mrsfrumble

Hohofortherobbers · 03/01/2021 10:20

Just because a couple are incompatible doesn't mean one of them is a 'textbook narc'

LasagneLady · 03/01/2021 10:21

I like scented soap.

We have a new large TV, and I look forward to not having to squint to read the clues on Only Connect.

I don't think it's dysfunctional not to be able to do everything yourself. I can't drive, and DP can't cook, but amazingly we help each other out.

ohisntthisallfun · 03/01/2021 10:22

Send our children back to school and get people back to work and businesses opened. Get cancer patients properly prioritised and treatment resumed. For those that are really worried, stay at home and let others get on with their lives. COVID really isn't so terrifying, the huge majority recover fine and it IS like flu (ie some people get it mildly, others suffer more and for longer) for most people. Definitely not worth grinding a whole country to a halt.

(Most) teachers do a brilliant job.

We are bloody lucky to have the NHS.

FancySomeChips · 03/01/2021 10:23

Transwomen are not women.

Cats toilet where they like. Same as foxes, and birds (and delivery drivers apparently).

Teachers work incredibly hard and this year has been a joke. They should be able to put in timesheets for overtime. They should not have pay frozen AGAIN to pay for the furlough scheme.

Furloughed workers should not be able to gain additional employment as well as claim furlough. It’s one of the other!

It’s ok for children to be lower achievers. They will find their way. Society needs all manner of roles filled, just because they might not be a doctor doesn’t mean they aren’t wonderful or won’t change the world.

Private schools need to be illegal.

Eating meat is ruining our planet. It should be banned. Exploiters and abusers of animals should be decapitated.

Every adult should wear a mask in shops/at school pick up and drop off. Won’t wear a mask? Get someone else to go to these places for you.
Non mask wearers and those caught breaking COVID rules should be refused NHS treatment.

Crap neighbours should be shipped to a desert island to live out the rest of their lives.
